In this research, we proposed "coefficient of inequality" as a measure of distributional inequality for an alternative, which is defined as the area between the diagonal line from 0 to 1 and the Lorenz curve of the given alternative. Next, we showed theoretical relationship between stochastic dominance and the coefficient of inequality as a means to determine the preferred alternative when decision is made with incomplete information about decision maker's utility function. Then, two experiments were performed to test subject‘s attitude toward risk. The results of the experiments support the idea that when a decision maker is risk averse or risk prone, he/she can use the coefficient of inequality as a decision rule to choose the preferred alternative instead of using stochastic dominance. Thus, according to decision maker’s attitude toward risk, the decision rule proposed here can be used as a valuable aid in decision making under uncertainty with incomplete information.

In this paper we investigate an initial boundary value problem of a logarithmic wave equation. We establish the global existence of weak solutions to the problem by using Galerkin method, logarithmic Sobolev inequality and compactness theorem.

In this paper, two classes of functions, involving a parameter and the classical Euler gamma function, and two functions, involving the classical Euler gamma function, are verified to be logarithmically completely monotonic in $(-\frac{1}{2},\infty)$ or $(0,\infty)$; some inequalities involving the classical Euler gamma function are deduced and compared with those originating from certain problems of traffic flow, due to J. Wendel and A. Laforgia, and relating to the well known Stirling's formula.

A more general version of diffusivity based on total variation of density is defined and an information inequality for median-unbiased estimation is presented. The resulting information inequality can be interpreted as an analogue of the Bhattacharyya system of lower bounds for mean-unbiased estimation. A condition on which the information bound is achieved is also given.

현재 정보불평등계층에 대한 개념과 정의는 국내의 법마다 상이하며 용어 또한 다양하다. 사회의 발전과 국가의 관심에 따라 정보불평등계층은 더 세분화되고 있는 상황에서 세분화된 도서관정책과 서비스도 개발되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이에 대한 기초조사로서 정보격차에 대한 용어, 개념, 법적근거, 디지털정보화수준에 근거한 지수개발, 격차해소정책 및 도서관발전계획상에서의 도서관서비스 사례를 조사하였다. 또한 장애인서비스, 다문화서비스, 노인서비스의 정보불평등계층별 도서관서비스 정책 및 서비스 개발현황을 비교 분석하였다. 분석자료로 논문 및 사업과제를 사용하였다. 연구결과, 본 연구에서 정책개발(법, 제도, 중장기 계획, 선진화계획, 사업 모형개발, 매뉴얼개발, 홍보전략, 평가지 등), 지원기구, 담당인력양성, 협력네트워크, 지원설비, 지원서비스, 지원자료 등 다수의 과정과 업무가 구비되어야 함을 제안하였다.
