Fundamental Aspects of Resistance Sintering under Ultrahigh Pressure Consolidation

  • The consolidation results of fine tungsten powders, W-Cu composite and W/Cu FGM by using a novel method combining resistance sintering with ultra high pressure have been reviewed. The densification effects of the consolidation parameters, including pressure, input power and sintering time, have been investigated. The sintering mechanism of this method was quite different from other sintering methods. Particle rearrangement, sliding, distortion and crushing due to the ultra high pressure are the dominant mehanisms at the initial stage, then the dominant sintering mechanisms are transient arc-fused processes controlled by the input power.

  • A cylindrical constant volume combustion chamber was used to investigate the flow characteristics at spark plug and the combustion characteristics of inhomogeneous charge methane-air mixture under several parameters. The flow characteristics such as mean velocity and turbulence intensity was analyzed by hot wire anemometer. Combustion pressure development measured by piezoelectric pressure transducer was used to investigate the effect of initial charge pressure, excess air ratio and ignition times on combustion pressure and combustion duration. Mean velocity and turbulence intensity had the maximum value at 200 or 300ms and then decreased to beneath 0.05m/s gradually at 3 seconds. Second mixture is accompanied by an increase in the combustion rate, and that the higher the mass which is added in the second stage injection, the faster the burn rate.

  • This study is to investigate the pressure wave characteristics and the maximum pressure rise generated by instantaneous valve closure at the end of the straightening polybutylene double piping system with header. Experiments were conducted under the following conditions: initial pressure $0.1{\sim}0.5$ MFa, flow velocity $0.5{\sim}3.0$ m/s and water temperature $25^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper presents a numerical prediction of the transient hydraulic loads acting on the tubes and external supports of a pressurized water reactor (PWR) steam generator (SG) during blowdown following a sudden feedwater line break (FWLB). A simplified SG model was used to easily demonstrate the prediction. The blowdown discharge flow was treated as a flashing flow to realistically simulate the transient flow fields inside the SG and the connected broken feedwater pipe. The effects of the SG initial pressure or the broken feedwater pipe length on the intensities or magnitudes of transient hydraulic loads were investigated. Then predictions of the decompression pressure wave-induced impulsive pressure differential loads on SG tubes and the transient blowdown loads on SG external supports were demonstrated and the general aspects of transient responses of such transient hydraulic loads to the FWLB were discussed.

시간에 따른 압력변화에 대한 마이크로 기포의 동적 반응 (Dynamics Response of a Micro Bubble under Temporal Pressure Variations)

  • The growth of micro bubble has been simulated under the variation of ambient pressure. The Rayleigh-Plesset equation governs the dynamic growth and collapse of a bubble according to pressure and temperature conditions. The Rayleigh-Plesset equation was solved by 4th-order Runge-Kutta method for wide range of pressure variations. As numerical parameters, the pressure difference between initial and final pressures, and the temporal pressure gradient are changed. The results show that the pressure difference has little effect on the growth rate of the micro bubble in the inertia controlled growth region. On the other hand, the growth rate increases linearly with the increase of the pressure gradient.

  • The driving characteristics of the 1 tube 2 chamber bent silkworm type dyeing machine are reported. This dyeing machine is a newly developed energy saving machine. In this study, the driving characteristics of the 1 tube 2 chamber bent silkworm type dyeing machine are examined. Specially the relationship between main body pressure and the electric current of the blower motor, the relationship between main body pressure and the air pressure of the blower nozzle, the effect of the air pressure of the blower on the running speed of the fabric, and the effect of main body temperature were discussed experimentally. Through the experimental data, the following results were obtained. 1. Blower motor electric current and blower nozzle air pressure increased as main body pressure increased due to the temperature increase of the main body. 2. The running speed of the fabric increased as blower nozzle air pressure increased. The difference in running speed between winch reel driving and no winch reel driving at a blower frequency of 60Hz was higher than that of 70Hz. 3. The electric current of the blower rioter and blower nozzle air pressure increased rapidly at the initial state. As the experimental time passed, the main body pressure increased slowly. as the main body temperature increased.

앉은 자세에서 탄력밴드를 이용한 PNF 팔 패턴의 방산효과가 골반의 압력에 미치는 영향 (The Relationship of Pelvic Pressure and Irradiation of the PNF Upper Arm Pattern in the Sitting Position with an Elastic Band -A Randomized Control Trial-)

  • Purpose: This study evaluated the relationship between pelvic pressure and irradiation of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) upper arm pattern exercises with an elastic band while in a sitting position. Methods: Fourteen subjects with asymptomatic pelvic pressure participated in this study. Pelvic pressure was measured using a Gaitview® system while sitting and performing PNF bilateral upper arm patterns. Resistance strength was provided by the blue elastic band. The statistical significance of the results was evaluated using a repeated one-way ANOVA and the independent t-test. The Bonferroni method was used for the post-hoc test. Results: The results revealed a significant change in the pelvic pressure when performing the PNF arm pattern. The average resistance pressure on the pelvis, with the elastic band, significantly increased after the initial sitting position (F=3.91, 3.92; p<0.05). No significant pelvic pressure changes were noted for each PNF upper arm pattern (p>0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed a positive relationship between pelvic pressure and the irradiation of PNF upper arm pattern exercises with resistance in the sitting position.

