  • Aesthetic design guidelines of bridges were developed in many countries. As iconic structures, bridges need to be attractive and durable as they serve many generations. In this paper, a new design process of concrete structures considering 3D shapes and texture was proposed. The 3D design needs to consider function, economy, advanced technology, tradition and local culture. 3D printers enable the combination of artistic design and engineering design for concrete structures. Parametric modeling with iconic design was utilized to produce 3D formworks. As a pilot project, a railway bridge girder was designed and the proposed technologies were applied. Detail requirements to improve constructability and quality of concrete surfaces were derived. From the pilot applications, design guidelines were suggested.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the customers' requirements for shoe products using the survey method, to analyze customers' needs, and to suggest information to make the shoe that they want. For this work, we made 38 survey items for the degree of shoe satisfaction, for foot care and shoe control, for shoe characteristics, and for shoe purchase in future. For the purchase of shoe products in future, customers in their twenties gave the highest score for shoe design among price, design, size, fashion, fitness, color, brand, so forth. However, respondents in their forties selected the degree of fitness instead of shoe design. In the question for the buying price of shoe products in future, all customers wanted shoe products between 30,000 won and 50,000 won.

  • In designing and evaluating a new product, the company needs to give thought to the entire spectrum of produceability, usability, and ultimate reliability, as well as safety of users. For each design review(DR) stage, a formal, systematic, documented review and evaluation of a product design is conducted to assure that the product is safe and reliable, that costs and materials have been optimized, and that the design complies with its specifications and requirements. This paper presents how to improve development process for product's safety and reliability. The process requires gathering the appropriate information, determining the limits of the product, estimating risk associated with the task-hazard combinations, and reducing risk according to a prioritized procedure.

  • Working Posture is an important factor directly connected with quality and productivity of the construction project. In particular, High-rise building construction is required to manage the working posture due to the repetitive task and unfavorable working condition such as high place work, limited space. However existing construction planning of high-rise building construction has a negative effect on the labor's productivity because it is not insufficiently considered for working posture. Therefore the purpose of this study is to suggest a work that needs improvement by analyzing labor's working posture quantitatively using OWAS method. These results would provide the basic information to improve the productivity of the construction project by supporting the construction plan considering the working posture in high-rise building.

  • EMU, Electric Multiple Unit, is very complicated system that consists of thousand parts. If breakdown happens, work that clears cause in most cases work that clears cause in most cases is very complicated and difficult. Also it needs much times and experts of several parts. Maintenance is depending on know-how of the operator and breakdown that happen before happens often repeatedly because information management and public ownership are not achieved properly about analysis and action result. In this paper we present the case-based expert system for EMU which is able to share this know-how knowledge that data-based systemically with another operator.

  • A health monitoring system becomes a very useful tool to obtain information on long term behavior of the important railway structures such as very long span and special type bridges. It can be also used to give a warning signal to the maintenance engineer when the structure shows abnormal behavior. However, due to long term use and temperature changes, the health monitoring system needs to be calibrated periodically. In this study, calibration and gauge factor readjustment process made for the health monitoring system installed in the railroad bridges and tunnel are reviewed and a few findings are updated. Future work will be concentrated on the long-term analysis of the measurement data and on the database structures so that the assessment of the structure is possible

  • This study is to provide information in the development of energy conservation technologies by means of technological demand survey covering energy market and industrial field among energy-related technologies. For this purpose, we check both the present state of energy technologies and trends of social change in Korea, and then combine social needs with major, bottleneck, and essential technologies required for the future. The range of this study covers the field of industry, kiln, furnace, metal, building, transport, and electricity. For case study, valid 120 companies among the 500 companies selected randomly in the energy data-base of Korea institute of energy research (KIER) are considered.

  • To rapidly respond to uncertainties in the business environment whilst remaining competitive, every organization needs to be able to successfully introduce and manage organizational change. Cognizant of the role of information systems (IS) as an enabler of organizational change, many organizations have paid attention to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for successful organizational change primarily because of their change-driving forces across organizations. This study focuses attention on the role of readiness for change in the ERP systems adoption. Readiness for change described as views about the need for organizational change is posited to be an antecedent of two expectancies about the system, performance expectancy and effort expectancy, which lead to actual system use. Based on data gathered from the users of the ERP systems, structural equation analysis using LISREL provides significant support for the proposed relationships.

  • Population concentration phenomenon of city needs large-scale ride, and It is important elements that develop the circumference but, it is difficult to evaluate effects that ride gets land utilization change. Therefore, this research evaluates change and effect of land utilization as political to subway station that is main ride of Seoul City, and chose standard and position for right place arrangement of electric railway station. Research contents analyzed subway station effect area interior and external land utilization change taking advantage of GIS's buffer function and RS's classification technique, and decide precedence at subway station establishment and chose position of subway station for effect area outside area.
