  • A high Tc superconducting with a nominal composition of $Bi_2Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_Y$ was Prepared by the citarte method. The solid Precursor produced by the dehydration of the gel at $120^{\circ}C$ for 12h is not in the amorphous state as expected but in a crystalline state. X-ray diffraction peaks of nearly the same angular position as the peaks of high Tc phase were observed in the precursor. After pyrolysis at $400^{\circ}C$ and calcination at $840^{\circ}C$ for 4h, the (001)peak of the high Tc phase was cleary observed. Experimental results suggest that the intermediate phase formed before the formation of the superconducting phase may be the most important factro in determining whether it is easy to form the high Tc phase or not, because the nucleation barriers of the two superconducting phase may be altered by the variation of the crystal structures of those intermediate phase.

  • Gas-phase pyrolyses of carbonate esters, ${\alpha}$- and ${\beta}$-hydroxy esters and ${\beta}$-hydroxy ketones have been studied theoretically by the AM1 MO method. Carbonate esters were found to decompose by two types of processes; in the reaction pathway involving an intermediate, the decomposition of the intermediate was rate-limiting, but direct pyrolyses were also possible via a six-membered cyclic transition state in which the methoxy oxygen attacks a hydrogen atom on the ${\beta}$-carbon. The hydroxy esters and ketones were found to decompose in a concerted process involving a six-membered cyclic transition state. Successive methylation on the ${\alpha}$- and ${\gamma}$-carbon led to an increase in the reactivity in agreement with experiments.

  • Theoretical studies are performed for a nonisothermal CFSTR in which consecutive reactions take place. The local dynamic stability of an unstable steady state is investigated with relation to variations in the controller gain when the temperature is subjected to a proportional control. The control has significant in fluences upon the stability of the high temperature steady state as well as that of the intermediate steady state.

  • Because of an emerging importance of clean energy, fuel cells are attract more attention due to their ability to produce high efficient power without any harmful emission. Fuel cells are energy conversion device with directly convert chemical energy into electrical energy by the chemical reactions, which have potential applications in automobile, spacecraft, stationary, industrial and home appliances. Recently there are gaining demand to develop an intermediate temperature fuel cell and available proton conductors at $200{\sim}500^{\circ}C$, which promising operating temperatures range for both material science and energy conversion processes. In this paper, we have reviewed electrochemical properties and current technology of solid state proton conductors. In addition, development of intermediate temperature fuel cell using the perovskite-type solid protonic conductor is also discussed.

  • The $H_2Ge=Ge:$ and its derivatives ($X_2Ge=Ge:$, X = H, Me, F, Cl, Br, Ph, Ar${\ldots}{\ldots}$) is a new species. Its cycloaddition reactions is a new area for the study of germylene chemistry. The mechanism of the cycloaddition reaction between singlet state Cl2Ge=Ge: and formaldehyde has been investigated with CCSD(T)//MP2/$6-31G^*$ method. From the potential energy profile, it could be predicted that the reaction has only one dominant reaction pathway. The reaction rule presented is that the two reactants first form a fourmembered Ge-heterocyclic ring germylene through the [2+2] cycloaddition reaction. Because of the 4p unoccupied orbital of Ge: atom in the four-membered Ge-heterocyclic ring germylene and the ${\pi}$ orbital of formaldehyde forming a ${\pi}{\rightarrow}p$ donor-acceptor bond, the four-membered Ge-heterocyclic ring germylene further combines with formaldehyde to form an intermediate. Because the Ge: atom in intermediate hybridizes to an $sp^3$ hybrid orbital after transition state, then, intermediate isomerizes to a spiro-Ge-heterocyclic ring compound via a transition state. The research result indicates the laws of cycloaddition reaction between $H_2Ge=Ge:$ and formaldehyde, and laid the theory foundation of the cycloaddition reaction between $H_2Ge=Ge:$ and its derivatives ($X_2Ge=Ge:$, X = H, Me, F, Cl, Br, Ph, Ar${\ldots}{\ldots}$) and asymmetric ${\pi}$-bonded compounds, which is significant for the synthesis of small-ring and spiro-Ge-heterocyclic compounds. The study extends research area and enriches the research content of germylene chemistry.
