한국형 보행자 사고재현 모형 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Korean Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction Model)

  • 교통사고 중 차대보행자 사고의 원인분석은 차대차 사고에 비해 관련 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 국내에서도 차대차 사고의 경우에는 실차충돌실험을 통해 많은 자료를 축척하고 이를 체계화하여 다각적인 방법으로 실제 교통사고에 적용하려는 노력이 있으나 차대보행자 사고의 경우에는 아직 시작단계라고 볼 수 있다. 선진국에서는 차대보행자 사고에 대하여 더미를 이용한 실차충돌실험을 통해 많은 모형을 개발하였고, 이를 보행자사고의 정확한 원인분석을 위해 활용하고 있다. 국내에서는 차대보행자 사고의 해석과 관련된 모형이 개발되지 않아 외국의 모형을 그대로 활용하는 것이 일반적이다. 그러나 외국의 모형을 이용하게 되면 차량과 보행자의 체위특성이 다른 경우 왜곡된 결과가 도출될 가능성이 많게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 그 동안 수집된 보행자 사고자료를 이용하여 국내 실정에 적합한 차대보행자 충돌모형을 개발하였다. 그 결과 차량의 속도에 따라 외국의 모형과는 다소 상이한 결과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 외국의 모형 중에서는 차량 및 보행자의 체위 특성이 유사한 일본의 모형과 가장 흡사한 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구 결과는 수십개의 자료를 이용한 것으로 장래에 보다 폭넓은 자료를 통하여 모형의 신뢰성을 높이는 노력이 필요하다고 판단된다.

차량크레인 전도 사고의 구조 안정성 평가에 관한 법공학적 연구 (Forensic Engineering Study on the Evaluation of the Structural Stability of the Mobile Crane Accident)

  • Forensic Engineering is the area covering the investigation of products, structures that fail to perform or do not function as intended, causing personal injury or damage to property. To investigate the mobile crane's overturn accident in terms of the forensic engineering, in this study, we identified the accident mobile crane's position and posture before accident by the analysis of the trace resulted by the contact between the outrigger and the ground, and the accident remodeling has been performed using CATIA modeling program in the basis of the accident mobile crane's position and posture information. The accident analysis has been performed by comparing this accident remodeling and the crane's specification, the table of the allowance load about the boom's length and the working radius. Through these studies, the safety accident that may occur in mobile crane can be minimized by performing specialized and systematic investigation of the accident cause in terms of the forensic engineering.

  • The rehabilitation for the workplace accident victims is basically aimed to get them back to their working place through the secondary care processes which have some more special and more professional rehabilitation than any others, after the primary treatments like operation in an acute hospital since the accident. They need more concentrative rehabilitation efforts according to classified injury types during the period of acute, sub-acute and convalescent. This study is for the partial research of rehabilitation hospital for workers' accident victims and presents design data which can be used for the appropriate area calculation and spatial composition. Drawing documents analysis, interviews, observation were used to examine the condition of existing rehabilitation hospitals.

어선사고의 원인분석 및 예방대책에 관한 연구 (Cause Analysis and Prevention of fishing Vessels Accident)

  • The injury accidents in fishing vessels account for $67.2\%$ of all marine injury casualties$(1997\~2001)$ and is on an increasing trend every year. Also, it is remarkable for the injury accidents to be basically caused by human errors. This study aims to investigate the human error of injury accidents in fishing vessels and presents the injury preventing program in them. Human errors were analysed by the methods such as SHELL & Reason Hybrid Model, GEMS Model adopted by International Maritime Organization(IMO). Based on the analysis, the following propositions were made to reduce the fishing vessels accidents by human errors : improvement of hazard awareness and quality of personnel, establishment of safety management system, and enforcement of vessels inspection.

  • Forensic Engineering is the area covering the investigation of products, structures that fail to perform or do not function as intended, causing personal injury or damage to property. To investigate explosion accident of the centrifugal casting machine in terms of the forensic engineering, in this paper, the computing simulation using ADINA FSI has performed to investigate that the effect of the Check-Pin fracture by the flow phenomena and molten metal weight and the mechanical properties test of the accident Check-Pin has performed using the instrumented indentation technique. Through these studies, the safety accident that may occur in centrifugal casting machine can be minimized by performing specialized and systematic investigation of the accident cause in terms of the forensic engineering.

