Purpose: Even though a number of studies have suggested that appropriate measuring instruments of family stress for working women have to be developed, the validity and reliability of the instruments used have not been consistently examined. The purpose of the present study was to develop a sensitive instrument to measure family stress for married working women, and to test the validity and reliability of the instrument. Method: The items generated for this instrument were drawn from a comprehensive literature review Twenty four items were developed through evaluation by 10 experts and twenty one items were finally confirmed through item analysis. Psychometric testing was preformed and confirmed with a convenient sample of 240 women employed in the industrial sector. Result: Four factors evolved by factor analysis, which explained 50.5% of the total variance. The first factor 'Cooperation' explained 28.1%, 2nd factor 'Satisfaction with relationships' 10.6%, 3rd factor 'Democratic and comfortable environment' 6.3%, and 4th factor 'Disturbance of own living' 5.5%, Cronbach's coefficient of this instrument was 0.86. Conclusion: The study supports the validity and reliability of the instrument.

The purpose of this paper is to explain the process of developing and validating the instrument to measure the university's organizational core values and sub-values known as ESI iDART. The three core values are excellence, synergy, and integrity, while the five sub-values comprise knowledge, discipline, trustworthiness, diligence, and responsibility that all staff should understand and practice. These values must be measured to examine the extent to which the staff has practiced them in their work life. With regard to methodology, the research instrument used in the study was developed using a focus group study involving 39 university staff from various departments and campuses. The instrument was later refined and validated by a group of experts from the university. In the main study, the instrument was distributed to all 17,969 university staff from all over the country. After one month, a total of 11,688 university staff participated in the survey indicating a 66% response rate. Using descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, and ANOVA, the results indicate that instrument is considered valid and reliable to be used. The major findings from the study show that organizational values increase over time. Some theoretical and managerial implications are also discussed.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop an instrument to assess the quality of childbirth care from the perspective of a mother after delivery. Methods: The instrument was developed from a literature review, interviews, and item validation. Thirty-eight items were compiled for the instrument. The data for validity and reliability testing were collected using a questionnaire survey conducted on 270 women who had undergone normal vaginal delivery in Korea and analyzed with descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability coefficients. Results: The exploratory factor analysis reduced the number of items in the instrument to 28 items that were factored into four subscales: family-centered care, personal care, emotional empowerment, and information provision. With respect to convergence validation, there was positive correlation between this instrument and birth satisfaction scale (r=.34, p<.001). The internal consistency reliability was acceptable (Cronbach's alpha =.96). Conclusion: This instrument could be used as a measure of the quality of nursing care for women who have a normal vaginal delivery.
Objective: To develop a standardized instrument to measure the level of cognition for orthodontic treatment in adults, and verify its reliability and validity for assessing perceptions of orthodontic treatment in adults. Methods: A total of 406 adults aged 19-64 years were surveyed by an internet research system. A tool was developed through the instrument development and verification stages. The data were analyzed by correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and Cronbach's α test. Results: The instrument consisted of 11 items covering four factors related to orthodontic treatment. Three items were related to general perception, four described the perception of the treatment for adults, two related to the treatment effects, and two related to the retention of orthodontic treatment. In the reliability test, Cronbach's α was 0.845 for the 11 items. In assessments for individual components, Cronbach's α was 0.764 for the general perception of orthodontic treatment, 0.705 for the perception of this treatment for adults, 0.707 for the effects of the treatment, and 0.701 for the retention of orthodontic treatment. Finally, a measurement instrument for the perception of orthodontic treatment in adults was designed to assess the 11 items on a four-point Likert scale. Conclusions: This study developed a standard measurement instrument for assessing the perception of orthodontic treatment in adults. The proposed instrument will enable additional studies on the influence of an adult's perception of orthodontic treatment on the decision to undergo treatment.
The purpose of the present study is to develop instrument of mathematical belief of middle school and high school students and to analysis results of test using the instrument. Based on the results of literature review, mathematical belief is the cumulative effects of self-assessment and self-concept in mathematical learning and achievement experience. Four sub-components of mathematical belief is identified belief of school mathematics, belief of mathematical problem solving, mathematical self-concept, belief of mathematical teaching and learning. The instrument was developed to investigate mathematical belief by reflecting Korean middle school and high school students' psychological characters. To develop the appropriate items for the mathematical belief, after reviewing literature thoroughly, first version of the instrument was developed and exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. Then, to reduce the effect of the gender difference and achievement level difference, Correlation Analysis and 1-way ANOVA was performed. Also, using multiple group confirmatory factor analysis, this instrument was investigated to see whether this can be used for both middle school and high school. The final items for middle school students is consisted 7 items of belief of school mathematics, 9 items of belief of mathematical problem solving, 11 items of mathematical self-concept, 10 items of belief of mathematical teaching and learning. Instrument of mathematical belief for high school students is consisted 9 items of belief of school mathematics, 9 items of belief of mathematical problem solving, 11 items of mathematical self-concept, 11 items of belief of mathematical teaching and learning. This study examined the differences about mathematical belief's sub-factors shown by three groups of mathematics achievement level. Students of higher achievement level showed that the degree of most factors ware the highest excepting stereotype of belief of school mathematics. Also, Male students preferred more positive in mathematics belief than female students.
The Mathematics Teaching Efficacy Beliefs Instrument is one of the most popular instruments used to measure elementary preservice teachers' efficacy beliefs in mathematics teaching. The instrument was, however, developed in the United States and is perhaps not appropriate for other cultures. In this study, the instrument was translated into Korean and carefully reviewed by Korean mathematics teacher education professors. Analysis of the review indicated that eight out of the 21 items were appropriate while the others needed to be revised. Items were identified as inappropriate due to awkwardness, multiple meanings, tense disagreements, and vagueness. These items were modified to better fit the Korean context. The instrument was revised with two versions: one for elementary and the other for secondary pre service teachers.

