Some Diagnostic Results in Discriminant Analysis

  • Although lots of works are done in influence diagnostics, results in the multivariate analysis are quite rare. One of recent works done by Fung(1995) is about the single case influence diagnostics in the linear discriminant analysis. In this paper we extend Fung's results to the multiple cases diagnostics which are necessary in the linear discriminant analysis for two reasons among others; First, the masking effect cannot be detected by single case diagnostics and secondly two populations are concerned in the discriminant analysis, i.e., influential cases can occur in one or both populations.

Sensitivity Analysis in Principal Component Regression with Quadratic Approximation

  • Recently, Tanaka(1988) derived two influence functions related to an eigenvalue problem $(A-\lambda_sI)\upsilon_s=0$ of real symmetric matrix A and used them for sensitivity analysis in principal component analysis. In this paper, we deal with the perturbation expansions up to quadratic terms of the same functions and discuss the application to sensitivity analysis in principal component regression analysis(PCRA). Numerical example is given to show how the approximation improves with the quadratic term.

The effect of brand equity of CVS PB Products on Repurchase Intention

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to set brand awareness and brand image as independent variables from Keller's (1993) definition of brand equity and to analyze whether those variables have an influence on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty with perceived quality and value as mediator variables. Research design, data, and methodology - Data is collected through questionnaires from 200 of responders. Survey respondents were young people who use convenience stores. Questionnaires were tested in October 2017. SPSS and AMOS were used for structural equation as an analysis method. Results - The analysis results specified above can be summarized as follows: 1) Brand awareness had statistically significant influence on perceived quality and perceived value; 2) Brand image had a positive (+) influence on perceived quality and had no significant influence on perceived value; 3) Perceived quality and perceived value had a significant influence on customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction had a statistically significant influence on customers' repurchase intention. Conclusions - Brand awareness and brand image had an influence on young consumers' decision-making process for purchasing PB food products. Convenience stores have to focus on developing food products with brand awareness and brand image more suitable for satisfying consumer preferences.

패스트푸드 전문점 이용객의 라이프스타일과 동기, 속성만족과의 인과관계 - 강원도 영동권 대학생들 위주로 (The causal relationship between consumers 'life-style and motivation, satisfaction of attributes at fast-food restaurant - Focused on college students eastern area of Kangwon Province)

  • The purposes of this study were, 1) to investigate the causal relationship between customer's life-style and motivation of eating-out, and 2) to research the causal nexus between motivation of eating-out and satisfaction of attributes to choose the restaurant. Reliability analysis, factor analysis, and Structure Equation Model(SEM) were adapted by Windows SPSS 10.0 and Amos 4.0. Life-style was divided into 7 factors and eating-out motivation into 5. Life-style influenced significantly each motivation of eating-out. It had positive influence on 'Reception and congratulation', 'Change of dietary life', 'Economic saving', "'Preference motivation', and 'Advertisement and companion's need', but negative influence on 'Reception and congratulation', 'Change of dietary life', and 'Preference motivation'. Customer's motivation of eating-out also influenced significantly the attributes. Factorl 'Reception and congratulation' had positive influence on all attributes except for 'Transportation convenience and distance to the shop'. Factor 2 'Change of dietary life' had negative influence on 'Food's taste, quantity, price', 'Sanitation and cleanness', and 'Staff's service quality' Factor 3 "Economic saving' had positive influence on 'Food's taste, quantity, price' and 'Transportation convenience and distance to the shop'. factors 'Advertisement and companion's need' had positive influence on 'Atmosphere of restaurant' and negative influence on 'Food's taste, quantity, price'.

A Study on the Moderating Effect of Consumer's Intention to Use for Cross-Border Trade in Korea and Vietnam

  • Purpose - This study aims to identify consumer tendencies in Korea and Vietnam, focusing on the online platform called cross-border, to derive revenue generation measures and use them for strategies to advance into ASEAN. Design/methodology - The questionnaire collected 420 copies from December 1 to December 31, 2020, of which 408 were used for statistical processing. The structural equation model (SEM) and moderating effect analysis with Amos was used to test hypothesis in this research. Findings - The hypotheses were set as factors that positively influence the intention to use e-commerce, such as effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions and variety seeking showed statistically significant results. Among them, the social influence factor had the greatest influence, followed by facilitating condition. The sample was divided into countries, Korea and Vietnam, and these changes and differences in influence were confirmed through moderating effect analysis. Originality/value - The moderating effect on both countries (Korea and Vietnam) was found to have a moderating effect on the intention to use. For Korean consumers, significant results were found in the effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and variety seeking, but for Vietnamese consumers, there were significant effects on the social influence and facilitating conditions, but the effort expectancy and variety seeking had no significant effect.

Local Influence of the Quasi-likelihood Estimators in Generalized Linear Models

  • We present a diagnostic method for the quasi-likelihood estimators in generalized linear models. Since these estimators can be usually obtained by iteratively reweighted least squares which are well known to be very sensitive to unusual data, a diagnostic step is indispensable to analysis of data. We extend the local influence approach based on the maximum likelihood function to that on the quasi-likelihood function. Under several perturbation schemes local influence diagnostics are derived. An illustrative example is given and we compare the results provided by local influence and deletion.