  • Just in case a patient's state couldn't get better or get even worse after medical practices, it is difficult for the patient's side to accept the result and it tends to think that its damage is caused by his doctor's malpractice. Medical practices of a doctor require highly advanced attention duty as a medical expert, because they are targeted at a human body of the best benefit and protection of the law. However, it is hard to prove the malpractice on the patient's side in medical dispute. Therefore, to solve a medical dispute quickly and fairly before the medical suit Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) has done a medical dispute adjustment business since 1999. For the past 5 years (2006~2010), the medical team of KCA had managed 4,171 cases as an injury relief, but it had dealt with them focusing on an injury relief business only after the occurrence of a medical accident. Afterwards, it is necessary to expand the range of its services in purpose of preventing the injury of consumers. If we can solve the problems -the clear statements about the cease of extinctive prescription in the fundamentals of comsumer act, the presence of parties directly concerned at comsumer dispute adjustment committee, and the effect of an agreement, etc. -, which have been founded in medical injury relief service of KCA and the management and procedures of the comsumer dispute adjustment committee of KCA and if we can also give KCA more workers and the proper budget of the government, we can expect KCA to become a more useful agency.

Utility of Spinal Injury Diagnosis Using C-Spine Lateral X-Ray and Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis Computed Tomography in Major Trauma Patients with Impaired Consciousness

  • Purpose: The regional emergency medical centers manage the patients with major blunt trauma according to the process appropriate to each hospital rather than standardized protocol of the major trauma centers. The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and influence on prognosis of additional cervical-thoracic-lumbar-spine computed tomography (CTL-spine CT) scan in diagnosis of spinal injury from the victim of major blunt trauma with impaired consciousness. Methods: The study included patients visited the urban emergency medical center with major blunt trauma who were over 18 years of age from January 2013 to December 2016. Data were collected from retrospective review of medical records. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value were measured for evaluation of the performance of diagnostic methods. Results: One hundred patients with Glasgow coma scale ${\leq}13$ underwent additional CTL-spine CT scan. Mechanism of injury was in the following order: driver, pedestrian traffic accident, fall and passenger accident. Thirty-one patients were diagnosed of spinal injury, six of them underwent surgical management. The sensitivity of chest, abdomen and pelvis CT (CAP CT) was 72%, specificity 97%, false positive rate 3%, false negative rate 28% and diagnostic accuracy 87%. Eleven patients were not diagnosed of spinal injury with CAP CT and C-spine lateral view, but all of them were diagnosed of stable fractures. Conclusions: C-spine CT scan be actively considered in the initial examination process. When CAP CT scan is performed in major blunt trauma patients with impaired consciousness, CTL-spine CT scan or simple spinal radiography has no significant effect on the prognosis of the patient and can be performed if necessary.

의무기록 정보를 활용한 노인 오토바이 운수사고의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Motorcycle Accident among Korean Elderly using Medical Record Information)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노인 오토바이 운수사고 입원환자의 노인분류에 따른 특성을 분석하여 노인 오토바이 운수사고의 손상 예방 대책을 마련하기 위한 기초자료의 제공에 있다. 2015년~2019년의 질병관리청 퇴원손상심층조사 자료 중 오토바이 운수사고로 입원한 노인 입원환자 1,384명을 대상으로 카이제곱검정, 독립표본 t-검정, 정준상관분석을 실시하였다. 진료 및 치료 정보 특성은 연소 노인과 고령 노인 모두 두개내 손상(S06)이 많았고, 손상 부위와 손상 유형은 각각 머리/목, 골절이 가장 많았다. 손상 발생 장소는 길/간선도로, 손상 시 활동은 이동중이 가장 많았다. 이상의 연구결과로 볼 때, 노인 오토바이 운수사고의 특성을 파악하여 이들을 집중적으로 관리하기 위한 국가적 차원의 예방 교육 및 정책 수립이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 이 연구는 손상 예방과 감소를 위한 대책 마련 및 정책 개발에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Delayed Surgical Management of Traumatic Pseudoaneurysm of the Ascending Aorta in Multiple Trauma

  • Traumatic blunt aortic injury especially on proximal ascending aorta is a rare injury with a few reports. Generally emergency surgical management was performed. In this case, however, in multiple trauma with brain injury, emergency surgical management of aortic injury might result in unexpected secondary injury of the brain. Herein, we report a case of a 33-year-old man who was driving a truck was injured in a head-on collision. Evaluation revealed a pseudoaneurysm on his ascending aorta concomitant with epidural hemorrhage. He was treated by surgical management of his ascending aorta after 3 days from accident. There were no postoperative and neurologic complications and the patient was discharged after 18 days.

보행자 다리상해 영향요인 분석 (Analysis of Factors Affecting Pedestrian Leg Injury Severity)

  • This study analyzed contributing factors affecting leg injury severity in pedestrian-vehicle crashes. A Binary Logistic Regression (BLR) method was used to identify the factors. Independent variables include characteristics for pedestrian, vehicle, road, and environmental conditions. The leg injury severity is classified into two classes, which are dependent variables in this study, such as 'severe' and 'minor' injuries. Pedestrian age, collision speed, and the height of vehicle were identified as significant factors for the leg injury. The probabilistic outcome of predicting leg injury severity can be effectively used in not only deriving pedestrian-related safety policies but also developing advanced vehicular technologies for pedestrian protection.
