Development of STEAM Instructional Materials using Arduino for Creative Engineering Design Class in High Schools and Its Application (일반계고의 창의공학설계 수업을 위한 아두이노 기반 STEAM 수업자료 개발과 적용)

  • The purpose of the study was to develop the Arduino based STEAM instruction materials for creative engineering design class. PDIE model was used in this study. We developed a STEAM lesson plan and a STEAM lesson worksheet for a total of six sessions through the steps of preparation, development, implementation and evaluation. The validity of the instruction materials was evaluated by the 10 experts using a survey. The instruction materials were applied to the class (52 students attended) of the creative engineering designs unit in technology and home economics subject. The class satisfaction and the creative solving-problem ability were examined after the calss. The class satafacition was high as the average of 10 item was 4.57 (out of 5). The paired t-test was conducted to compare the means of the creative solving-problem ability. It was observed that 'understanding and mastery of knowledge, thought, function and skills in a specific domain', 'divergent thinking', 'critical and logical thinking' and ' motivational factors' were significantly increased after the class. The instruction materials develped in this study were successfully designed to enhance the creative solving-problem ability by designing creative tasks and to intrique the interest by adding visual and auditory stimuli with the Arduino.

A Study on Design and Implementation of the Ubiquitous Computing Environment-based Dynamic Smart On/Off-line Learner Tracking System

  • In order to provide a tailored education for learners within the ubiquitous environment, it is critical to undertake an analysis of the learning activities of learners. For this purpose, SCORM (Sharable Contents Object Reference Model), IMS LD (Instructional Management System Learning Design) and other standards provide learning design support functions, such as, progress checks. However, in order to apply these types of standards, contents packaging is required, and due to the complicated standard dimensions, the facilitation level is lower than the work volume when developing the contents and this requires additional work when revision becomes necessary. In addition, since the learning results are managed by the server there is the problem of the OS being unable to save data when the network is cut off. In this study, a system is realized to manage the actions of learners through the event interception of a web-browser by using event hooking. Through this technique, all HTMLbased contents can be facilitated again without additional work and saving and analysis of learning results are available to improve the problems following the application of standards. Furthermore, the ubiquitous learning environment can be supported by tracking down learning results when the network is cut off.

Development of Smoking Cessation Education Program for University Students Majoring in Health Sciences (보건학 전공 대학생 대상 금연교육 프로그램 개발)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to develop a smoking cessation education program and to provide basic data for evaluating program for university students majoring in health sciences. Methods: The education program was developed based on the instructional system design model(ADDIE), that was based on literature review, brainstorming, and interviews of related experts. Education program was implemented for 2 sessions of 3 hours to the 82 university students majoring in health science. Knowledge, competency, and self-efficacy for performance of smoking cessation were analyzed. One group pre- & post-test design was used for evaluation of this program. Results: In the analysis stage, a total of 5 duties, 16 tasks, and 55 task elements were derived. In the design and development stage, based on job analysis, education program contents were composed of understanding tobacco, planning and implementation of smoking cessation program, smoking cessation counseling and drug treatment. After this education program, students achieved remarkable improvement in increasing knowledge, competency, and self-efficacy for smoking cessation counselling and program. Conclusions: It is needed to be included the smoking cessation education in department related to health science regular course.

  • The purposes of this study were to be free from the fixed instruction and help students have confidence in computer education and improve finding a solution voluntarily. The researcher designed the project instruction of UCC to enhance the community spirit through understanding the problems and solving those. The results of this study are as follows. First, learner changed their consideration in social education. They changed positively the thought about computer education: Form It is tedious and a memoriter subject.' to 'It's fun and good to do by ourselves. Second, students interested in UCC and doing it more actively. Especially, they enhanced the skill of using informations in both on and off-line and community spirit through helping each team members. This shows possibility and availability in not only social studying but also various adaption in other subjects. The researcher provides it would be better if this developed model should be practiced in school and examined the effectiveness in other aspects. lastly in other to examine its validity of enhancing problem-solving and effectiveness of interaction in community, the standard questionnaire and testing tools will be developed in the future.

