자동차 냉각기 호스용 고무의 전기화학적 복합노화시험 (An Electro-chemical Combined-stress Degradation Test of Rubber for Automotive Radiator Hoses)

  • Coolant rubber hoses for automotive radiators under thermal and mechanical loadings can be degraded and thus failed due to the influences of the locally formed electricity. In this study, an advanced test method was developed to simulate the failure problem of the rubber hose. For carbon black filled EPDM (ethylene-propylene dine monomer) rubber used as a radiator hose material the ageing behaviors by the electro-chemical stresses combined with a tensile strain were analyzed. As the tensile strain increased, the current of the rubber specimen reduced indicating an increase of the internal defects and electrical resistance of the rubber specimen. Elongation at break and IRHD hardness rapidly decreased with increasing the ageing time. Both electro-chemical stress and mechanical tensile stress clearly accelerated the degradation of EPDM rubber.

Mobile RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) 용 안테나 계 (Design of mobile Radio Frequency Identification (m-RFID) antenna)

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 단말기 적용이 가능한 mobile Radio Frequency Identification (m-RFID) system 을 위한 안테나의 설계 방법을 제안했다. 전기계 안테나와 자기계 안테나의 결합을 통하여 안테나의 휴대 단말 장착시 m-RFID 적용 방향으로 안테나의 패턴이 지향성의 특징을 나타낸다. 전기계 안테나는 PIFA 구조의 안테나를 사용하였으며, 자기계 안테나는 loop 형 안테나를 구현하였다. 목표 주파수 대역은 900 MHz 대역이며, 목표 이득은 4dBi 이상으로 설계 되었다. Ansoft 사의 HFSS 를 사용하여 시뮬레이션하였으며, 목표치 이상의 결과를 보였다. 제작된 안테나는 FR4 epoxy 기판 (h=1 mm, $\varepsilon_{\tau}=4.4$) 을 사용하여 제작되었으며, 시뮬레이션과 유사한 결과를 보였다.

변형된 접지구조를 갖는 이중대역 소형 안테나 설계 (Design of dual-band compact antenna with a deformed ground plane)

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 무선통신기기에 장착해서 사용 가능한 소형 내장형 이중대역(RFID, PCS) 안테나가 소개되었다. 제안된 안테나는 기본적인 PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna) 구조이며 기존 안테나 방사체 아래쪽에 변형된 접지구조를 추가하였다. 이 변형된 접지 구조는 안테나에 의해 유기되는 전류를 분산시키고 안테나 주 방사부와 결합성분을 유도하여 안테나를 소형화시킨다. 시뮬레이션 결과에 따라 안테나가 실제 제작되고 측정되었으며 변형된 접지로 인해 공진 주파수가 낮은 주파수 대역으로 150MHz 정도 이동하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그리고 제안된 안테나의 표면전류가 분산되는 특징이 관찰되어 전자파흡수율(SAR)과 보청기호환성(HAC)을 개선하는데 사용될 수 있다.

미디어플로대역을 포함하는 단말기용 다중 대역 내장형 안테나의 설계 (Design of Multi-Band Internal Antenna for Handset Applications Including Media-FLO Band)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선인터넷 통신 대역으로 부각되고 있는 WiBro/ WiMAX 대역과 Media-FLO/ S-DMB 대역과 같이 중요한 통신대역을 포함하는 다중 대역 내장형 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 광대역 모노폴 형태의 안테나 구조를 이용하여 높은 주파수 대역에서 광대역 특성을 가지며 새로운 서비스 대역에 대해 적용 할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 미앤더 방사체를 광대역 안테나 위에 적층시켜 각각의 다른 전류 길이를 확보하였고, 각 주파수 대역에 대한 방사체의 공간을 효과적으로 사용하였다. 제안된 안테나의 대역폭은 정재파비 3:1을 기준으로 저주파수 대역에서 270 MHz, 고주파수 대역에서 2032 MHz를 가진다. 이러한 임피던스 대역폭은 현재 상용화되고 있는 대부분의 서비스 대역인 Media-FLO, CDMA, GSM, GPS, DCS, PCS, UMTS, WiBro, WiMAX, S-DMB에서 효과적으로 동작하는 것을 확인하였다.

CELLULAR/DCS/US-PCS Triple-Band Internal Antenna with a Novel Feeding Structure

  • This paper presents a novel feeding structure of the triple-band internal antenna which covers CELLVLAR/DCS/US-PCS bands. The proposed antenna consists of a U-slot patch radiator with a shorting post connected with ground plane and symmetric feeding lines with respective a feeding and shorting posts on both faces of the fixed FR-4 substrate. Through the simulation and experimental results, the proposed antenna is confirmed to have the features of less interference with a human head/body, broad bandwidth, desirable radiation patterns and efficiency for triple-band applications.

