GRACE 위성 간 거리측정기 비행성능 분석 (Flight Performance Analysis of the GRACE Inter-Satellite Ranging Instrument)

  • 2002년 3월에 발사 된 GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment)는 미국과 독일 합작으로 개발된 최초의 지구중력장 측정 전용 위성으로 동일한 궤도를 비행하는 두 개의 위성 사이 거리 변화를 측정하여 지구 중력장을 추정하는 사업이다. 위성 발사 후 이전 보다 수 십배 정확한 지구중력장 모델을 생성하였으며, 지구중력장 변화도 30일마다 추정하고 있다. GRACE 위성의 핵심 관측기인 위성간 거리 측정기의 원리에 대해 소개하고, 운용 결과 및 성능에 대해 소개 하였다. 발사 전 성능 분석 단계에서 고려되지 못했던 거리측정기 오차 요인에 대해 분석하고, 향후 연구 방향을 제시 하였다.

블랙카본 측정기용 초소형 사이클론 집진기 개발 (Development of a Miniature Aerosol Separator for a Black Carbon Measuring Instrument)

  • Given the increasing interest in air pollution, several technologies to measure black carbon (BC) aerosol particles have been developed. As most BC aerosol particles are smaller than 1 ㎛, it is necessary to pre-separate the particles by size before a BC measuring instrument samples the aerosol particles. In this study, a miniature cyclone separator for portable BC measuring instruments was developed. A numerical approach was used to design the miniature cyclone separator with operating flow rates of 50, 100, or 150 mLPM, and then a prototype cyclone separator was manufactured for experimental validation. The numerical results of the cut-off size and pressure drop of the miniature cyclone separator agreed well with the experimental data. The cut-off sizes of the miniature cyclone separator were determined to be 2.9, 0.94, and 0.63 ㎛ for operating flow rates of 50, 100, and 150 mLPM, respectively. Thus, the miniature cyclone separator is suitable for use as a sampling inlet for the portable black carbon measuring instrument to sample BC aerosol or PM2.5 aerosol.

Vision System을 이용한 사출제품의 길이 측정용 시각검사 System 개발 (The Development of Visual Inspection for Length Measurement of Injection Product Using Vision System)

  • In this study, We made visual inspection system using Vision Board. It is consist of an illuminator (a fluorescent lamp), image input device (CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) camera), image processing system(Vision Board(FARAMVB-02)), image output device (video monitor, printer), and a measuring instrument(TELMN1000). Length measurement by visual inspection system make use of 100mm guage block(instead of calculating distance between a camera and a object). It measured horizontal and vertical length factor from 400mm to 650mm by increasing 50mm. In this place, measured horizontal and vertical length factor made use of length measure- ment of a injection. A measuring instrument used to ompare a measured length of a injection visual inspection system with it. In conclusion, length measurement of a injection compared a measuring instrument with visual inspecion system using length factor of 100mm gauge block. We find that maximum error of length is 0.55mm when it compar with the measuring value of two devices(FARAMVB-02, TELMN1000). Program of visual inspection system is made up Borland C++3.1.

