This study investigated to recycle geobond and ash produced in thesewage sludge incinerator using reduction/stabilization. Nonsintering process was performed by binding cement (High Early Strength Portland cement, Micro cement), geobond and sand mixed with sewage sludge ash (SSA). Chemical ingradients of the sewage sludge ash was mainly composed of $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, CaO and others, which were similar to those of the each binders consisting High Early Strength Portland cement, Micro cement and geobond. Results showed that unconfined the long term compressive strength could be obtained components of sewage sludge ash. It exceeded more than double score 64.6 MPa of the Korean standard ($22.54MPa=229.7kg/cm^2$). Microstructure of solidified block for the different admixture was related to the compressive strength according to SEM analysis. Optimum mixing range of the sewage sludge ash to each binders were found to be 10~40% which can widly safely regulate the confined a long term compressive strength. The best binder of long term compressive strengh was revealed Geobond more than High Early Strength Portland cement and Micro cement. This study revealed the sewage sludge ash can be partial replacement of the inorganic binder & application block for recycling.

To evaluate the properties of inorganic composites using a great quantity of high-calcium fly ash generated in combined heat and power plants, high-calcium fly ash and F-class fly ash commonly used as concrete admixtures were substituted with binding materials to examine changes of fluidity and compressive strength depending on the substitution ratio for each curing temperature. According to the experimental result, CFA-mixed mortar showed a tendency to reduce its flow unlike FFA-mixed mortar as the substitution ratio was increased, but its flow loss showed smaller than FFA as time passed. As a result of examining compressive strength depending on mixing FA, FFA-mixed mortar had an optimum range within 50% when curing at ambient temperature, but it was found that the compressive strength is reduced when mixing CFA. When curing at high temperature, FFA did not relatively have a great effect on the substitution ratio, but CFA could expect a strength enhancement effect compared with 100% of OPC when using within 25% of binding materials.

Performance for the resistant to chlorides penetration is required in order to increase durability of seaside construction. For this reason, it is important to acquire simultaneously watertightness, resistance for crack of concrete and chemical fixation effect of chloride in it. In this study, High durability promoting agents(HD) consist of inorganic salt and active components were applied to enhancing resistance for chloride ion penetration against concrete based on mix(composition of binder : OPC+SLG) of seaside construction. Tang's experimental method was utilized to investigate the resistances of chloride ion penetration of concrete such as chloride ion diffusion coefficient and penetration depth. It was confirmed that resistance of chloride ion penetration of concrete by 0.6% addition of HD was improved to $11.3^{\sim}20.5$% than non-added concrete.

Water qualities in the decentralized water treatment plants do not frequently satisfy the water standard limit, in particular, fluoride and nitrate are notorious for the poor removal. In this study, an electro-adsorption equipped with carbon nonotube (CNT) electrodes were carried out to effectively remove the nitrate and fluoride in the decentralized water treatment plants. Two types of CNT electrodes, coating and sintering electrodes were applied. Coating electrodes were made based on different kinds of binder and sintering electrodes were made based on different sintering temperature. Removal of fluoride and nitrate when the coated electrodes with organic binder were used for electro-adsorption were 46 and 99.9% respectively, which were better performances than the coated electrodes with inorganic binder were used. On the other hand, removal of fluoride and nitrate when the electrodes sintered at higher temperature ($1,000^{\circ}C$) were 77 and 87% respectively, which were better performances than the electrodes sintered at lower temperature ($850^{\circ}C$). As a consequences, the electro-adsorption equipped with a CNT electrodes could be an potential alternative process for the removal of fluoride and nitrate in a decentralized water treatment plants if proper current density and contact time were applied.
The technicals of KC-7079, isoprothiolane, perfluidone and tricyclazole were granulated with a mixture of inorganic carrier and oil-soluble binder, that is, stearly alcohol or ethyl cellulose. The concentration of the released active ingredient from the granules was analyzed at several days intervals after immersion of these granules in water at $25^{\circ}C$. At the content of stearyl alcohol less than $80g\;kg^{-1}$, the granule kneaded with stearyl alcohol mixture and water disintegrated in water. But the granule kneaded with methanol disintegrated in water at the content of stearyl alcohol less than $30g\;kg^{-1}$. The less the KC-7079-stearyl alcohol granule disintegrated, the slower the release rate of KC-7079 was. No matter how was increased the stearyl alcohol content, the release rate of KC-7079 granule which did not disintegrate was not significantly changed. The sustained releasing effect of the granules was little in the other three pesticides of which the water solubility was higher than of KC-7079(21 ppm). The granule made of ethyl cellulose did not disintegrate even at $5g\;kg^{-1}$ of ethyl cellulose. With the increase of ethyl cellulose content and the decrease of active ingredient in the granules, the sustaining effect of the granules on releasing acitive ingredient was increased. The lower the water solubility of pesticide was, the release rate tended to be sustained except perfluidone.
Catalytic combustion is one of the suitable methods for micro power source due to high energy density and no flame quenching. Catalyst loading in the micro structured combustion chamber is one of the most important issues in the development of micro catalytic combustors. In this research, to coat catalyst on the chamber wall, two methods were investigated. First, $Al_2O_3$ was selected as a support of Pt and $Pt/Al_2O_3$ was synthesized through the alumina sol-gel procedure. To improve the coating thickness and adhesion between catalyst and substrate, heat resistant and water solvable organic-inorganic hybrid binder was used. Porous silicon was also investigated as a catalyst support for platinum. Through the parametric studies of current density and etching time, fabrication process of $1{\sim}2{\mu}m$ of diameter and about $25{\mu}m$ depth pores was confirmed. Coated substrates were test in the micro channel combustor which was fabricated by the wet etching and machining of SUS 304. Using $Pt/Al_2O_3$ coated substrate and Pt coated porous silicon substrate, conversion rate of fuel was over 95% for $H_2$/Air premixed gas.

