  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of family resources on social exclusion and the resilience of low-income families. To be more specific, this study categorized the level of social exclusion into five dimensions: work, housing, health, education, and social participation. Further, family resources were categorized into the two dimensions of "internal resources of the family" and "external resources of the family" in order to evaluate the effects of the two differentiated dimensions on social exclusion and the resilience of low-income families. The data of low-income families for the period of August 23 to September 28, 2012, were collected from community welfare centers that manage individual development accounts and local self-sufficiency centers; 302 cases were considered. The main results of this study were as follows: firstly, the model analysis proved that family resources as a parameter was significant, not only statistically but also theoretically and practically. Secondly, while a negative relationship was found between social exclusion and family resources, a positive relationship was found between family resources and resilience. This implied that the alleviation of a low-income family's social exclusion level could become an important intervention for the improvement of the family's functioning and strengths. Further, it implied that the qualitative improvement of the family's resources that affected the promotion of the resilience could be a basis for another practical intervention. These results suggested crucial implications for the development of comprehensive policies for addressing poverty issues.

  • The goal of this study is to fill this apparent gap in the area about investigating the effect of porosity distributions on vibrational behavior of FG sectorial plates resting on a two-parameter elastic foundation. The response of the elastic medium is formulated by the Winkler/Pasternak model. The internal pores and graphene platelets (GPLs) are distributed in the matrix either uniformly or non-uniformly according to three different patterns. The model is proposed with material parameters varying in the thickness of plate to achieve graded distributions in both porosity and nanofillers. The elastic modulus of the nanocomposite is obtained by using Halpin-Tsai micromechanics model. The annular sector plate is assumed to be simply supported in the radial edges while any arbitrary boundary conditions are applied to the other two circular edges including simply supported, clamped and free. The 2-D differential quadrature method as an efficient and accurate numerical approach is used to discretize the governing equations and to implement the boundary conditions. The convergence of the method is demonstrated and to validate the results, comparisons are made between the present results and those reported by well-known references for special cases treated before, have confirmed accuracy and efficiency of the present approach. It is observed that the maximum vibration frequency obtained in the case of symmetric porosity and GPL distribution, while the minimum vibration frequency is obtained using uniform porosity distribution. Results show that for better understanding of mechanical behavior of nanocomposite plates, it is crucial to consider porosities inside the material structure.

  • There are three types of noise generated inside the vehicle: BSR (Buzz, Squeak, Rattle). In this paper, we propose a classifier that automatically classifies automotive BSR noise by using features extracted from deep convolutional neural networks. In the preprocessing process, the features of above three noises are represented as noise-map using STFT (Short-time Fourier Transform) algorithm. In order to cope with the problem that the position of the actual noise is unknown in the part of the generated noise map, the noise map is divided using the sliding window method. In this paper, internal parameter of the deep convolutional neural networks is visualized using the t-SNE (t-Stochastic Neighbor Embedding) algorithm, and the misclassified data is analyzed in a qualitative way. In order to analyze the classified data, the similarity of the noise type was quantified by SSIM (Structural Similarity Index) value, and it was found that the retractor tremble sound is most similar to the normal travel sound. The classifier of the proposed method compared with other classifiers of machine learning method recorded the highest classification accuracy (99.15 %).

  • The open bit line is vulnerable to noise compared to the folded bit line when read/write for the DRAM. According to the increasing DRAM densities, the core circuit operating conditions is exacerbated by the noise when it comes to the open bit line 6F2(F : Feature Size) structure. In this paper, the interference effects were analyzed by the data patterns between the bit line by experiments. It was beyond the scope of existing research. 68nm Tech. 1Gb DDR2, Advan Tester used in the experiments. The noise effects appears the degrade of internal operation margin of DRAM. This paper investigates sense amplifier power line splits by experiments. The noise can be improved by 0.2ns(1.3%)~1.9ns(12.7%), when the sense amplifier power lines split. It was simulated by 68nm Technology 1Gb DDR2 modeling.

  • Liquid desiccant cooling technology can supply cooling by using waste heat and solar heat which are hard to use effectively. For compact and efficient design of a dehumidifier, it is important to sustain sufficient heat and mass transfer surface area for water vapor diffusion from air to liquid desiccant on heat exchanger. In this study, the plate type heat exchanger is adopted which has extended surface, and hydrophilic coating and porous layer coating are adopted to enhance surface wettedness. PP(polypropylene) plate is coated by porous layer and PET(polyethylene terephthalate) non-woven fabric is coated by hydrophilic polymer. These coated surfaces have porous structure, so that falling liquid film spreads widely on the coated surface foaming thin liquid film by capillary force. The temperature of liquid desiccant increases during dehumidification process by latent heat absorption, which leads to loss of dehumidification capacity. Liquid desiccant is cooled by cooling water flowing in plate heat exchanger. On the plate side, the liquid desiccant can be cooled by internal cooling. However the liquid desiccant on extended surface should be moved and cooled at heat exchanger surface. Optimal mixing and distribution of liquid desiccant between extended surface and plate heat exchanger surface is essential design parameter. The experiment has been conducted to verify effective surface treatment and distribution characteristics by measuring wall side flow rate and visualization test. It is observed that hydrophilic and porous layer coating have excellent wettedness, and the distribution can be regulated by adopting holes on extended surface.