아동용 인과추론능력검사 개발 예비 연구 (A Study on Validating Causal Reasoning Ability Test for Children)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 인과추론검사에 대한 이론적 틀을 바탕으로 인과추론능력 검사도구를 개발하고 이를 타당화하기 위한 예비 연구를 진행하는 것이었다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 인과추론의 대상 영역을 행동, 심리, 자연 영역으로 구분하여 각 영역에서의 인과추론능력을 측정하는 그림 검사를 개발하였다. 예비 검사와 본 검사를 통하여 2차에 걸쳐 문항을 선별하였고, 구인타당화, 공인타당화에 대한 검증이 이루어졌다. 총 59문항에 대한 선별 과정을 통하여 예비 검사에서 18문항, 본 검사에서 최종 12문항을 확정하였다. 최종 12문항으로 이루어진 인과추론능력검사의 신뢰도는 Cronbach ${\alpha}=.72$로 나타났고, 구인타당화를 위한 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과 본 검사가 가정한 세 가지 하위 구인인 행동, 심리, 자연의 삼요인이 추출되었다. 또한 확인적 요인분석 결과, 본 연구가 가정한 행동, 심리, 자연의 삼요인 모형의 이론적 요인구조가 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 준거 타당도 검증을 위해서 한국교육개발원의 추리능력검사를 사용하였고, 이 검사와의 상관은 .55로 두 검사가 추론이라는 공통 구인을 측정하고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 검사의 총점 및 하위 점수에서 성차가 발견되지 않았고, 성에 따른 문항의 차별적 기능 분석결과 2문항만이 차별성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 학년별 차이는 유의하게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 본 검사가 성차에 상대적으로 편파적이지 않으면서도 연령에 따른 인과추론 발달 추이를 어느 정도 반영하는 검사도구임을 보여주는 것이었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 아동용 인과추론능력검사는 아동의 사고능력에 대한 평가뿐만 아니라, 사고력 발달에 있어 지체나 장애를 나타내 보이는 아동들을 선별하는 데 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것이다.

친환경적 도시건축계획을 위한 환경계획지표개발의 방향 (Development Guidelines of Environmental planning Indicators for Environmentally friendly Urban and Architectural Planning)

  • Through the harmony of natural and artificial systems a city is composed of, the ecology-oriented urban planning seeks for qualitative improvements of a city on which our life is based. To enhance the ecology-oriented urban planning, the followings are suggested by a comparative analysis of Korea with Germany regarding the development process, the instruments, and the establishment of indicators for the planning. Firstly, though our national land development plan is closely connected with B-plan, it has little to do with the natural environment. Moreover, the natural environment plan of the Ministry of Environment is almost impossible to carry out in terms of urban construction work. For this reason, the instrument for dealing with the development and environment plan systems together as well as the completion of the current plan system is needed for the ecologically acceptable urban development in the long term. Secondly, in order to realize what is mentioned above in the concrete it seems to be desirable for the system and the instrument to be devised at the extent of B-plan. The regulations of the plan should have strong legal binding force and practicality as well. The element of ecology-oriented urban planning are (1) degree of independence and appropriate density, (2) conservation of natural elements such as soil, water, animals and plants etc., (3) energy saving in land use, (4) activation of B-plan and inducement of active participation of residents. Thirdly, it will be useful to develop various kinds of indicators for the environment plan provided in advance so that the ecology-oriented urban developments may be under control. It also should be taken into consideration that the indicators are supposed to be comprehensive, representative, and practical enough to make the most of at the early stage of drawing up a plan. The kinds of indicators which can be used in the ecology-oriented urban development include (1) soil, (2) water, (3) vegetation and plants, (4) animals, (5) climate, and (6) transportation.

  • The SPICA (SPace Infrared Telescope for Cosmology & Astrophysics) project is a next-generation infrared space telescope optimized for mid- and far-infrared observation with a cryogenically cooled 3m-class telescope. Owing to unprecedented sensitivity and high spatial resolution, the focal plane instruments are expected to perform the confusion-limited observation. The SPICA will challenge to reveal many astronomical key issues from the star-formation history of the universe to the planetary formation. The Korean 5contribution to SPICA as an international collaboration is the development of the near-infrared instrument, FPC (Focal Plane Camera). The Korean consortium for FPC proposed a key system instrument for the purpose of a fine guiding (FPC-G) complementing the AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System). The back-up instrument of FPC-G, FPC-S will be responsible for the scientific observations as well. Through the international review process, we have revised the scientific programs and made the feasibility study for the fine guiding system. Here, we report the current status of SPICA/FPC project.

