In order to improve incombustibility of EPDM(Ethylene propylene diene monomer)-based rubber, inorganic materials as $Al(OH)_3$ and $Sb_2O_3$ were added. The mechanical and thermal properties have been measured for vulcanized rubber loaded with different concentrations of $Al(OH)_3$ and $Sb_2O_3$. As inorganic material contents increases from 5phr to 30phr, the specific gravity and hardness increase while elongation at break decreases. This study performed incombustibility test and thermal analysis through TGA(Thermogravimetric Analyzer). As a results, incombustible and thermal properties of EPDM-based rubber were improved as $Al(OH)_3$ and $Sb_2O_3$ contents increase.

[ $LiFePO_4$ ] is one of the promising materials for cathode material of secondary lithium batteries due to its high energy density, low cost, environmental friendliness and safety. $LiFePO_4$ was synthesized by the solid-state reaction method at 500 - 800°C. The crystal structure of $LiFePO_4$ was analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction. The samples synthesized at 600 and $700^{\circ}C$ showed a single phase of a olivine structure. The particle sizes were increased and the specific surface areas were decreased with heating temperatures. The electrochemical performance was investigated by coin cell test. The discharge capacities at 0.1 C-rate were 118 mAh/g and 112 mAh/g at $600^{\circ}C,\;700^{\circ}C$, respectively. In an attempt to improve the electrical conductivity of cathode materials, $LiFePO_4/graphite$ composite was prepared with various graphite contents. The electrical conductivity and discharge capacity were increased with increasing the graphite contents in composite samples. The rate capabilities at high current densities were also improved.

