An Ethernet PON(Passive Optical Network) is an economical and efficient access network that has received significant research attention in recent years. A MAC(Media Access Control) protocol of PON , the next generation access network, is based on TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) basically and can classify this protocol into a fixed length slot assignment method suitable for leased line supporting QoS(Quality of Service) and a variable length slot assignment method suitable for LAN/MAN with the best effort. For analyzing the performance of these protocols, we design an Ethernet PON model using OPNET tool. To establish the maximum efficiency of a network, we verify a MAC protocol and determine the optimal number of ONUs(Optical Network Unit) that can be accepted by one OLT(Optical Line Terminal) and propose the suitable buffer size of ONU based on analyzing the end-to-end Ethernet delay, queuing delay, throughput, and utilization.

In this paper, a VCDRO (Voltage Control Dielectric Resonator Oscillator) with low phase noise for X-band application has been designed and fabricated. A low noise and low flicker noise MESFET and a high Q dielectric resonator were selected to obtain good phase noise Performance. Also, a varactor diode having high Q, qualify factor was used to reduce the loading effects and a big Gamma of diode was chosen for linearity of frequency over voltage tuning range. The fabricated circuits was simulated with circuit design tools, ADS to provide the optimum performances. As the measured results of fabricated oscillator, the output power was 5.8 ㏈m at center frequency 12.05㎓ and harmonic suppression -30㏈c, phase noise -114 ㏈c at 100 KHz offset frequency, respectively, and the frequency tuning range as the function of valtage applied to varactor diode was 15.2 MHz and its power variation with frequency was 0.2 ㏈. This oscillator could be available to a local oscillator in X-band.
In proteomics, recent advancements In mass spectrometry technology and in protein extraction and separation technology made high-throughput analysis possible. This leads to thousands to hundreds of thousands of MS/MS spectra per single LC-MS/MS experiment. Such a large amount of data creates significant computational challenges and therefore effective data analysis methods that make efficient use of computational resources and, at the same time, provide more peptide identifications are in great need. Here, SIFTER system is designed to avoid inefficient processing of shotgun proteomic data. SIFTER provides software tools that can improve throughput of mass spectrometry-based peptide identification by filtering out poor-quality tandem mass spectra and estimating a Peptide charge state prior to applying analysis algorithms. SIFTER tools characterize and assess spectral features and thus significantly reduce the computation time and false positive rates by localizing spectra that lead to wrong identification prior to full-blown analysis. SIFTER enables fast and in-depth interpretation of tandem mass spectra.
Since Wavelet Transform decomposes a video frame into subbands with various frequencies and resolutions, the reconstructed video qualify at a receiver fluctuates according to the location of transmission errors within frames. This deteriorates the whole visual duality of the video. Specifically, for a wavelet based video which exploits the motion estimation prediction scheme, the transmission errors of a subband not only have a bad effect on other subbands within a same frame but also propagates to the subsequent frames. In this paper, we propose BDP(Block Based Dispersive Packetization) scheme, for a wavelet based video stream, which maintains constant video quality despite packet location that a transmission error occurs. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, we use MRME(Multi-Resolution Motion Estimation) scheme to compress a video in Inter coding mode and Gilbert´s error model to generate the error patterns in wireless network environment. The simulation results show that BDP is more efficient than BP (Block based Packetization) or DP (Dispersive Packetization) in both PSNR and visual quality.
Today, the growth of software industry leads to e quantitative expansion of software package products. Due to this rapid increase of software package products, qualify certification has been required fur software products which users select. Unlike the quality certification of industrial products, the history of software product certification has not been so long. For this reason, software quality evaluation and certification methods have not matured yet. When certifying software products, one of most important factors is the systematic generation of evaluation sets. The evaluation sets include checklists with metrics, and criteria for the software quality certification according to the classification of software product type. This paper presents a metamodel for the systematic generation and maintenance of the evaluation sets. Then, we construct prototype level evaluation sets to show the validity of the metamodel.