The Development of Software Teaching-Learning Model based on Machine Learning Platform (머신러닝 플랫폼을 활용한 소프트웨어 교수-학습 모형 개발)

  • The society we are living in has being changed to the age of the intelligent information society after passing through the knowledge-based information society in the early 21st century. In this study, we have developed the instructional model for software education based on the machine learning which is a field of artificial intelligence(AI) to enhance the core competencies of learners required in the intelligent information society. This model is focusing on enhancing the core competencies through the process of problem-solving as well as reducing the burden of learning about AI itself. The specific stages of the developed model are consisted of seven levels which are 'Problem Recognition and Analysis', 'Data Collection', 'Data Processing and Feature Extraction', 'ML Model Training and Evaluation', 'ML Programming', 'Application and Problem Solving', and 'Share and Feedback'. As a result of applying the developed model in this study, we were able to observe the positive response about learning from the students and parents. We hope that this research could suggest the future direction of not only the instructional design but also operation of software education program based on machine learning.

A Critical Review of Medical Humanities Education Curriculum Development Based on Kern's Curriculum Development Model (의료인문학 교육과정 개편에 대한 Kern의 교육과정개발 모델에 근거한 비판적 성찰)

  • Medical humanities education (MHE) is as essential as basic medical sciences and clinical medicine education. Despite the importance of MHE, MHE curriculum development (CD) has proven to be challenging. This critical review examines the MHE CD at one medical school. The critical review methodology was developed based on Kern's six step CD model to systematically examine the CD of "Doctoring and Medical Humanities (DMH)" at the Yonsei University College of Medicine. Five review questions were developed related to (1) necessity, (2) direction and purpose, (3) design, (4) operation, and (5) evaluation of CD based on Kern's model. The review showed that the process of DMH CD mapped to components of Kern's model. The DMH curriculum content selected was closely related to medical practice and aimed to combine the acquisition of understanding and skills by designing a student-participatory curriculum based on clinical cases. Assessment methods that emphasized students' reflections were actively introduced in the evaluation section. Since the regular committee for DMH continued the work of the special ad hoc committees for DMH CD, the CD was effectively completed. However, the planning and evaluation functions and responsibilities of the DMH committee need to be strengthened. Despite the apparent limitations, the fact that students showed a high satisfaction rate and preferred small group discussions based on clinical cases has significant implications in the instructional design of MHE, where changes in self-awareness and attitude are more important than the acquisition of information. It is necessary to systematically review and study students' reflection results produced by the changed assessment methods and to develop assessment indicators for MHE that reflect the achievements of the MHE competencies of students.