Ground water samples of 275 were collected from Gapyeong county which it contained six-eup and myeon and analyzed for 12 mineral inorganics extending from March to October in 2004. Among the inorganics, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Copper and Zinc had more than $70\%$ of detection frequencies, which coincided with essential inorganics required by the human body. The average values of inorganic contents by sampling sites were insignificant. Fluorine contents of 8 samples, $2.9\%$ of 275 samples, exceeded KDWR, and it was considered to be affected by a base rock being made up granite and gneiss because there were not polluting sources around. It is necessary to find out relation between geological characteristics and mineral inorganics in ground water through the further investigation. Compared to noted concentrations of bottled water, inorganic minerals including Calcium, magnesium, Sodium and Potassium related to taste were fluent double in target samples and those average concentrations were 14.80, 3.80, 7.60, and $2.31\cal{mg/L}$ respectively.
The physical properties and heavy metal content in rices that were grown in different conditions were compared; two paddy rices grown in irrigated water and a Jeju rice grown in dry field without irrigation. The pasting properties, color, or amylopectin chain length distribution were different, however, they were independent of growing conditions. For heavy metals such as Pb or Cd, Jeju rice showed similar content to paddy rices. However, total and inorganic arsenic (As) contents were much lower; for Jeju rice, the total arsenic content was only 10.1-17.9% of that in two paddy rices, and the inorganic arsenic was just corresponding to 15% of that in paddy rice. The inorganic arsenic content decreased by 34.1, 23.8, and 17.5% in paddy rice by soaking, cooking, and dripping with hot water, respectively.
1.Each cells homogenized from Undaria were reacted in reaction micture to persue the phosphate metabolism in Undaria cell. Aliquots of the cells were taken out at the begin-ning and at intervals during the reaction, and analyzed for the content of total-P in various fractions of the cell constituents. 2.The P-contents in fraction of polyphosphate "B" decreased remarkably, while that in fraction of RNA polyphosphate "C" showed slow increase. 3.As well as in Chlorella cells, inorganic phosphates in DNA-P, protein-P, and lipid-P were transferred from polyphosphate, RNA-P turnovered from inorganic phosphate that is in cytoplasm, and RNA polyphosphate complex from polyphosphate, and it was suggested that inorganic phosphates in polyphosphate "B" could transformed into polyphosphate "A" & "C", and polyphosphate "C" into polyphosphate "A".
To determine the optimum application of fertilizers for the cultivation of tomato in plastic film house, eighteen soils which contained different salt contents were taken from four different areas under plastic film house cultivation, Youngdong, Boeun, Cheongweon county, and Cheongju city. The dry weight and the amount of N, P, and K uptakes of tomato in the plot with no fertilization were considered as the factors representing the fertility of the soil. The differences in the dry weight and in the amounts of N, P, and K uptakes of plants between the plots with fertilization and with no fertilization were considered as the factors representing the total effect of fertilizer and the effects of fertilizer N, P, and K, respectively. These factors of soil fertility and fertilizer effects were estimated by correlation and regression with the chemical properties of the soil in order to find the critical levels and recommended method for optimum fertilization of tomato. The standardized partial regression coefficients of inorganic nitrogen ($NO_3-N+NH_4-N$) contents in soil for the factors of fertility ranged from 247 to 1,159, showing the best, while those of the others ranged from 0.02 to 4.02. Those of inorganic nitrogen ($NO_3-N+NH_4-N$) contents in soil for the electrical conductivity were also the best and were ranged from 35.2 to 36.0 compared with the values of less than 1.0 of the others. These results demonstrate that the content of inorganic nitrogen in the soil is the best index for both soil fertility and electrical conductivity of the soil. The critical level of inorganic nitrogen ($NO_3-N+NH_4-N$) in the soil for maximum productivity with zero value of fertilizer effects for tomato, estimated through Cate-Nelson split method was $220mg\;kg^{-1}$. This was the same value as evaluation for the cultivation of chinese cabbage. In conclusion, for optimal application of fertilizer in plastic film house, 1) no fertilization is recommended when the contents of inorganic nitrogen in the soil is more than $220mg\;kg^{-1}$; however, 2) in the case of less than $220mg\;kg^{-1}$ of inorganic nitrogen content in the soil, the optimal level of fertilization could be estimated through the regression equation between fertilizer effects and content of inorganic nitrogen in the soil.
This study was carried out to obtain a basic informations for the improvement of human health and the development of variety through analysis of inorganic compounds, contents of amino acids and saccharids to three elephant- foots (Amporphophallus Konjac. K) collected from Kumsan, Japan and China. Mannan as a carbohydrate of major component of an elephant-food was slightly high in Kumsan than that of Japan and China variety. Degree of viscosity of an elephant-foot depends upon the soluble free sugar contents and amino acid, contents of these free sugars were high in the order of Kumsan, China and Japan elephant-foot powder. Results of analysis of inorganic compounds to an elephant-foot used; Kumsan variety was shown to be high than those of China and Japan, especially. K, P and Fe in Kumsan variety were high, while Na and Ca were appeared to be high in China elephant-foot.

Halophyte and shellfish are functional and favorite foods in Korea. This study was conducted to survey the contents of inorganic metals to elucidate seafood hygiene & safety. The average concentrations of heavy metals in the halophyte and shellfish were 1.73, and 1.54 ppb of Cd and 47.37, 25.06ppm of Cu, respectively. Average contents of Hg in halophytes was 0.26 ppb and 50.43 ppb in shellfish. In case of minerals, the average concentrations were 4,475.62, 4,440.54 ppm of Ca, and 3,936.16, 1,227.09 ppm of Fe, 2,145.36, 6.170.60 ppm of P. and 314.53, 162.11 ppm of Zn, respectively. The average values of heavy metals were all below the permissible amounts in food but minerals showed high levels in halophyte and shellfish.
Various methods for assessing soil total nitrogen (TN) and inorganic N content have been developed to manage nutrient and to understand N cycle in soil. This paper address the technical procedures in arable soil samples to conduct soil sampling, sample preparation, and measuring total N and inorganic N. Among various methods for measuring soil total nitrogen contents, Kjeldahl distillation and Indophenol blue method have widely used due to reliability and economic advances. Also, two methods can analyze more samples at the same time compared with other nitrogen measuring methods. For evaluating inorganic N content, mainly in forms of nitrate-N ($NO_3{^-}-N$) and ammonium-N ($NH_4{^+}-N$), extraction with a single reagent such as 2M KCl has been employed, followed by Kjeldahl distillation or indophenol blue methods.