Wing Element를 이용한 DVB-H 내장형 안테나 (Internal DVB-H Antenna with Wing Element)

  • 최근 안테나 내장형 DVB-H 단말기에 대한 요구가 점점 증가함에도 불구하고, DVB-H 안테나는 $470MHz{\sim}702MHz$의 넓은 대역폭($B_r=40%$)과 $430{\sim}640mm$의 파장 길이로 인하여 성능 확보에 큰 어려움을 겪고 있다. 제안된 안테나는 DVB-H 안테나가 SDA (Support structure Defined Antenna)로 해석될 수 있음에 착안하여, 광대역 특성을 지닌 폴디드 모노폴 방사체와 공진 주파수를 효과적으로 낮출 수 있는 윙형 소자로 설계되었다. 결과적으로 단말기에 장착된 DVB-H 안테나는 DVB-H 대역에서 정재파비 4:1 이하의 임피던스 대역폭과 $-5{\sim}2dBi$의 양호한 이득을 얻었다.

Influence of Blade Outlet Angle and Blade Thickness on Performance and Internal Flow Conditions of Mini Centrifugal Pump

  • Mini centrifugal pumps having a diameter smaller than 100mm are employed in many fields; automobile radiator pump, ventricular assist pump, cooling pump for electric devices and so on. Further, the needs for mini centrifugal pumps would become larger with the increase of the application of it for electrical machines. It is desirable that the mini centrifugal pump design be as simple as possible as precise manufacturing is required. But the design method for the mini centrifugal pump is not established because the internal flow condition for these small-sized fluid machines is not clarified and conventional theory is not suitable for small-sized pumps. Therefore, we started research on the mini centrifugal pump for the purpose of development of high performance mini centrifugal pumps with simple structure. Three types of rotors with different outlet angles are prepared for an experiment. The performance tests are conducted with these rotors in order to investigate the effect of the outlet angle on performance and internal flow condition of mini centrifugal pumps. In addition to that, the blade thickness is changed because blockage effect in the mini centrifugal pump becomes relatively larger than that of conventional pumps. On the other hand, a three dimensional steady numerical flow analysis is conducted with the commercial code (ANSYS-Fluent) to investigate the internal flow condition. It is clarified from the experimental results that head of the mini centrifugal pump increases according to the increase of the blade outlet angle and the decrease of the blade thickness. In the present paper, the performance of the mini centrifugal pump is shown and the internal flow condition is clarified with the results of the experiment and the numerical flow analysis. Furthermore, the effects of the blade outlet angle and the blade thickness on the performance are investigated and the internal flow of each type of rotor is clarified by the numerical analysis results.

Control of C-dump Converters fed from Switched Reluctance Motors on an Automotive Application

  • This paper deals with the analysis of switched reluctance motor drives for different drive circuit topologies used in automobile. So we attempt to improve the weaknesses associated with the asymmetric bridge converter in the limited internal environment of automotive application. Two kinds of c-dump converters are tested in terms of dump capacitor voltage, speed response according to the variation of advance angle and efficiency for the radiator cooling-fan drive of an automobile. They enable more economical and efficient converter topology for automobile industries. This paper describes the performance characteristics of 12V-250W-3000rpm SRM drives for automotive application. Computer simulation and experiment results are then presented to verify the performance of the two kinds of c-dump converters.

사각형상 플랜지 액압성형 공정 시 결함특성 분석 (Analysis of Defect Characterization in a Rectangular Shape Flange Hydroforming Process)

  • The tube hydroforming process has received much attention in the automotive industry because of its advantages compared to conventional manufacturing technologies. A wide range of products such as sub-frames, camshafts, radiator frames, axles and crankshafts are made by hydroforming process. The hydroformed parts often need to be structurally joined to other components during assembly. Therefore, these automotive parts need to be manufactured with a localized attachment flange. In this study, FE forming analyses of a part with a rectangular flanged shape was performed with Dynaform 5.5. Using the optimized conditions determined numerically, hydroforming experiments were performed. Then, the characterization of defects was analyzed. Finally, the accuracy of the optimized internal pressure condition as well as that of the initial ram position were evaluated. The results demonstrated that flanged parts can be successfully produced using the tube hydroforming process.

  • A case study of an active transmitting patch antenna revealed a characteristic loop locus of DC power versus RF output power as drive frequency was varied, with an operational bandwidth substantially smaller than the impedance bandwidth of the radiator. An approximate simulation technique, based on separation of the output capacitance of the power transistor, yielded easily visualized plots of power dependence on internal load impedance, and a simple interpretation of the experimental results in terms of a near-resonance condition between the output capacitance and output packaging inductance.
