두록 품종에서 잔류사료섭취량의 유전모수 추정 (Estimation of Genetic Parameters for Residual feed intake in Duroc pigs)

  • 사료이용 측면에서 유지 및 성장에 필요한 섭취량과 체내에 이용되지 않은 섭취량으로 구분할 수 있으며, 체내에 이용되지 않은 섭취량을 잔류사료섭취량(Residual Feed Intake; RFI)이라 한다. 본 실험은 국내 종돈의 RFI 유전모수를 추정하기 위해 2001년부터 2014년까지 태어난 Duroc종 8,696두의 검정자료를 활용하였다. 일당증체량과 RFI의 육종가 상관관계는 -0.2로 음의 상관으로 조사되었는데(P>0.01), RFI를 낮추면 일당증체량 개량에도 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 것으로 사료된다. 회귀추정 방식에 따른 RFI1(일당증체량)과 RFI2(일당증체량, 등지방두께)의 유전력은 각각 0.37, 0.45로 고도의 유전력을 나타내었다. 향후 국내에서도 개체단위 사료섭취량 측정으로 추정된 RFI를 개량에 활용한다면 농가 수익 개선에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

선진국의 토양위해성평가 모델 비교분석 연구 (Comparative Study of Soil Risk Assessment Models used in Developed Countries)

  • 우리나라는 최근에 토양위해성평가 지침을 마련하였으며, 앞으로 토양위해성모델 개발에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 선진국에서는 자국 내 부지특성과 노출경로를 고려한 토양위해성평가 모델을 토양정책 전반에 활용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 선진국에서 위해성평가에 이용되는 대표적인 오염토양 위해성평가 모델을 비교분석하였다. 연구대상이 된 모델은 미국, 영국, 네덜란드에서 사용하고 있는 CalTOX, CLEA, CSOIL로서, 노출경로, 토지이용도 그리고 노출량 산정식을 중심으로 비교분석하였다. 모델 검토시 우선적으로 비교 분석된 항목은 노출시나리오, 노출경로, 입력변수의 공통사항이며, 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 선진국의 토양위해성 모델들이 공통적으로 포함하고 있는 노출경로를 추출하여, 국내에 적용 가능한 토양 위해성평가 모델개발의 기초자료로 제안하였다. 인체노출량 산정식에서는 일반적으로 미국식 방법이 국내 상황에서 사용이 용이한 것으로 판단되며, 비산먼지나 휘발물질 흡입의 경우는 네덜란드식이 기본값이 제공되어 있으므로 사용하기가 편리할 것으로 판단된다.

One Point In situ Incubation Estimation of Undegraded Protein in Forages

  • To estimate undegraded intake protein (UIP) fraction in feeds and fodders, on the basis of their neutral detergent insoluble N content was studied. Samples of six feeds and forages were incubated in situ for a time equivalent to their mean retention time, estimated on the basis of their digestibility plus 10 h (to account for a lag in passage of particles from the rumen). The samples were incubated for 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% of the estimated total mean retention time. UIP value of leguminous forages, obtained from the fractional rates of degradation and passage, were highly correlated with those estimated from samples incubated for 75% of total mean retention time, while incubating the non-leguminous forages and groundnut cake for this point over estimate the UIP fraction.

가상 HC 센서를 이용한 Evaporative System Monitoring 방법에 대한 연구 (An Evaporative System Monitoring Method Using a Virtual HC Sensor)

  • This paper presents a new evaporative system monitoring method using a virtual HC sensor for an automotive on-board diagnosis. A development was made at providing mathematical expressions from the lambda control information to estimate the HC mass flow purged into the intake manifold from the canister for implementing a virtual HC sensor. The change of the lambda averagevalue reflected the influence of the additional fuel from purging results the sensor estimation of the purged HC amount. Based on this virtual HC sensor, a new evaporative system monitoring method was proposed comparing the amount of purged HC amount with the amount of the HC gas evaporated from the fuel tank and absorbed into the canister. Finally, the method was validated with a simulation using the data logged from the retail car.

데이터베이스 정규화 이론을 이용한 국민건강영양조사 중 다년도 식이조사 자료 정제 및 통합 (Data Cleaning and Integration of Multi-year Dietary Survey in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) using Database Normalization Theory)

  • Objectives: Since 1998, the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) has been conducted in order to investigate the health and nutritional status of Koreans. The food intake data of individuals in the KNHANES has also been utilized as source dataset for risk assessment of chemicals via food. To improve the reliability of intake estimation and prevent missing data for less-responded foods, the structure of integrated long-standing datasets is significant. However, it is difficult to merge multi-year survey datasets due to ineffective cleaning processes for handling extensive numbers of codes for each food item along with changes in dietary habits over time. Therefore, this study aims at 1) cleaning the process of abnormal data 2) generation of integrated long-standing raw data, and 3) contributing to the production of consistent dietary exposure factors. Methods: Codebooks, the guideline book, and raw intake data from KNHANES V and VI were used for analysis. The violation of the primary key constraint and the $1^{st}-3rd$ normal form in relational database theory were tested for the codebook and the structure of the raw data, respectively. Afterwards, the cleaning process was executed for the raw data by using these integrated codes. Results: Duplication of key records and abnormality in table structures were observed. However, after adjusting according to the suggested method above, the codes were corrected and integrated codes were newly created. Finally, we were able to clean the raw data provided by respondents to the KNHANES survey. Conclusion: The results of this study will contribute to the integration of the multi-year datasets and help improve the data production system by clarifying, testing, and verifying the primary key, integrity of the code, and primitive data structure according to the database normalization theory in the national health data.

