  • This paper proposed the p-q-r coordinate system where the instantaneous active power p, and the two instantaneous reactive powers $q_{q}$, $q_{r}$ were defined. The three power components are linearly independent, so the compensation for the two instantaneous reactive powers leads to control the two components of the current space vector. With the theory, the neutral current of a three-phase four-wire system can be eliminated by only compensating the instantaneous reactive power using no energy storage element.

  • In this paper, the photovoltaic inverter system with instantaneous sinusoidal current tracking control is proposed to improve the utilization factor of photovoltaic power system which would be connected utility interactive system. The proposed inverter is designed to track maximum power point by two-state value control method and utility interactive operation, and to decrease output harmonics component. Optimal operating region is described by state space averaging method, and present tracking condition of standard guide line. The experimental result shows the effectiveness of inverter system using the instantaneous control method.

  • In this paper, a new speed sensorless control based on an instantaneous reactive power is proposed for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drives. In proposed algorithm, the current observer estimates the line currents and the estimated speed can be yielded from the voltage equation because the information of speed is included in back EMF. To implement speed sensorless control, the current observer is composed by using the voltage equation of the IPMSM in the stationary reference frame fixed to the stator. The estimated speed of the rotor is composed by using the voltage equation of the IPMSM in the rotating reference frame fixed to the rotor The estimated speeds to minimize the speed error compensated by using the instantaneous reactive power. The instantaneous reactive power is calculated on the rotating reference frame fixed to the rotor. The effectiveness of the preposed algorithm is confirmed by the experiments.

  • The design of ultrasonic transducer energy processing systems requires highly reliable command featuring mechanical frequency tracking and constant velocity control of the ultrasonic transducer with an acoustic load. This paper presents a new conceptional instantaneous current resultant control base high-frequency inverter using self turn-off devices driving an electrostrictive ultrasonic transducer system and its optimum control technique, which is implemented by feed-back of the ultrasonic transducer applied voltage and instantaneous velocity of the transducer vibrating system through a Phase-Locked-Loop control scheme. The feedback voltage corresponding to instantaneous velocity is averaged over a half-period with respect to constant amplitude/constant velocity control strategy. Described are the theory of this signal detection technique and the experimental set-up.

  • This paper presents a new control method of single-phase active power filter (APF) for the compensation of harmonic current components in nonlinear loads. To facilitate the possibility of complex calculation for harmonic current detection of the single phase, a single-phase system that has two phases was constructed by including an imaginary second-phase giving time delay to the load current. The imaginary phase, which lagged the load current T/4 (Here T is the fundamental cycle) is used in the conventional method. But in this proposed method, the new signal as the second phase is delayed by the filter. Because this control method is applied to a single-phase system, an instantaneous calculation was developed by using the rotating reference frames synchronized to source-frequency rather than by applying instantaneous reactive power theory that uses the conventional fixed reference frames. The control scheme of single-phase APF for the current source with R-L loads is applied to a laboratory prototype to verify the proposed control method.

  • This paper presents a simple current control strategy for matrix converters based on the extension of PWM method for inverters. A novel and efficient PWM algorithm is developed. The algorithm is verified through simulation and experiments employing a 2-kVA prototype. The results of simulation and experiment prove the instantaneous control capability of the output current with the sinusoidal input current.

  • This paper proposes a digital power control of the LLC resonant half-bridge inverter for high power microwave oven application. Conventional half-bridge inverter for driving a microwave oven uses a hardware-based power control method which varies the frequency according to the AC source voltage. In this case, it is difficult to control the output power according to the variation of the load status of magnetron. The proposed power control consists of an instantaneous current generator and a current controller. Instantaneous current generator makes an instantaneous current reference from power command using input voltage information. Current controller controls input current which has an information of status of magnetron. The proposed power control does not require any compensation algorithm for the change of the load status of the magnetron and change of input voltage. The validity of the proposed method for the control of the change of input voltage and frequency is verified by both simulation and experiment.

  • To get instantaneous reference data in a single power system with vector space phasors, the instantaneous load current is adopted as a phase and another new signal, which is delayed through filtering by the phase-delay property of a low-pass filter, is used as the secondary phase. Because the two-phases have a different phase, the instantaneous value of the harmonic current can be obtained without a time-delay in calculation. The reference voltage is created by multiplying the coefficient k by the compensation current using the rotating reference frame synchronized with the source-frequency. To verify the validity of the proposed control method, experiments are carried out on a prototype of the single-phase hybrid active power filter system.

  • This paper describes a current control of a single-phase PWM inverter. The proposed PWM inverter utilizes the instantaneous control method which is based on the real-time digital feedback control and the microprocessor-based deadbeat control. The deadbeat current controller is proposed to control the output current regardless of load component variations by the same method as voltage control. That is, in current control, with a very short sampling time and the successive feedback of the output current, the load current is mainly effected by the magnitude of load impedance rather than load component, the load current is mainly effected by the magnitude of load impedance rather than load component. Therefore, by treating the load as an impedance, the system's order is reduced and the instantaneous current control using the proposed deadeat controller is simplified.