  • 지난해부터 인터넷 분야에서 가장 확실한 수익 모델을 갖춘 사업 분야로 e-Learning 분야가 손꼽히면서 많은 온라인 교육 서비스가 우후죽순처럼 등장해 이미 1,000여 개의 서비스가 각축을 벌이고 있다. 그러나 e-Learning은 무엇보다도 학습용 컨텐츠의 품질이 그 성패를 좌우한다 할 때 한국의 온라인 학습 컨텐츠의 품질은 부실하기 이를 데 없다는 게 중론이다. 이는 S/W 공학에서 S/W 품질 보장을 위해 개발 방법론이 중요한 것으로 인식되는 것과 이를 지원하기 위한 Method II등 여러 도구들이 보급되고 있는데 비해 학습 컨텐츠는 그 중요도와 개발이 복잡하고 정교함이 요구됨에도 불구하고 개발 방법론에 대한 인식과 개발방법론을 지원하기 위한 도구가 없음에 기인하는바 크다 할 수 있겠다. 아직까지 국내에서는 MacroMedia Director나 ToolBook, Authorware등 일반적인 저작 도구나 웹 기반의 컨텐츠를 제작하는 Dreamweaver등의 HTML Editor만 있으면 컨텐츠가 만들어 질 수 있는 것으로 착각하고 있는 경우가 많다. 교육 학습용 컨텐츠의 개발 주기를 살펴보면 요구 분석->교수 설계->저작->평가->배포의 단계를 거치게 되는데 이때 학습 컨텐츠의 품질은 사실 요구 분석과 교수 설계 단계에서 결정되게 되며 이 학습 컨텐츠의 품질을 결정하는 단계에서는 IT 분야 지식보다는 오히려 교육 공학적 지식이 더욱 요구된다. 그러나 현실적으로 이 단계의 절차적 복잡성과 전문성으로 인해 거의 대부분의 학습 컨텐츠들이 제대로 개발 주기를 거치지 못하고 검증되지 않은 스토리 보드에 의한 저작 단계로 바로 돌입하고 있는 것이 한국의 실정이라 하겠다. 따라서 본 프로젝트에 의해 개발 된 교수 설계 도구는 교육/학습 컨텐츠의 품질 보증을 위한 방법론인 교육 공학의 체제적 교수 설계 이론 Model (Instructional System Design Model), 특히 그 중에서도 이 분야의 사실상의 표준 이론(de facto standard)인 Dick & Carey 교수와 Gagne 교수의 인지주의 ISD Model을 기반으로 정교한 교수 설계와 코스 맵 설계를 가능하게 함으로써 학습 컨텐츠의 품질 보증 활동을 지원 할 수 있는 도구로 개발하였다. 특히 Linux 기반에서 PHP로 개발 함으로써 Platform에 구애받지 않은 사용 환경을 구현 하였으며 향후 많은 e-Learning Platform에 교수 설계 모듈로 장착 함으로써 기존의 e-Learning Platform들의 가치를 높일 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 생각한다.

  • 연구는 컴퓨터 교육을 위한 구조중심 수입설계모형 개발에 관한 것이다. 소프트웨어 공학에서 연구된 구조적 방법론을 통한 시스템의 분석과 설계의 아이디어와 Smith & Ragan의 수업설계모형을 토대로 구조중심 수업설계모형을 구안하였다. 이는 컴퓨터 활용교육에서 활용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 교과 내용학의 추상적이고 이론적인 내용에도 체계적이고 구조적 측면에서 접근하여 가르친다면 도움이 될 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 2015개정 교육과정에서 중학교 필수과목으로 지정된 정보교과에 플립러닝을 적용한 수업모형을 제안하고자 한다. 플립러닝은 전통적인 강의식 교수법을 뒤집은 수업모형으로 구성주의 관점에서 시작된 학생중심수업의 한계점을 개선하고 더욱 활발한 상호작용 중심 수업이 이루어지도록 하는 수업모형이다. 본 논문에서는 학생들의 학업성취 및 학습동기 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 수업모형을 설계하여 정보교과의 다양한 영역에서 사용가능한 플립러닝 설계 가이드라인을 제공하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구는 학습자 중심의 구성주의 학습 모형인 문제중심학습( Problem-Based Learning: PBL) 모형 개발을 통한 효과적인 HTML 학습 방안의 탐색을 위해 수행되었다. 초등학생이 HTML( Hyper Text Markup Language )학습을 통해 프로그래밍을 학습할 때 단순문법을 익히는 것을 넘어 프로그래밍 언어를 자율적이고 창의적으로 활용하기 위해서는 고차원적인 자기 주도적 학습 능력과 문제 해결 능력이 요구된다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 문제중심학습의 기존모형들이 갖고 있는 특징을 기반으로 하여 개발되었다. 본 연구의 문제중심학습의 절차는 문제와의 만남- 문제의 해결 전략 세우기- 문제 해결을 위한 정보수집- 문제의 해결 -평가 단계와 같다. 학습과정 에세이 기록을 통해 학습절차를 설계하고 과정을 돌이킬 수 있으며 피드백 과정을 통하여 학습의 결손을 방지하도록 하였다. 구성주의 학습 모형인 문제중심학습(PBL)을 HTML 언어교육에 적용 할 경우 학습자의 자기 주도적 학습 능력과 의사소통능력, 창의력 논리력을 키울 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
