In a mediator based information integration system that integrates information distributed on various data sources as a common data model, there are many researches on a common data mode providing a reservation of integrated data semantic, and on a resolution for a conflict caused by integrating various data modes. This paper proposes the DataBlender system that minimizes the semantic losses and provides an easy resolution for a conflict using the XML technology like as XML Schema, XQuery. Futhermore, it provides an integrated query facility usable in the mobile environment. So it becomes a foundation for a next Internet business environment.

The purpose of this study is to extract metadata based on Dublin Core from national construction information DBs, to design XML schema from the extracted metadata and to apply the previous works to integrated information retrieval system. To extract metadata, co-work was performed with librarians in the field of construction information, and. as a result, twelve metadata elements from Dublin Core and one administrative metadata could be extracted. Based on the investigation and analysis of those thirteen metadata elements, XML schema design process was described in detail. finally, the service environments of integrated information retrieval system to which XML schema was applied was introduced. Further study was also provided.

In this paper, we propose relevant to design and implementation of an integrated management system for various speech corpora. The purpose of this paper is to manage an integrated management system for various kinds of speech corpora necessary for speech research and speech corpora constructed in different data formats. In addition, ways are considered to allow users to search with effect for speech corpora that meet various conditions which they want, and to allow them to add with ease corpora that are constructed newly. In order to achieve this goal, we design a global schema for an integrated management of new additional information without changing old speech corpora, and construct a web-based integrated management system based on the scheme that can be accessed without any temporal and spatial restrictions. Finally, we describe the web based interface which are the executed results involved in the service and show the efficiency of using the index view for implementation of integrated management system.

The main contribution of this paper is to propose the integrated database schema from several research projects included in "The Next Generation New Technology for Rock-falling and Landsliding Project". Furthermore this paper describes the development of integrated standard database system for the slopes databases. We also develop and implement the global real time web service system in order to provide one-stop data service for the slopes. In this paper, the new integrated database paradigm for rock-fall and landsliding data is designed and proposed and also data management system is developed based on the global web service system.

In this paper, we implement the XML and data modeling by the UML tool, in which the class diagram is constructed from the sequence diagram after making the use case diagram. For the XML modeling. the guiding line will be presented to transform the UML class into the XML document, and then an example to draw the XML DTD from the UML class will be also shown. Furthermore, through the proposed data modeling, the integrated design methods for the transformation of the UML class into relational database schema. object-relational database schema and object-oriented database schema also will be proposed. Finally, we will be presented schema for each database system.

Web-based map services provide various geographic information that users want to get by continuous updating of data. Those map services provide different information for a geographic object respectively. It causes several problems, and most of all various information cannot be integrated and provided. To resolve the problem, this paper proposes a system which can integrate diverse geographic information and provide users rich geographic information. In this paper, a hybrid schema matching (HSM) algorithm is proposed and the algorithm is a mixture of the adapter-based semantic processing method, static semantic management-based approach, and dynamic semantic management-based approach. A comparative evaluation is described to show effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The proposed algorithm in this paper improves the accuracy of schema matching because of registration and management of schemas of new semantic information. The proposal enables vocabulary-based schema matching using various schemas, and it thus also supports high usability. Finally, the proposed algorithm is cost-effective by providing the progressive extension of relationships between schema meanings.

With the explosion of bioinformatics data such proteins and genes, biologists need a integrated system to analyze and organize large datasets that interact with heterogeneous types of biological data. In this paper, we propose a integration system based on a mediated data warehouse architecture using a XML model in order to combine protein related data at biology laboratories. A fact constellation model in this system is used at a common model for integration and an integrated schema it translated to a XML schema. In addition, to track source changes and provenance of data in an integrated database employ incremental update and management of sequence version. This paper shows modeling of integration for protein structures, sequences and classification of structures using the proposed system.

Today, the medical information system has evolved in the way of integrated healthcare IT information systems. Therefore, it is trying to build advanced U-Healthcare service. Though the U-Healthcare environments is exchanged the information between systems in many cases, however since the each system is different, the integration and exchange of data is difficult. To overcome this problem, in this paper it proposes that we suggests a possible DBaaS(DataBase as a Service) for the heterogeneous integration of medical information management and data exchange. First, the proposed system builds DBaaS cloud by integrating the meta-DB Schema level and DB Schema for each hospital. And, the mapping the schema data and the existing hospital information system is possible using the International Standard HL7. By applying the proposed method to the hospital system, it comes true the efficient exchange of information between the patients, doctors, staffs through the data mapping of the one to multi-system.

In this paper, the missile database system for the multidisciplinary design and optimization framework has been designed and investigated. The requirements of the missiles database are analyzed and the database design concept has been defined first. The data flow among the analysis disciplines is investigated and the Entity-Relation diagram is constructed to develop the database table and to define the database schema. The developed database system is integrated into the missile design framework to perform the store, search and management of the design data during the design and analysis of the missile development, hence the efficiency and validity of the database designed in this study has been demonstrated.
