  • Aging of transformer insulating material in natural ester insulating oil is compared to that in conventional transformer oil. Aging of insulating paper and insulating oil have been studied by performing accelerated thermal aging test. Sealed aging test vessels containing cooper, laminated core, Kraft paper and insulating oil(natural oil or mineral oil) were aged at $140^{\circ}C$ for 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 hours. Insulating oils after aging are investigated with total acid number, breakdown voltage and viscosity. Also, degradation of insulating paper after aging is determined using breakdown voltage and mechanical strength. Accelerated aging studies demonstrate a slower aging rate for natural ester insulating oil compared to the rate for conventional mineral oil.

  • Climate conditions, especially transport and storage, are a very important factor in the process of sampling and testing insulation oil in the field. The samples of insulating oil exposed to the atmosphere affect the dielectric strength, total acid number and moisture test value by oxygen and high humidity environment and may also affect the results according to the criteria specified in each test. Therefore, reliable test values for insulating oil testing require consideration of the atmospheric environment of the test site, including oxygen and humidity. In this paper, each test was conducted on insulating oil exposed to various time and humidity environments, and the effect of the atmospheric environment on the test results was analyzed by comparing and analyzing with the first insulating oil.

  • In a large power transformer, insulating oil is forced to circulate for cooling the heat generated by the losses within windings and core. When insulating oil flows and rubs against various materials, such as insulating paper or core, the electrostatic charges are separated at the interface of the oil and the solid material. This paper considers the streaming electrification of various materials used in the transformer. In this study, we show that a solid material such as paper is negatively charged. On the other hand, a solid material such as core is positively charged.

  • The vegetable insulating oils are substitute for the mineral oil in power transformer. Vegetable insulating oils has higher flash/fire point and biodegradability than conventional mineral oils. In this paper, we investigated the dissolved gas analysis of vegetable oils. In the experiment, I had to accelerated aging under the same conditions mineral oil and vegetable oils. Accelerated aging proceeded to about 100% of the life of oil-filled transformer. In addition, we performed gas analysis of insulating oil of accelerated aging progress. The experiment results of the five gases was measured with the exception of Hydrogen and Acetylene. The mineral oil and vegetable oils gas is generated in a similar tendency depending on the accelerated aging. As a result, vegetable oils, can be dissolved gas analysis by method such as mineral oil.

  • The static charges are generated by streaming electrification phenomena in insulating oil flowing by force for the purpose of cooling at the internal of Ultra-high power transformer. In this thesis, their elimination method was studied. In this paper the effect of Additive on the electric conductivity of Insulating oil is studied. The variation of electric conductivity disappear when Additive is molten in insulating oil BTA(Benzotriazole) appear more variation of electric conductivity than that of SP-S10(Sorbitan mono-stearate). But the variation is not enough to decrease streaming electrification of insulating oil($\sigma$>10$\^$-12/[S/cm]).

  • The life of power transformer is basically dependent on the aging deterioration of insulating paper. Analysis of insulating paper for its DP value or tensile strength requires removal of a few strips of paper but direct measurement of this properties is not practical for in-service transformers. For this reason furfural analysis by HPLC has gained increasing favor as a means of estimating degradation of insulating papers in power transformers and this paper reports on the analysis of data on the concentration of furfural in oil samples from about 50 power transformers and the case study. The data showed that furfural content can estimate more accurately aging characteristics compared to concentration of CO, $CO_2$. We expect that these results can be useful to predict the aging characteristics and life diagnosis of power transformers and further the study must be continued.

  • In this paper, the electrical properties of liquid insulating oil were analyzed by changing the ambient temperature change at 10℃ in-tervals from 0℃ to 30℃ through an insulation breakdown experiment in order to analyze the insulation performance of liquid in-sulating oil that varies according to temperature changes. As a result, it was confirmed through experiments that the lower the am-bient temperature, the higher the insulation breakdown voltage, depending on both the electrode shape and the electrode interval, and it was determined that the lower the ambient temperature, the higher the insulation performance of the liquid insulating oil.

  • This paper carried out an experiment on the characteristics of time, temperature, electric field and the dependense of electrode materials and gap length by the conduction current of the insulating oil used for x-ray tube housing. The obtained results can be summarized as following: 1. In the x-ray tube housing insulating oil with vacuum condition, conduction current is declined more than the x-ray tube housing insultaing oil with the air, and is held stable states. 2. At the low electric field the higher temperature of the x-ray tube housing insulating oil is increased, the more conduction current. 3. The dependence of electrode material is appeared at the low electric field and the short gap length than the high and the long with Fe> Cu >Al. 4. At the I-E characteristics, the low electric field than 1000 [V/cm] is appeared Ohm's law region, and the high become saturation region. 5. At the same electric field, the longer gap length become, the more conduction current is increased, and the same applied voltage, the longer, the less conduction current is decreased, the less low than high temperature x-ray tube housing insulating oil.

In this thesis, their elimination method was studied. The falter represents a greet much electrification characteristics because falter has large interfaces with liquid. In this paper, the streaming-electrification phenomena of insulating oil by metal filter were measured by mesh number, oil flow rate, oil temperature and a kind of mesh and The effect of charge elimination by metal filter generated minus ion was measured.

  • Electrical insulation is one of the most important part in a high voltage apparatus. Recently, researchers are interested in the environmental friendly vegetable oil from environmental viewpoint. Accelerated aging transformer insulating material in vegetable oil was compared to that of mineral oil. Accelerated aging oil samples produced in the oven at $140^{\circ}C$ for 500, 1000, 1500, 2000hours. And Real transformer insulation oils samples of vegetable oil and mineral oil were aged by thermal cycles repeating from $30^{\circ}C$ to $120^{\circ}C$. Samples were analyzed at 42, 63, 93, 143, 190, 240, 300 cycles. The mineral and vegetable insulating oils were investigated for breakdown voltage, water content, total acid number, viscosity, volume resistivity, insulating paper and oil permittivity, and dissolved gas analyses. The breakdown voltage of the vegetable insulating oil is higher than that found for the mineral oil; the accelerated aging progress decreased the breakdown voltage. The vegetable oil had a higher water saturation than the mineral oil; the vegetable oil has the superior water characteristics and breakdown voltage. And high viscosity of vegetable oil, care has to be taken, especially when designing the cooling system for a large transformer.
