Most current machine vision systems for industrial inspection were developed with one specific task in mind. Hence, these systems are inflexible in the sense that they cannot easily be adapted to other applications. In this paper, a general vision system framework has been developed that can be easily adapted to a variety of industrial web inspection problems. The objective of this system is to automatically locate and identify \\\"defects\\\" on the surface of the material being inspected. This framework is designed to be robust, to be flexible, and to be as computationally simple as possible. To assure robustness this framework employs a combined strategy of top-down and bottom-up control, hierarchical defect models, and uncertain reasoning methods. To make this framework flexible, a modular Blackboard framework is employed. To minimize computational complexity the system incorporates a simple multi-thresholding segmentation scheme, a fuzzy logic focus of attention mechanism for scene analysis operations, and a partitioning if knowledge that allows concurrent parallel processing during recognition.cognition.

For the relationship between conformance cost and the individual elements of non-conformance, an analysis was made of the relationship between inspection cost and training cost and scrap cost. As a result it was explained that there was all a positive correlation between training cost and scrap cost, and between inspection cost and scrap cost. Like this, training and inspection cost and scrap cost have a positive correlation. Judging from the fact that the coefficient of inspection cost is lower than that of training cost in the comparison of the coefficient of each cost, it can be analyzed that the change in scrap cost is influenced by the change in training cost more greatly than the change in inspection cost. If doing so, it can be interpreted that scrap cost and rework cost do not still decrease in spite of increasing in education and training cost and prevention cost. This result may represent the problem as to whether education and training cost is effectively expended for prevention activity. Accordingly, to cope with this situation, it is thought that scrap cost should be cut by establishing the effective prevention measure for causing the increase of scrap cost.

In this study, we studied and analyzed 3,751 ships regarding detention list of Tokyo MOU from 2013 to 2015 total for 36 months. The Member Authorities of the MOU has 20 committee consists of Korea and Peru joined in 2015. 1,250 ships in a year and 140 ships in a month are granted PSC Action Code-30 corresponding to detention. Averagely, 30,943 ships in a year and 2,579 ships have been received PSC inspection. Additionally, according to this PSC inspection, rate of Detention reaches to 4.04%. When it comes to Korean Flag Ships however, the number of Detention ships of Tokyo MOU has been rather increased from 3 ships in 2013 to 18 ships during 2years. Furthermore, MOU in the all over the world, the number of ships had Detention has largely increased from 5 ships to 9 up-to 19ships. The number of Detention Ships has been reached to 44.8% of 1~2 days period of Detentions, under 3~10 days period of Detentions reaches to 34.7% and over 10 days detention reaches 10.3%, which cause economically enormous loss. Continually, each MOU has been implemented Concentrated Inspection Campaign(CIC) annually. Each MOU including Tokyo MOU implemented "Crew Familiarization for Enclosed Space Entry" for 3 month from september, and During this period, Concentrated Inspection were carried out to 8,429 ships of Tokyo MOU. Accordingly, If ships and owners can get the information of CIC and deliver the information to the ship, then Ships can minimize the rate of Detention by thoroughly preparing for PSC Inspection. In addition, Bulk Carrier and General Cargo ship occupy 50% of rate of Detention and it shows that majority of list among Nature of Deficiencies are identical. Finally, If we can obtain the information of the ships inspected previously, We can reduce the number of detention by preparing for PSC inspection. And this will be able to contribute to shipping industry also.
This study evaluated the effectiveness of a visiting inspection and knowledge-based food safety education program for cooks in child care facilities provided by the Center for Children's Foodservice Management (CCFSM). The research was conducted among cooks at 91 child care facilities; 56 existing facilities had been enrolled since 2011 and provided with the inspection and education program for 2 years and 35 new facilities were enrolled in 2012 and provided with the program for 1 year. The food safety knowledge of the cooks of the two groups were compared by the presence and duration of inspection and education programs provided by the CCFSM. The total mean score for food safety knowledge was $18.48{\pm}3.09$, with a group score of $19.34{\pm}2.68$ for the existing facilities and $17.11{\pm}3.25$ for the new facilities (P<0.001). There was no significant difference between groups in the knowledge of the personal sanitation. According to a post-test for food safety knowledge in the two groups after the completion of a one-year program on food safety by CCFSM, the mean score of food safety knowledge increased by 2.92 to 20.03 for cooks of the new facilities and both groups had significantly higher mean scores than pre-test (P<0.001). There was no significant difference in the mean score of each group by post-test. Thus, the one-year continuous program by CCFSM was effective in improving food safety knowledge of the cooks of the child care facilities.

Objectives: This study was conducted to explore the effect of the sexuality education in elementary school in regard to students' knowledge, attitude, and role identity about sex. Methods: We classified students into experimental group and control group, and carries out the planned sexuality education to the experimental group. Study subjects were 200 students in one elementary school. Experimental group compromised of 50 boys and 50 girls, and control group so did. Self-administered questionnaire was used for preliminary investigation from 15th to 16th, October in 2009. The post investigation was carried out to the control group 5 weeks later, and to the experimental group for 5 weeks (total 10 hours, 2hours each a week) after the sexuality education from 23th of November to 25th of November, 2009. Results: Experimental group had significantly higher post-inspection scores of sex-related knowledge, attitude against sex, sex-related role identity (excluding leadership dominance, concession, cheerfulness gentleness and sympathy shyness) than pre-inspection scores. Conversely, control group had insignificantly higher post-inspection scores (excluding all scores of sex-related knowledge and scores of atttitude against sex including psychological development and pregnancy). Conclusions: Our study suggested that sexuality education in elementary school have an impact on forming knowledge, attitude, and role identity regarding the sex.

