  • Developed is an optical auto-inspection system to detect some microscopic defects on the Inside surface of the hydraulic automobile brakes at the production line. A small cylindrical detection module with a solid laser source at its center has two rings of optical fibers to separately collect light reflected and scattered from the defects on the surface. The cylindrical brake part rotates with respect to the detection module that will move parallel to the rotational axis of the cylinder.   • A shock absorber rod is located in the center of the absorber piston and is responsible for the reciprocating movement portion. If it has surface defects, the damping performance of product will be adversely affected. A rod surface has gloss by heat treatment. Therefore, it is difficult to find a defect, such as dust, imprints, and blowholes. Because a total inspection is achieved by visual inspection by workers, it causes eyestrain and the quality of the product is not constant. In this paper, a machine vision system was developed to find a defect using a line-scan camera. The machine can detect surface defects than 0.3mm. To minimize the occurrence probability of defects on the inspection process, the developed auto inspection system had an automatic feeding system and incorporated a protection system. Through the development of this system, which relies on the operator's visual inspection of the surface of the shock absorber, the Rod inspection system constructed quality inspection standards and standardized tests to ensure improved reliability.

An Experimental Study on the Effect of Sensor Line Number on the Reactivity Characteristic of Corrosion Sensor Reactive with Chloride Ion to Immigrate into Concrete (콘크리트내로 침투하는 염소이온 반응형 부식센서의 응답특성에 미치는 센서 세선 수의 영향에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the sensor response and sensitivity is experimented and analyzed quantitatively by the line numbers of chlorine ion reaction type corrosion sensor that is developed. The sensor response of the developed corrosion sensor is verified with properties of chlorine ion. The multilineal sensor is shown a large resistance change more than the single line sensor by damage of the sensor. And, the resistance change of sensor is as large as high concentration of NaCl aqueous solution, the sensitivity of multilineal sensor is higher than single line sensor's, and the depth of sensor's location is as large as the increasing of resistance change time (cycle). These results suggest that, the developed corrosion sensor could sense corrosion reaction, sensor sensitivity and change of resistance for chloride ion. Especially, It was judged that 7 line sensor was the most superior for monitoring chloride ion immigration into concrete.

  • Detecting defects on FPD (Flat Panel Display) color filter before the full panel is made is important to reduce the manufacturing cost. Among many types of defects, the low contrast blemish such as Suzi Mura is difficult to detect using standard CCD cameras. Even skilled inspectors in the inspection line can hardly identify such defects using bare eyes. To overcome this difficulty, point spectrometer has been used to analyze the spectrum to differentiate such defects from normal color filters. However, scanning ever increasing-size color filters by a point spectrometer takes too long time to be used in real production line. We propose a system using a spectral camera which can be viewed as a line scan camera composed of an array of point spectrometers. Three types of lighting system that exhibit different illumination spectrums are devised together with a calibration method of the proposed spectral camera system. To visualize the defect areas, various processing algorithms to identify and to enhance the small differences in spectrum between defective and normal areas are developed. Experiments shows 85% successful visualization. of real samples using the proposed system.

  • In the new Seoul-Busan high speed railroad construction specially city center passage roadbed establishment is recommended the staibility for the existing subway tunnel segments of Busan subway line No. 1 and No.2. regarding the appearance condition, a quality condition and the durability of the objective facility site exact inspection, and it evaluates the numerical analysis which uses MIDAS GTS it leads and there is the objective of the place where the stability of the objective facility and this tunnel it investigates. To immediacy of the on-the-spot inspection result whole facility it is a condition where the reinforcement which is simple not to be hindrance is necessary, 2nd Line case it is a condition which transfer is good but the general defect and the damage which occur from the tunnel of NATM type were confirmed part. While roadbed establishment constructing that the continuous maintenance is necessary, it is judged. The result of 1st, 2nd Line maximum sinkage, unequal sinkage and the lining stress of numerical analysis are within permission and the damage degree is appearing with the fact that the degree it will can disregard it is slight. But it enforces necessary Pre-grouting in order to minimize an actual tunnel face conduct and when the tunnel is excavated it is judged with the fact that necessary to minimize the outflow possibility.

  • Robots used for pipe inspection have been studied for a long time and many mobile mechanisms have been proposed to achieve inspection tasks within pipelines. Localization is an important factor for an inpipe robot to perform successful autonomous operation. However, sensors such as GPS and beacons cannot be used because of the unique characteristics of inpipe conditions. In this paper, an inpipe localization algorithm based on elbow detection is presented. By processing the projected marker images of laser pointers and the attitude and heading data from an IMU, the odometer module of the robot determines whether the robot is within a straight pipe or an elbow and minimizes the integration error in the orientation. In addition, an off-line positioning algorithm has been performed with forward and backward estimation and Procrustes analysis. The experimental environment has consisted of several straight pipes and elbows, and a map of the pipeline has been constructed as the result.

  • American plum line pattern virus (APLPV), a member of the genus Ilarvirus in the family Bromoviridae, is one of the plant quarantine pathogens in Korea. In this study, 15 candidate primer sets were designed and examined to develop a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay for plant quarantine inspection of APLPV. Using APLPV-infected and healthy samples, the primer sets were assessed for APLPV detection. To confirm the occurrence of nonspecific reactions, six ilarviruses (Apple mosaic virus, Asparagus virus 2, Blueberry shock virus, Prune dwarf virus, Prunus necrotic ringspot virus, and Tobacco streak virus) and 10 target plants (Prunus mume, P. yedoensis, P. persica, P. armeniaca, P. dulcis, P. tomentosa, P. avium, P. glandulosa, P. salicina, and P. cerasifera) were examined. Finally, two primer sets were selected. These primer sets could generate the expected amplicons even with at least 1 ng of the total RNA template in concentration-dependent amplifications. In addition, a positive clone was developed for use as a positive control in the abovementioned RT-PCR assay.

  • In this paper it was written about the safety management plan for underground power transmission cable, and it guarantees the reliable electric power supply and facility management to prevent an electric disasters according to that. Recently fires which happens on OF Cable lead to a breakdown of power system and cause a power outage of wide area and serious social problems. So it needs an improvement of inspection ability on OF cable as well as a strict inspection system to prevent that problems in advance and it will bring us the development of electric safety management and the reliable electric power supply.

  • The catenaries must guarantee the constant electricity to the trains, so that the safety and the estimate of fatigue degree and the inspection of abrasion degree should be done rapidly. This thesis proposes the system that can manage the performance/failure of the catenaries using the image process as the solution for the weak points of the existing inspection such as the decrease of immediateness and the lack of constancy in the human resources. This study simulates the ALD using VHSV (Virture HSV) which is the unreal HSV images, not getting the real HSV in ages to the image processing technique that repeats the erosion and the expansion of the images as the methods that can monitor the slight/critical defects of the catenaries as dealing with the result of the catenaries inspection images. The final ALD (Abnormal Line Detection) system is designed based on this simulation. I have demonstrated it with the VHSV (Virture HSV) virtual images as the materials of the test and inspected it through testing the defects of the catenaries for the thesis.
