  • This paper analyzed the JPEG compression performance of MTSAT-lR (Multi-functional Transport Satellite-1 Replacement), which is offering the LRIT/HRIT (Low Rate Information Transmissio/High Rate Information Transmission) service now, in order to design the system regarding LRIT/HRIT of COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite). To do so, we analysed Lossy and Lossless JPEG compression performance regarding the MTSAT-1R LRIT/HRIT data for 10 days, and made comparison to the image characteristics, and understood the JPEG compression characteristics regarding JPEG compression of geostationary meteorological satellite. This result of compression performance analysis is expected to be a reference not only to the system design and realization of COMS LRIT/HRIT but also to those who develop other meteorological satellite receiving systems.

  • In this paper, we propose an architecture and a protocol fur Secure Mobile Multicast(SMM) offering efficient and secure multicast services to many mobile nodes. In this framework, we use Indirect and Direct Service Mode adaptively, according to the movement of mobile nodes around the overlapped service area, to provide reliably secure multicast with low latency, minimum key update, and minimum data loss.

  • There are some cases when SOAP message, where WS-Security and WS-Policy elements are included, may consist of a sensitive and important data. In these cases, the message is highly recommended to be secured. The question exists of how to quickly identify that SOAP message satisfies security requirement and security level of a SOAP message. In this paper, we propose a technique called Bit-Stream which depends on the importance of SOAP elements to automatically identify the vulnerabilities and risks while offering advice for higher security.

  • The field of digital forensics requires good theoretical and practical knowledge, so practitioners should have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of both theory and practical as they need to take decisions which impacts human lives. With the demand and advancements in the realm of digital forensics, many universities around the globe are offering digital forensics programs, but there is a huge gap between the skills acquired by the student's and the market needs. This research work explores the problems faced by digital forensics programs, and provides solution to overcome the gap between the skills acquired by the student's and the market needs using Activity led learning pedagogy for digital forensics programs.

  • Purpose The impact of online reviews is widely acknowledged, with extensive research focused on text-based reviews. However, there's a lack of research regarding reviews in video format. To address this gap, this study aims to explore the connection between company-sponsored product review videos and the extent of directive speech within them. This article analyzed viewer sentiments expressed in video comments based on the level of directive speech used by the presenter. Design/methodology/approach This study involved analyzing speech acts in review videos based on sponsorship and examining consumer reactions through sentiment analysis of comments. We used Speech Act theory to perform the analysis. Findings YouTubers who receive company sponsorship for review videos tend to employ more directive speech. Furthermore, this increased use of directive speech is associated with a higher occurrence of negative consumer comments. This study's outcomes are valuable for the realm of user-generated content and natural language processing, offering practical insights for YouTube marketing strategies.

  • Conventional mining enterprises, particularly coal-related ones, exhibit substantial environmental pollution and high energy consumption, while those involved in new energy resources, such as lithium and cobalt, face severe resource shortages. Consequently, the economic efficiency of China's mining enterprises is significantly constrained. This study examines data from nine representative listed enterprises in China spanning 2016 to 2021. Employing the DEA model-i.e., BCC (VRS) model, we analyze the economic efficiency of mining enterprises with a focus on stakeholders. The paper provides static and dynamic analyses, offering insights and recommendations for enhancing technology, reducing costs, and fortifying social relationships.

  • Effective brand management using images has been a challenge for the brand managers. The brand identity-brand image alignment on the social media is an important yet mostly-overlooked phenomenon. We proposed a scalable Google Cloud Vision-based approach for measuring the alignment between brand identity and brand image, and understanding the brand positions. We analyzed 3247 images of 13 leading Indian brands on Instagram. Images containing wordy announcements by the firms are in stark contrast with the relatively more emotive images by the users. It leads to a noticeable disconnect between the brand identity and brand image. Also, the private sector brands do not always outperform the public sector brands in branding efforts. By offering practical guidance on how to measure and reduce the misalignment, this study paved a feasible path towards better visual branding on Instagram.

  • This paper investigates how firms increase customer acceptance of self-service technologies in retail, and the impact of self-efficacy on customer experience, satisfaction, and loyalty. We conducted our empirical research by administering 308 questionnaires to customers of self-service convenience stores in China. We employed a structural equation model to analyze the relationship between service quality, revisit intention, and word of mouth. The results indicate that perceived service quality significantly influences customer satisfaction, with the service quality of self-service retail and experience value being important factors in consumer acceptance of self-service retail stores. Additionally, we investigated the relationship between customer experience value, satisfaction, and loyalty, and found that self-service retail stores exert a significant impact on perceived self-efficacy. Informed by the research on customer acceptance of self-service technologies in retail, promoting further development of self-service retail technologies can effectively aid companies in generating profit while offering more convenience to customers.

  • Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) have been acknowledged to play a key role in promoting innovation and economic development. In Peru, 99.5% of formal firms are MSMEs, thus promoting innovation in these firms could have a significant impact on the Peruvian economy. In spite of Innovate Peru's efforts, Peru is still one of the countries that invests the least in innovation, with MSMEs offering low value added. Innovate Peru has launched programs (technological missions) to improve MSMEs' innovation through technology-transfer-oriented subsidies, which may strengthen companies' absorptive capacity (AC) and thus their capabilities to identify and integrate internal and external knowledge. This study assesses the impact of these programs on MSMEs. Data were collected from 85 MSMEs that participated in Innovate Peru's technological missions between 2014 and 2016. Findings show that all the dimensions of AC have a positive impact on innovation; however, the impact of economic subsidy was found to be non-significant. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