In this paper, we propose an automatic display defect detection system using image processing. The existing inspection by operators has the disadvantage that human errors may occur due to the operator's skill level, fatigue, etc., and that standardization and quantification are difficult. It also has disadvantages such as the limited inspection speed and the cost of the operator's education. The proposed system automatically detects various display defects through image processing algorithms. It was developed based on the Jetson Nano, one of the most popular SBCs (Single Board Computers), and it has a conveyor belt to automatically moves the display to the inspection position. By providing a human machine interface (HMI), the operator can check the inspection information in real time, and control the inspection flow. By storing the inspection results as a log file, the operator can check the inspection results at any time, such as the time taken to perform each algorithm and the location of the detected defects. In addition, a multi-threaded structure was adopted. The camera's operations and inspection algorithms are executed in parallel in different threads, which can shorten the inspection time compared to the system based on a single-threaded structure. The experimental results prove the defect detection capability of the system and the efficiency of the inspection time.

Objectives: This study identified the general characteristics of asbestos inspection/analysis laboratories in Korea and confirmed the actual situations in terms of technical aspects from these characteristics. In addition, given the background of the current problem, it offers preliminary data for determining future plans for improvement. Methods: A questionnaire was developed and distributed to the asbestos inspection/analysis laboratories that used the ISO/IEC 17025 for asbestos sampling and testing by UKAS(United Kingdom Accreditation Service) and the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme(KOLAS). A total of 202 institutions in Korea were selected for the study and 145(71.8%) questionnaires were returned. Results: The number of personnel of the surveyed institutions averaged $4.2{\pm}2$ and 79.3% operated with less than five persons. In terms of education, the capital and other densely populated areas showed a high level of education(p<0.05). The level of education and facilities were determined by the magnitude of the institution(p<0.05). Institutions managed by highly educated directors were well-stocked with education and facilities(p<0.05). Institutions which had directors with considerable experiences received high scores overall and in particular higher scores in terms of education and facilities(p<0.05). At the level of the bottom five percent, the factor of education was 40.4% while the factor of measurement 49%, the factor of analysis 59%, the factor of facilities 61%, and the factor of survey 81%, respectively. Conclusions: To improve the quality of the institutions, in the short term, the problems identified in this study can be used to revise the related regulations. In the long term, a grading system of survey institutions needs to be established through the introduction of an accreditation system. However, the ongoing support of a government agency is required, including holding seminars and open education, suggesting guidelines for operation of asbestos inspection/analysis labs, and other means.
This study was aimed to investigate the actual condition of the performance of the occupational health nursing services, and to analyze a main cause which affects on the execution of its duties for occupational health nurses in occupational group health service. It had been surveyed by responsed data from the 105 respondents out of 180 persons. The results were as follows : 1. In performance of occupational health nursing services by the number of assigned plant, participation rate of health examination tended to significantly increase with decreasing the number of assigned and it was observed that the visiting rate of every month was also significantly higher on touring inspection of work plant, recommendation of facility improvement for work environment, understanding the modification of manufacturing process, and inspection of welfare and sanitation facilities. 2. While they executed their nursing services according to duration of service, the more, their duration of service was, the higher, participation rate of health examination, health check in returning to work for injured workers, talk with other health managers on promoting welfare, service evaluation for a year plan, record of health statistic, and experience of first aid service were. And it was found out that the visiting rate of every month was also significantly higher on touring inspection of work plant. 3. In regard to occupational health nursing services by age, the participation rate of health examination and the experience of first aid service were significantly higher as the age increased. And also the visiting rate of every month was significantly higher on touring inspection of work plant, compared with young ones. 4. In performance of occupational health nursing services by the time required visiting plant, The shorter, the time required visiting plant was, the higher, the visiting rate of every month was, on time of health consultation for diseased workers, and inspection of welfare and sanitation facilities. 5. The subjects of health education were mostly liver disease and occupational hearing loss and video tape was used mostly in health education, monthly health education was the highest in 1-3 times(74.5%) and its duration was the highest in about 60 minutes(33.3%). 6. Vaccination of hepatitis among the specific health services was the highest accounting for 64.7%.

Coil spring of automobile suspension system is very important to safety and dynamics of passenger car and requires a highly advanced quality control during manufacturing processes. Surface cracks on the coil spring rod produced by mechanical machining and heat treatment may cause a severe accident and large cost to the manufacturer. In order to detect surface cracks of the rod, guided wave technique is applied for a fast total volumetric inspection. Pochhammer equation is studied to investigate the dispersion characteristics of the guided wave in the spring rod and optimal wave modes sensitive to the surface crack are selected experimentally to design the experimental arrangement for the generation of guided wave. Rod samples with different size of artificial axial EDM notch on the surface ranging from 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 1 mm are examined by guided wave and inspection results discussed.
Electronics in modern lives have become more miniaturized and precise. Multi Layered Ceramic Capacitor (MLCC) occupies 50% of electronic components consisting of electronics. This high volume of the production needs high speed and more precise machine performances. The dominate parts of the production equipments are the module transporting components and the visual inspection module. Most visual inspection has been off-line because of the image processing time. In this paper, a new image processing method is proposed to reduce thousands of matrix calculation for image processing and realize on-line high speed inspection.