가솔린엔진에서 흡기관 압력을 이용한 EGR율의 추정 및 제어 방법에 관한 유용성 연구 (An usefulness study on estimation and control method of EGR ratio using intake manifold pressure in an gasoline engine)

  • 가솔린엔진에서 흡기계를 통하여 배기가스의 일부를 재연소시키는 EGR시스템은 NOx를 저감하기 위하여 양호한 배기배출특성을 나타내지만, 엔진으로 유입되는 배기가스량이 적절하지 않을 경우 불안정한 연소를 일으켜 엔진의 출력이 저하된다. 본 연구에서는 흡기관압력을 바탕으로 다양한 엔진운전조건에 따른 EGR율을 예측하는 방법을 검토하고, 이러한 예측자료를 실험적 방법을 통하여 확인하였다. 그리고 이러한 예측자료를 바탕으로 피드백 EGR제어 알고리즘을 구성한 후, 엔진운전조건에 대한 잔류 가스량을 계산한 데이터와 EGR 피드백 제어실험을 통해 얻어진 데이터를 비교한 결과를 통하여 정성적으로 유사한 결과치를 얻었다. 따라서 적용된 피드백 EGR제어 알고리즘 및 시스템은 실제 전자제어식 EGR기술에 응용될 실현 가능성을 보여주었다.

Canonical Correlation Analysis for Estimation of Relationships between Sexual Maturity and Egg Production Traits upon Availability of Nutrients in Pullets

  • In this study, canonical correlation analysis (CCA) was applied to estimate the relationship between three different sexual maturity traits (X set: days to first egg (DFE), weight of the first egg (WFE), body weight at first egg (BWFE)) and level of nutrient intake (Y set: energy (EI) and protein intake (PI)) or the egg production traits at two different periods (Z set: number of egg (NE1 and NET) and weight of egg (WE1 and WET) from 22 to 25 (Wfirst) and 22 to 33 wk of age (Wall), respectively), which were measured from 64 egg-type pullets (Isa Brown) manipulated for time of access to energy and protein sources to onset of egg production. Partial CCA (PCCA) was used to eliminate the contribution of differences in the levels of nutrient intake to canonical variables for X and Z sets at the first production period. Estimated canonical correlation coefficients between X set and Y set (0.429, p = 0.042), X set and Z set (0.390, p = 0.007 for Wfirst) and within Z set (between Wfirst and Wall; 0.780, p<0.001), and partial canonical correlation coefficient between X set and Z set (0.415, p = 0.009) were significant. Canonical weights and loadings from CCA indicated that the BWFE had the largest contribution compared to the DFE and WFE to variation of egg number produced at two different periods. The results from PCCA indicated that the contribution of PI and EI to the degree of the correlation between canonical variables for X and Z sets were unfavourable. In conclusion, the effect of body weight at sexual maturity upon the availability of nutrients can have a higher contribution to variation of egg production in pullets if the contribution of differences in nutrient intakes to onset of egg production were eliminated.

음식물 쓰레기를 줄이기 위한 체계화 연구(II) -일부 한국음식의 1인 1회 적정 섭취량 평가- (The Systematic Study on Reduction of Food Waste Products(II) -Estimation of One Serving Size of Frequently Consumed Korean Dishes -)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the effect of serving sizes on dish wastes, nutrient intake, and diet satisfaction for reduction of dish waste products. The dish waste, energy and protein intake, and satisfaction scores before and after dining were compared in 44 subjects fed various serving sizes(100%, 90%, 80% of standard size) of 10 frequently consumed Korean dishes. The result are as follows: 1. Average age, height, and weight of 44 subjects were 30.5, 174.0cm, and 68.1kg in men and 26.2, 164.2cm, and 53.5kg in women, respectively. 2. There was a significant difference in the dish waste rate of 10 Korean dishes to serving sizes. The range of dish waste rates of 10 Korean dishes was 13.14-33.04%. 3. The average energy intake from 10 Korean dishes in which 100% of the standard serving size was served was lower than Korean RDA. Protein intakes from Sulungtang, Yukgaejang, Deunjang-ggigae, and Bibimpab with 100% servins size, Soondubi-ggigae 90% servins size, and Galbitang, Bulgogi-bakpan, Sangsungui-bakpan, Bakpan 80% of standard serving size were higher than Korean RDA. 4. The satisfaction score before dining on Sulungtang, Bulgogi-bakpan, Sangsungui-bakpan decreased with decreasing serving size. However, there was no significant difference in satisfaction score after dining to serving size. These findings indicate that dish waste rate and diet satisfaction of 10 these Korean dishes are fixed and energy intake is insufficient. Therefore, for reduction of food waste and reasonable serving size of dishes evaluated in this study, there should be more studies about Korean menu development with decreasing serving size and increasing energy density.