In this study, the analysis to the preference level on slope measuring instrument of weight values on effect factors find out the reasonable monitoring on slope was performed, in which used AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) techniques. The results on professional group, such as the industry, academic, institute and government, analyzed that the very important effect factors, which were indicator of various collapse type, convenience of instrument management, The evaluation of preference level on the slope measuring instrument analyzed the invar wire extensometer which was high level at convenience of install, economical efficiency of install and convenience of instrument management.
This Research was designed to develop an instrument that can be used for measuring and analysing the degree of the quality of life of the Allogenic bone marrow transplantation survivors and to provide basic data to help them attain a better quality of life. The subjects of this study were a total of 101 people who were undergone Allogenic bone marrow transplantation and were over 100 days after transplantation. Data were collected during the period from September 3 to December 2. 2000. In Developing this instrument, the researcher established a conceptual framework based on the result of previous research, interview of patients and medical staff and researcher's experience. The scale for this instrument consisted of 51 items. Responses were obtained from the respondents through a self reporting method and each item had a possible score of 5. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The reliability of the scale was tested by Cronbach‘s alpha. For the examination of the component factors of the measuring instruments, factor analysis method was used. Examination of the difference in the quality of life as related to demographic variables was done using t-test, analysis of variance(ANOVA). For the examination of the major variables influencing the quality of life, Pearson's Correlations was used. The results were as follows: (1) The reliability of the instrument was 0.90 (Cronbach's alpha) (2) The validity of the instrument was tested by factor analysis. The result of the factor analysis of the 51 items is making up the instruments were classified into the following factor; emotional state, Interpersonal problem, physical problem, spiritual state, social problem, decrease of physical energy, physical problem-eye, physical problem-skin and mucosa, health awareness, elimination problem, worry about health, financial problem, sexual problem. (3) Demographic variables related to quality of life is the time after transplantation. GVHD experience, lose of job. Age at the transplantation, diagnosis, type of the transplantation, marital status, monthly income, educational background, sex, religion are not related to the quality of life.
A novel method to measure the scale factor for the all-optical atomic spin inertial measurement device (ASIMD) is demonstrated in this paper. The method can realize the calibration of the scale factor by a self-consistent method with small errors in the quiescent state. At first, the matured IMU (inertial measurement unit) device was fixed on an optical platform together with the ASIMD, and it has been used to calibrate the scale factor for the ASIMD. The results show that there were some errors causing the inaccuracy of the experiment. By the comparative analysis of theory and experiment, the ASIMD was unable to keep pace with the IMU. Considering the characteristics of the ASIMD, the mismatch between the driven frequency of the optical platform and the bandwidth of the ASIMD was the major reason. An all-optical atomic spin magnetometer was set up at first. The sensitivity of the magnetometer is ultra-high, and it can be used to detect the magnetization of spin-polarized noble gas. The gyromagnetic ratio of the noble gas is a physical constant, and it has already been measured accurately. So a novel calibration method for scale factor based on the gyromagnetic ratio has been presented. The relevant theoretical analysis and experiments have been implemented. The results showed that the scale factor of the device was $7.272V/^{\circ}/s$ by multi-group experiments with the maximum error value 0.49%.

Objective: This study was performed to investigate the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders of traditional Korean instrument player using a variety of traditional classical instruments: Gayageum, Geomungo, Ajaeng, Haegeum, Daegeum, Piri and Samul instruments. Background: A large percentage of instrument players have suffered from the musculoskeletal pain of each body parts. However, there is no research on the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders of traditional Korean musical instrument players. Method: Through the focus group interview, a questionnaire to investigate musculoskeletal disorders was developed. The questionnaire consisted of four parts: demographic factors, performance factors, musculoskeletal disorders symptoms, musculoskeletal disorder experience. For the survey, 118 expert players participated. The data from the survey were analyzed by correlation analysis and chi-square analysis. Results: The symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders and the severe pain from musculoskeletal disorders were observed at neck, shoulder, back and knee. The musculoskeletal experience was statistically related to the factor of body height in Gayageum and Geomungo. In addition, the musculoskeletal experience in Geomungo was related to age and career. However, the musculoskeletal experience in Ajaeng and Haegeum was only related to the factor of hobby. The musculoskeletal experience in Daegeum and Piri was related to stretching. In addition, there was a statistical significance between the musculoskeletal experience and sex in Daegum. In Samul instruments, the statistical significance was observed at age, BMI, career and stretching. Conclusion: The symptoms of playing-related musculoskeletal disorders of traditional Korean musical players were prevalently observed at neck, shoulder, back and knee. In addition, these symptoms were related to the various demographic factors such as age, body height, BMI, career, sex, hobby and stretching. Application: The results of this study can be used as the preliminary data for preventing the musculoskeletal injuries of traditional Korean musical instrument players.