Powder injection molding (PIM) uses the shaping advantage of injection molding but is applicable to metals and ceramics. This process combines a small quantity of polymer with an inorganic powder to form a feedstock that can be molded. After shaping, the polymeric binder is extracted and the powder is sintered often to near-theoretical densities. Accordingly, PIM delivers structural materials in a shaping technology previously restricted to polymers. The process overcomes the shape limitations of traditional powder compaction, the costs of machining, the productivity limits of isostatic pressing and slip casting, and the defect and tolerance limitations of casting. The 17-4 PH stainless steel powders with average diameter of $10{\mu}m$ were injection-molded into flat tensile specimens. Sintering of the compacts was carried out at the various temperatures ranging from 900 to $1350^{\circ}C$. Sintering behavior of the compacts and tensile properties of sintered specimens were investigated.

Portland cement has been restricted in applications to ecological area because of its environmental harmfulness and the $CO_2$ emission during a production process. Geopolymer materials attract some attention as an inorganic binder due to their superior mechanical and eco-friendly properties. In this study, geopolymer-based cement was prepared by using aluminosilicate minerals (flyash, meta-kaolin) with alkaline-activators and its compressive strength with concentration of alkaline-activators was investigated. Aluminosilicate-based geopolymers were obtained by mixing aluminosilicate minerals, alkaline solution (NaOH or KOH with different concentration) and water-glass under the vigorous stirring for 20 min. Compressive strength after curing at $30^{\circ}C$ for 3 days increased with the concentration of alkaline-activator due to the enhanced polymerization of the aluminosilicate materials and dense microstructure. Aluminosilicate-based geopolymer cement using KOH as an alkaline-activator showed high compressive strength compared with NaOH activator. In addition, geopolymer cement using fly-ash as a raw material showed higher compressive strength than that of meta-kaolin.
In this study, the effects of two materials, active alumina and CaO based inorganic binder, which cause the side reaction on the K2CO3-based solid CO2 sorbents was investigated. K2CO3-based solid sorbents called KAM series was prepared by spray drying method and then measured its physical properties and CO2 sorption capacity. Among the KAM series sorbents, KAM(0.5) maintained high CO2 sorption capacity of 7.6 wt% after 3 cycle of sorption/regeneration reaction and showed very low attrition loss as low as 3.1 % which was measured by ASTM D5757-95.
$Y_2Ti_2O_7$ nanoparticles (0.3 mol%) have been successfully synthesized by the co-precipitation process. The samples, adjusted to pH7 with ammonia solution as catalyst and calcined at $700{\sim}900^{\circ}C$, exhibit very fine particles with close to spherical shape and average size of 10-30 nm. It was possible to control the size of the synthesized $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ particles by manipulating the conditions. The $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ nanoparticles were coated on a glass substrate by a dipping coating process with inorganic binder. The $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ solution coated on the glass substrate had excellent adhesion of 5B; pencil hardness test results indicated an excellent hardness of 6H. The thickness of the thick film was about $30{\mu}m$. Decomposition of MB on the $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ thin film shows that the photocatalytic properties were excellent.