여대생들의 피부유형에 따른 식이섭취 실태조사 및 혈장 생화학적 성분분석 (An Analysis of Dietary Intakes and Plasma Biochemical Indices in Female College Students by Skin Types)

  • This study was done to investigate the nutrient intakes and plasma biochemcial indices in 68 female college students according to their skin types. Nutrient intakes were investigated by quick estimation. The plasma TG and total cholesterol levels were measured by the Spotchem sp-4410. The plasma levels of retinol and $\alpha$-tocopherol were measured by HPLC. In addition, the activities of antioxidant defense enzymes such as plasma glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) and glutathione reductase(GHS-Rd) were determined. All data were statistically analyzed by SAS PC package program. The results of this study were as follows : The average age, height, weight, BMI, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure ofthe subjects were $20.9{\pm}1.9yr, 160.7{\pm}4.3cm, 53.0{\pm}7.1kg, 20.5{\pm}2.4kg/m^2, 105.3{\pm}11.5mmHg and 70.6{\pm}7.7mmHg$, respectively. Ten students(14.7%) had normal skin type, 19 students(27.9%) had dry skin type, 11 students(16.2%) had oily skin type, 17 students(25.0%) had acne and 11 students(16.2%) had mixed skin type. The intakes of energy and fats in oily skin group were significantly higher(p<0.05) than those of the dry skin group, but vitamin C intake in the mixed skin group was significantly higher(p<0.05) than those of the dry skin group, but vitamin C intake in the mixed skin group was significantly lower(p<0.05) than that in other skin types. The intakes of other nutrients were not significantly different among skin types. The analysis of lipids showed that the plasma total-cholesterol level of mixed skin group was significantly lower(p<0.05) than that of the oily skin group, whereas other lipid levels were not significantly different. The other parameters such as retinol, $\alpha$-tocopherol, GSH-Px and GSH-Rd of plasma were not significantly different among skin types. Overall results indicate that dietary intake pattern may influence skin type and thereby some blood biochemical indices can be different by skin types.

Measurement of Microbial Protein Supply in Murrah Buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) Using Urinary Purine Derivatives Excretion and PDC Index

  • A study was conducted to predict the rumen microbial protein production based on urinary excretion of purine derivatives in buffaloes fed a diet of wheat straw and concentrate (40:60) at four fixed levels of feed intake. (95, 80, 60 and 40% of preliminary voluntary feed intake) following experimental protocol of IAEA (Phase I). The buffaloes were allocated according to a $4{\times}4$ latin square design. The urinary allantoin, uric acid, total PD excretion (mmol/d) in treatments L-95, L-80, L-60 and L-40 was 20.13, 16.00, 12.96 and 9.17; 1.88, 2.12, 2.11 and 2.15; 22.01, 18.12, 15.07 and 11.32, respectively and were significantly (p<0.05) different among treatments except for uric acid. The rate of PD excretion (mmol/d) was positively correlated with the digestible organic matter intake. Variations were observed in PD and creatinine concentration in spot samples collected at 6-hour interval. However, daily PD:Creatinine ratio (PDC index) appears to be a reasonably good predictor of microbial-N supply. The contribution of basal purine excretion to total excretion of purine derivatives (PD) was determined in pre-fasting period followed by a fasting period of 6 d (Phase II). Daily PD and creatinine excretion (mmol/kg $W^{0.75}$) during fasting averaged 0.117 and 0.456 respectively for buffaloes. The excretion rates of PD decreased significantly (p<0.01) during fasting compare to pre-fasting period, the urinary creatinine excretion remained almost similar. Except for creatinine, plasma concentration of target parameters significantly (p<0.01) declined during fasting. Likewise, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and renal clearance of allantoin and uric acid also decreased. Based on the PD excretion rates during fasting and at different levels of feed intake obtained in this study, a relationship between daily urinary PD excretion (Y-mmol) and microbial purine absorption (X-mmol) was developed for buffaloes as Y = 0.74X+0.117 kg $W^{0.75}$. The microbial N supply (g/kg DOMI) remained statistically similar irrespective of dietary treatment. The results showed that excretion of urinary purine derivatives is positively correlated with the levels of feed intake in Murrah buffaloes and thus, estimation of urinary purine derivatives and PDC index could be used to determine microbial nitrogen supply when there is large variation in level of feed intake.