초고압처리에 의한 동치미의 미생물, 효소 및 조직감의 변화 (Changes in Microorganisms, Enzymes and Texture of Dongchimi by High Hydrostatic Pressure Treatment)

  • 비열처리공법 중 하나로 새롭게 주목받고 있는 초고압 처리를 동치미에 적용하여 미생물의 살균정도, 효소 활성과 hardness의 변화를 관찰하였다. 제조한 동치미를 $30^{\circ}C$ 배양기에서 발효 적숙기라고 판단되는 pH 4.0까지 발효시킨 후, 이를 시료로 사용하여 $200{\sim}686\;MPa$ 범위의 압력에서 5분간 처리하였다. 무처리군의 균체수는 호기성 세균, 젖산균, 효모 및 곰팡이가 각각 $4.05{\times}10^8,\;3.25{\times}10^8,\;3.55{\times}10^4\;CFU/mL$ 존재하였으나, 호기성 세균은 600 MPa, 젖산균과 효모 및 곰팡이는 400 MPa 이상에서 완전히 살균되었다. 젖산균의 압력에 따른 내압성을 관찰해 본 결과 380 MPa에서 Leuconostoc mesenteroides가 유일하게 검출되어 가장 강한 내압성을 나타내었으며, 김치의 주 산패균으로 알려진 Lactobacillus plantarum은 300 MPa로 처리한 시료에서도 발견되지 않아 압력에 약한 균주로 판단되었다. 조직감에 관계하는 효소인 pectinesterase (PE)와 polygalacturonase (PG)는 압력에 의해 모두 활성이 증가하였다. 초고압 처리를 하지 않은 시료의 효소 활성을 100으로 했을 때, PE는 500 MPa에서 193으로 가장 활성이 높았으며, PG는 압력이 증가함에 따라 활성이 서서히 증가하여 686 MPa에서 191이었다. 동치미에 있는 무의 조직감은 초고압 처리했을 때 hardness가 증가하여 400 MPa에서 5분간 처리한 시료는 무처리군에 비해 약 0.065kg이 높았다.

탄탈륨 카바이드 분말 특성제어를 위한 원료 전처리 기술 (Pre-treatments of initial materials for controlling synthesized TaC characteristics in the SHS process)

  • We report the feasibility of TaC production via self-propagating high temperature synthesis, and the influence of the initial green compact density on the final composite particle size. Experiments are carried out from a minimum pressure of 0.3 MPa, the pressure at which the initial green body becomes self-standing, up to 3 MPa, the point at which no further combustion occurs. The green density of the pellets varies from 29.99% to 42.97%, as compared with the theoretical density. The increase in green density decreases the powder size of TaC, and the smallest particle size is observed with 1.5 MPa, at $10.36{\mu}m$. Phase analysis results confirm the presence of the TaC phase only. In the range of 0.3-0.5 MPa, traces of unreacted Ta and C residues are detected. However, results also show the presence of only C residue in the matrix within the pressure range of 0.6-3.0 MPa.

가스스프링 실린더내의 오리피스 홀을 갖는 피스톤 거동에 관한 연구 (A study on the behavior of the piston with orifice hole in the cylinder of a gas spring)

  • 가스스프링은 그 사용 목적에 따라 다양한 설계가 가능하여 많은 분야에서 사용되고 있고 그 사용량도 계속하여 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 가스스프링을 압축할 경우 반발력을 감소시키고 피스톤이 복귀할 때 저속으로 복귀할 수 있도록 설계된, 오리피스 홀을 갖는 피스톤의 가스스프링 실린더 내부에서의 거동을 전산유체해석을 이용하여 예측해 보았다. 해석결과 가스스프링 내의 초기 가스압을 일정 수준 이상으로 증가시키면 피스톤의 복귀속도가 시간에 따라 감소하지 않고 일정하게 유지됨을 알 수 있었다. 오리피스 홀 사이즈가 피스톤 복귀속도에 미치는 영향을 해석을 통해 알아보았다. 오리피스 홀 사이즈를 줄이게 되면 피스톤 양단의 압력 차가 증가하여 피스톤 전진속도가 감소하게 되고 보다 등속으로 운동하게 됨을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 피스톤의 속도가 일정하다는 가정에서 초기 가스압에 따른 피스톤의 복귀속도를 이론적인 방법으로 도출하였고, 여러 초기 가스압에 대한 해석 결과와 비교하였다. 비교결과 이론적으로 도출한 해와 해석결과로부터 얻어진 결과 값이 거의 일치함을 알 수 있었다.