Development of a Model Instrument of Thermal Power Plant for Understanding of Air Pollutant Generation

  • In order to deal with current environmental issues and their backgrounds, further development of current teaching methods and tools are essential. The result of questionnaire performed in this study indicates that the effect and the change of the perception of power generation in Japan after the great disaster of East Japan have caused many students (both high school and college students) to become interested in the energy situation. In the present study, we made an attempt to develop a model instrument of a thermal power plant that can be applied as a teaching tool for understanding of air pollutant forming as well as power generation. Our novel model tool consists of a body (30 cm width, 21 cm depth, and 41 cm height), a combustion chamber, two motors, a boiler, a voltmeter, and a chimney for measurement of exhaust gas. Using our novel hand-made power plant, we carried out some model experiments with learners (i.e. high school and college students). Through model experiments, students can be experienced not only about power generation but also about generation of air pollutants. In order to estimate the applicability of our novel instrument as an educational tool, we carried out the questionnaires before and after model experiments. More than 80% of educatees reported that it was very useful as a teaching tool for energy and environmental education. The results of questionnaires indicated that learners achieved a very deep understanding of the principles of power generation and the forming of air pollutants.

Status Report of GMTNIRS Development

  • GMTNIRS (the GMT Near Infrared Spectrograph) is one of the first generation instrument candidates for GMT (Giant Magellan Telescope). Conceptual design studies for nine instruments were proposed last year, and the GMT organization selected 6 instruments including GMTNIRS for the next phase. GMTNIRS will be developed by an international collaboration between KASI and UT(University of Texas). KASI and UT have been also developing IGRINS (the Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrometer) which is a fore-runner instrument of GMTNIRS since 2009. In this talk, we will present the instrument details and development plan, and discuss the science case for GMTNIRS.

다채널 진동 모니터링 장치 개발 (Development of the Multichannel Vibration Monitoring System)

  • 산업현장에서의 회전체 기기의 유지보수안전관리를 위한 설비에 대한 설계에 대한 연구이다. 중급 진동 모니터링 시스템 시장에 진입하기 위한 다채널 설비 자가 진단 모니터링 장치를 개발하였고, 이 시스템의 특징은 확장성과 유연성을 부여하였다. 한 개의 신호를 처리하기 위해서는 한 개의 독립적 채널이 필요하나, 개발된 제품은 신호 처리 카드 한 장이 4채널을 처리하다. 한 개 랙에는 독립적인 이중화 전원장치, 디스플레이가 설치되어 진동측정값을 별도의 컴퓨터 없이 현장에서 바로 확인할 수 있다. 베어링 결함 감지는 진동 감시의 기본이지만 일반적인 진동 속도나 가속도에서 나타나지 않는 경우가 있다. 따라서 저주파대역의 반복적이지 않은 진동은 필터링하고 진폭 변조 시키는 기술이 기속도 엔벨로핑 기술이다. 이 기술이 적용된 진동 분석 장비를 개발하였다. 개발된 시제품은 진동오차 범위에서 작동함을 보여주었다.

한국가족의 기능 회복력 측정도구 개발 연구 - 만성질환아 가족을 대상으로 - (A Study on the Development of the Korean Family Resilience Scale)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument to measure family resilience for Korean families with a chronically ill child, and to test the validity and reliability of the instrument. Method: The items of instruments used based on the researchers' previous study of concept analysis of Korean family resilience. Nineteen item scales were developed with five domains. In order to test reliability and validity of the scale, data were collected from 231 families, who had a child with a chronic illness. Data was collected between August and September of 2001 in a 3rd level University Hospital in Seoul, Korea. Result: The results were as follows: As a result of the item analysis, 19 items were selected from the total of 37 items, excluding items with low correlation with the total scale. Five factors were evolved by factor analysis, which explained 56.4% of the total variance. The first factor 'Family strength' explained 28.5%, 2nd factor 'Family maturity' 8.7%, 3rd factor 'The ability to use of external resources' 7.0%, 4th factor 'Control' 6.6%, 5th factor 'The driving force for finance' 5.7%. The attributes in these factors were different with those identified by concept analysis of the family resilience in Korean families from the previous study. Cronbach's $\alpha$ coefficient of this scale was .8039 and Guttman spilt- half coefficient was .8184. Conclusion: The study support the reliability and validity of the scale. Because the main concept of family resilience was family strength, there were distinct differences in dimensions of family functioning scales.