  • This paper describes the results of an irradiation test and the specifications of the pneumatic transfer system (PTS) in the NAA #3 irradiation hole at the HANARO research reactor, which was reinstalled after some modifications of the operation mode at the end of 2004. The outer and inner diameters of the PE transfer tube are 34.1 and 27.5 mm, respectively. PE rabbit was used for sample irradiation. The $N_2$ gas pressure of the PTS lines was adjusted to 0.75 bar. The average sending time to the reactor was $8.5{\pm}0.3$ s and the average receiving time back to the receiver was $3.2{\pm}0.2$ s. The internal and external temperature of the irradiation tube was measured in a range of 50 to $80^{\circ}C$ for a 40 s to 80 s irradiation time, respectively. The optimum irradiation time was estimated to be less than 80 s. The thermal, epithermal and fast neutron flux at 30 MW thermal power were $1.42{\pm}0.01{\times}10^{14},\;1.51{\pm}0.04{\times}10^{13}$ and $9.48{\pm}0.69{\times}10^{11} n{\cdot}cm^{-2}{\codt}s^{1-}$, respectively. The cadmium ratio was approximately 9.40. The data obtained will be applied to supplement user information and for reactor management.

  • Face the process yield rate improvements of motherboard, although general enterprises finish deployment goal of each functions by overall quality managements, through quality improvement methods, industry engineering methods, plan-do-check-act (PDCA) methods and other improvement solutions, but it is only can be improved partially and unable to enhance the yield rate of product to the target. It only can takes one step ahead to enhance the process yield rate of motherboard with six sigma ($6{\sigma}$) overall DMAIC process and tactics. This research aimed to use six sigma quality improvement tactics by DMAIC systematic procedure and tactics, and find the key factors that effect to the process yield rate of surface mount technology. It also identified the keys input and process and output index to satisfy customer requirements and internal process index. The results showed that the major effective factors by fishbone and process failure modes and effects analysis (PFMEA). If the index of input and output that can be quantified, the optimum parameter can be found through design of experiment to ensure that the process is stable. If the factor of input and output that cannot be quantified, we found out the effective countermeasure by Mind_Mapping, make sure whole processes can be controlled stably, to reach the high product quality and enhance the customer satisfaction.

  • Objectives : An appropriate sampling strategy for estimating an epidemiologic volume of diabetes has been evaluated through a simulation. Methods : We analyzed about 250 million medical insurance claims data submitted to the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service with diabetes as principal or subsequent diagnoses, more than or equal to once per year, in 2003. The database was re-constructed to a 'patient-hospital profile' that had 3,676,164 cases, and then to a 'patient profile' that consisted of 2,412,082 observations. The patient profile data was then used to test the validity of a proposed sampling frame and methods of sampling to develop diabetic-related epidemiologic indices. Results : Simulation study showed that a use of a stratified two-stage cluster sampling design with a total sample size of 4,000 will provide an estimate of 57.04%(95% prediction range, 49.83 - 64.24%) for a treatment prescription rate of diabetes. The proposed sampling design consists, at first, stratifying the area of the nation into "metropolitan/city/county" and the types of hospital into "tertiary/secondary/primary/clinic" with a proportion of 5:10:10:75. Hospitals were then randomly selected within the strata as a primary sampling unit, followed by a random selection of patients within the hospitals as a secondly sampling unit. The difference between the estimate and the parameter value was projected to be less than 0.3%. Conclusions : The sampling scheme proposed will be applied to a subsequent nationwide field survey not only for estimating the epidemiologic volume of diabetes but also for assessing the present status of nationwide diabetes control.

  • The camera is a key element in image-based three-dimensional positioning, and camera calibration, which properly determines the internal characteristics of such a camera, is a necessary process that must be preceded in order to determine the three-dimensional coordinates of the object. In this study, a new methodology was proposed to determine interior orientation parameters of a camera semi-automatically without being influenced by size and shape of checkerboard for camera calibration. The proposed method consists of exterior orientation parameters estimation using quaternion, recognition of calibration target, and interior orientation parameter determination through bundle block adjustment. After determining the interior orientation parameters using the chessboard calibration target, the three-dimensional position of the small 3D model was determined. In addition, the horizontal and vertical position errors were about ${\pm}0.006m$ and ${\pm}0.007m$, respectively, through the accuracy evaluation using the checkpoints.

  • This study, to develop the technology of the fire resistance design of CFT structure based on fire resistance performance design, was suppose to use as basic data for performance design through a measure of temperature and deformation of the CFT specimen as parameter is the concrete compressive strength and load ratio. In accordance with KS F 2257-1 and 7, 24 MPa and 40 MPa and the load ratio of 0.9, 0.6 and 0.2 were imposed on a square column and as a result of evaluating in accordance with the fire resistance criteria, in case of 24 MPa, the fire resistance performance was improved by 73 minutes when the load ratio was reduced by 0.3. And when it comes to 40 MPa, the fire resistance was 31 minutes and 180 minutes when a load ratio was 0.6 and 0.2, respectively. As a result of evaluating fire resistant performance depending on variation of internal concrete strength, it proved that the higher the strength the lower the fire resistance.