This paper introduces three efficient frame selection schemes to reduce the computation complexity for the multi-reference and variable block size Motion Estimation (ME). The proposed RSP (Reference Selection Pass) scheme can minimize the overhead of frame selection. The MFS (Modified Frame Selection) scheme can reduce the number of search points about 18% compared with existing schemes considering the motion of image during the reference frame selection process. In addition, the TPRFS (Two Pass Reference frame Selection) scheme can minimize the frame selection operation for the variable block size ME in H.264/AVC using the character of selected reference frame according to the block size. The simulation results show the proposed schemes can save up to 50% of the ME computation without degradation of image Qualify. Because the proposed schemes can be separated from the block matching process, they can be used with any existing single reference fast search algorithms.

Quality assessment ai s to evaluate if a distorted image or video has a good quality by measuring the difference between the original and distorted images or videos. In this paper, to assess the visual qualify of a distorted image or video, visual features of the distorted image are compared with those of the original image instead of the direct comparison of the distorted image with the original image. We use edge projections from two images as features, where the edge projection can be easily obtained by projecting edge pixels in an edge map along vertical/horizontal direction. In this paper, edge projections are obtained by using vertical/horizontal directions of gradients as well as the magnitude of each gradient. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed quality assessment through the comparison with conventional quality assessment algorithms such as structural similarity(SSIM), edge peak signal-to-noise ratio(EPSNR), and edge histogram descriptor(EHD) methods.
This study aims to examine theoretical frame work of franchise restaurant, the characteristics of store manager's job and the level of their job satisfaction through an empirical investigation. Job satisfaction survey study shows that store managers consider important all work to be attended to as part of their duty with service management on top. It is also found that the majority of store managers consider their aptitude as most important job satisfaction factor and those, who are satisfied with their job content, advancement and the prospect, are more proactive in delivering qualify service and more than willing to commit themselves to their duties. Regrading demographical variables, store managers with scholarly competence and higher pay level are more likely to be satisfied with their job but married men are not satisfied with the work environment in general. Ergo, Businesses should correspond by capitalizing on those store managers content with their duty thus collecting additional information and providing opportunities to further contribute to the business. For those dissatisfied individuals, however, businesses should determine their demands and by educational training supply a motive therefore making possible the conversion of such individuals to satisfied store managers and their active participation in business management. But, as with any study, this one has a number of limitation which constraints the generalizability of the empirical findings. It has not been for long since franchise restaurants established in domestic market and has been few studies regarding this topic there. Furthermore, managers are not willing to release operation related data. Therefore, further study are urged to overcome this limitation and should examine other dimensions of job satisfaction such as relations between revenue and profit with the level of store manager's job satisfaction remain to be investigated.
In general. fiber-optic medical endoscopes are made from glass step index (SI) fibers. These endoscopes have limitations in both image quality and mechanical properties. In particular. the image resolution of the SI endoscopes is limited to about 5$\mu$m. In this study the image resolution of plastic graded index (GRIN) super-resolution image guides with pixel sizes from 7 to 2.5 $\mu$m were measured and compared with those of 91ass SI image guides. There is an improvement in resolution of the plastic GRIN image guides as the microfiber diameter is reduced from 7 $\mu$m to 2.5 $\mu$m. The measured resolution of plastic GRIN image guide with 2.5 $\mu$m microfibers is more than a factor of two higher than that of g1ass SI image guide with 5$\mu$m microfibers. This new design of optical systems could have a major impact on a wide array of future optical systems used in defense. industrial, and medical applications.
This paper proposes the mechanism which improves the qualify of video on a limited network bandwidth by applying the ROI technique to an H.264 Scalable Extension technique. The network environment assumed in this parer is the next generation network convergence environment in which the mobile device has one or more network interfaces. Therefore, we allocate the priority to video packets as the hierarchy structure of H.264 SVC-encoded video stream and ROI information, and transmit those packets over appropriate network channel for using those multiple network interfaces. This paper shows two experiments first one is extracting and allocating the video stream on an appropriate network channel, second one is unequal packet transmission by allocated priorities (e.g. ROI). Performance evaluations show that this approach delivers an improved decoded video quality when compared with conventional transmission schemes, especially on device which has multiple network interfaces.
