  • A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, retrieve and display the data which are referenced to geographic location. With the progress of computer graphics technologies, GIS is now become applicable to microcomputer level. A prototype Sea Information System (SIS) applicable to microcomputer has been developed for serving informations related to naval operations in the special sea areas. This system includes GIS technologies, cartographic data captured through the tablet digitizer. which results immediate displaying on pen plotters. GIS provides users with menu-driven user interface for the retrieval of informations concerning military zones, patrol area of war ship, naval bases, radar sites and its search area, missile stations, and ships' current positions. The system is currently applicable to IBM PC/AT. Minimal hardware configuration consists 640k RAM, hard disk, and pen plotter or dot matrix printer.

  • Any ERP system pushes a company toward full process integration and solves the fragmentation of information. However, the tight process integration can propagate and magnify mistakes made in one department into the other departments in real time. Thus, it can be posited that a central support system for the coordination can help ERP users and administrators dig out problems, take care of tedious validation and verification, and maintain process integration of ERP with great consistency. This paper proposes an agent-based ERP operations support system (EOSS) that aims at achieving and maintaining process integration of ERP at the highest level possible. With EOSS, the process integrity is monitored, with anomalies prevented as early as possible and repaired as precisely as possible.

  • In object analysis, line and curve finding plays a universal role. And, it can be accomplished by detecting ridges and ravines in digital gray-scale images. In this paper, we present a new method of detecting ridges and ravines by using local min and max operations. This method uses erosion and dilation properties of these fuzzy logic operations and requires no information of ridge or ravine direction, so that the method is simple and easy in comparison with the conventional analytical methods. The experimental results show that the technique has a strong ability in finding ridges and ravines.

  • In this paper, RCF(Resistive Companion Form) analysis method which is used to analyze small signal stability problems of non-continuous systems including switching device. The RCF analysis method are applied to the power systems with the thyristor controled FACTS equipments such as TCSC. As a result of simulation, the RCF method is very powerful to calculate the oscillation modes exactly after the switching operations, and useful to analyze the small signal stability of power systems with switching devices such as FACTS equipments. As an applicable example of the RCF method in power system, the one machine infinite bus system including TCSC at generator terminal bus is investigated and the results proved that variations of oscillation modes after periodic switching operations of TCSC can be calculated exactly.

  • In this paper, We describe a change set that is to manage historical information and to maintain ontologies during long term. We propose several storage policies of ontology using a change set. A change set includes a change operation set and temporal dimensions. A change operation set is composed with schema change operations and data change operations. We propose three storage policies that are storing all the change sets and storing the change sets and versions periodically, storing the change sets and the versions using sum of change operations. Also, we present the experimental results for evaluating the performance of different storage policies.

  • This paper presents the architecture and design of intra prediction circuit for H.264 decoder. There are a total of 17 operational modes in the intra prediction of H.264- nine modes for a luma $4\times4$ block, four modes for a luma $16\times16$ block and four modes for a chroma $8\times8$ block. We extracted common operations included in all prediction modes and defined the common operations unit to perform those operations. The proposed circuit architecture sharing this unit in all prediction modes is systematic from the design point of view and efficient in terms of circuit size.

  • Foodservice information systems management practices were assessed in hospital foodservice operations. A total of 46 dietetic departments were responded for the study and their practices of foodservice information systems were analyzed. The respondents were questioned about general characteristics of respondents as well as hospital foodservices implementation status of information systems. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS package program for descriptive analysis, factor analysis, t-test and ANOVA test. 43.2% of total respondents gained informations by benchmarking of other hospital foodservice operations, but 7.8% gained through career education. They expected the enhanced efficiency of their tasks through implementing information systems. Based on factor analysis, information systems were divided into 6 management areas such as database management, meal management, nutrition management, purchasing management, production management and foodservice management. The average implementing scores were : database management 3.77, meal management 3.26, nutrition management 3.52, purchasing management 3.26, production management 2.73 and foodservice management 3.70 (score 1 indicates very poor and score 5 is very good). Among database management areas, standard recipe database and food item specifications database build-up scores(3.91) were relatively very high, but meal assessment and foodservice management reporting scores(2.43) were very low. The results suggest that it is necessary to build up automated foodservice management reporting system for the improvement of efficiency and productivity of operational tasks.

  • The modular multiplication is the key module of public-key cryptosystems such as RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) and ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography). However, the efficiency of the modular multiplication, especially the modular square, is very low. In order to reduce their operation cycles and power consumption, and improve the efficiency of the public-key cryptosystems, a dual-field efficient FIPS (Finely Integrated Product Scanning) modular multiplication algorithm is proposed. The algorithm makes a full use of the correlation of the data in the case of equal operands so as to avoid some redundant operations. The experimental results show that the operation speed of the modular square is increased by 23.8% compared to the traditional algorithm after the multiplication and addition operations are reduced about (s2 - s) / 2, and the read operations are reduced about s2 - s, where s = n / 32 for n-bit operands. In addition, since the algorithm supports the length scalable and dual-field modular multiplication, distinct applications focused on performance or cost could be satisfied by adjusting the relevant parameters.

  • In spite of the increase of the necessity and the interest regarding the SCM in practical business, it is difficult to judge the whole situation of the SCM because the research remain fragmentary as compared with the huge and complicated concept of the SCM. So this study defines dimension of SCM practice and measurements of SCM performance. Through an extensive literature review, the study Identifies seven dimension of SCM practice(partnership, usage of IT tools, information sharing and information quality), five measurements of SCM performance(supply chain flexibility, supply chain integration, customer responsiveness, supplier performance, and partner relationship). Five hypotheses were formulated for the relationship between SCM practice and SCM performance. The important relationships to be tested include ; (1) the direct impact of usage of IT tools on the partnership (2) the direct impact of partnership on the information sharing and information quality (3) the direct impact of SCM practice on the performance of SCM, (4) A moderating effect of top management support on the relationship between SCM practice and SCM performance.

  • Heterogeneous IoT devices must satisfy a certain level of security for mutual connections and communications. However, a performance degradation of cryptographic algorithms in resource constrained devices is inevitable and so an optimization or efficient implementation method is necessary. In this paper, we study an efficient implementation method for rotation operations regarding registers for running ARX lightweight block ciphers. In a practical sense, we investigate the performance of modified rotation operations through experiments using real experiment devices. We show the improved performance of modified rotation operations and discover the significant difference in measured performance between simulations and real experiments, particularly for 16-bit MSP microcontrollers.