The local influence of LIU type estimator in linear mixed model

  • In this paper, we study the local influence analysis of LIU type estimator in the linear mixed models. Using the method proposed by Shi (1997), the local influence of LIU type estimator in three disturbance models are investigated respectively. Furthermore, we give the generalized Cook's distance to assess the influence, and illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method by example.

도시주부의 대인적 지지, 생활긴장감 및 만족도 (Interpersonal support, Tension in life changes & Life satisfaction in Urban Housewives)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate interpersonal support, tension in lifechanges & satisfaction. The selected sample is composed of 387 housewives in ChongJoo city. SAS pc program was used for the statistical analysis of the data. Data was analyzed by frequency, F-test, percentage, mean, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Regression Analysis. Major findings as follows: 1)At wedding & funeral ceremony, kin networks of her parents & parents-in law side were variables to have influence on tension in life changes. And the number of social organization participated were a variable to have influence on the satisfaction. The age of couple, education of couple, duration of marriage, income, family lifecycle, the number of children, pattern of family were variables to influence tension in life changes, but were not variables to influence on the satisfaction. 2) At usual or wedding & funeral ceremony, kin networks of her parents side were variables to influence on instrumental & companionship support. And the number of friends was a variable to influence on companionship & informational support. The number of neighbors was a variable to influence on instrumental, companionship & informational support. The number of social organization participated was a variable to influence on companionship & emotional support. The age of couple, education of couple,income, duration of marriage, family life cycle, number of children, family size, family type were variables to influence on interpersonal support. 3)The relationship between tension and satisfaction in life changes was negative, and between instrumental support and satisfaction was negative also. But between companionship support and satisfaction was positive relationship and between tension of personal &social life and instrumental support was positive relationship. The relationship between tension of marriage life and companionship support was negative and between tension of family life and information support was negative relationships. The received companionship support was lower tension in life changes than not received it. But the received instrumental support was higher tension of personal & social life. The received companionship & informational support was higher satisfaction than not received them. But the received instrumental support was lower satisfaction than not received it. 4) Instrumental & companionship support, at usual kin network of her parents in taw side, at wedding & funeral ceremony kin network of her parents side,were variables to influence on tension in life changes. 국토교통연구개발사업 평가지표별 연구개발과제 선정에 대한 영향력 분석 - 국토교통기술사업화지원 사업을 중심으로 - (An Analysis of Influence on the Selection of R&D Project by Evaluation Index for National Land Transport R&D Project - Focusing on the Technology Commercialization Support Project -)

  • 국가연구개발사업 연구개발과제 선정에 대한 투명성과 공정성에 대한 개선 필요성이 지속적으로 제기됨에 따라, 국토교통기술사업화지원 사업을 대상으로 선정평가 지표별 평가 결과에 미치는 영향력을 분석하고 분석결과를 활용한 지표 개선 방안을 모색하였다. 연구자료는 2021년도 국토교통기술사업화지원 사업 중소기업 혁신, 스타트업 2개 분야의 신규 연구개발과제의 선정평가 결과 자료와 평가지표를 적용하였으며, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용하여 평가지표별 영향력을 분석하였다. 회귀모형은 분석결과의 신뢰성 제고를 위해 인공신경망 다중 퍼셉트론 분석을 수행하여 영향력이 낮은 평가지표를 사전에 제거하였다. 분석결과, 중소기업 혁신 분야는 인력운영계획에 대한 평가지표의 영향력이 가장 낮고 사업화 추진계획의 적절성 지표의 영향력이 가장 높게 나타났다. 스타트업 분야는 기술개발 적합성, 시장성, 사업수행 적합성 평가지표의 영향력이 상호 유사하게 추정되었으며, 기술성 평가지표의 영향력이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 본 논문의 분석결과는 지속적인 선정평가 지표의 개선 필요성을 시사하며, 분석결과를 활용한 타당한 평가지표 선정 및 공정한 연구개발기관 선정을 통해 국토교통 분야 우수 연구성과 도출 및 우수 기업 육성에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

수면치과치료가 치과환자 만족도 및 재이용에 미치는 영향 (A study on influence of sleep dental treatment on satisfaction degree and revisit to dental clinics)

  • Objectives : In this study, the dental treatment satisfaction degree of the patients, who experienced the sleep dental treatment or non-sleep dental treatment, the revisit rate and the differences among the encouraging intention were compared and analyzed, and the primary factors through which the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment has influence on the revisits and the encouraging intention were analyzed, and the proposal was made on clinic management to raise qualitative medical service level on the basis of this study. Methods : The questionnaires filled out by the 202 users of a certain dental clinic located in Pohang-si, Gyeongbuk were analyzed. The frequency analysis and the crosstabulation analysis of the general characteristics of survey participants were carried out, and the satisfaction difference between the sleep dental treatment and the non-sleep dental treatment was identified with the t-test analysis. The multiple regression analysis were carried out to identify the factors through which the sleep dental treatment has influence on the through which the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment has influence on the satisfaction degree of the medical service and the revisited dentists. Results : In the medical service satisfaction degree in general, the sleep dental treatment had the higher meaningful value than the non-sleep dental treatment(p<0.05). In the case of the difference in satisfaction degree on each medical service factor, the satisfaction of the sleep treatment group was high in every case, but the meaningful difference showed up in the factors of waiting time, treatment procedure, revisit and the encouraging intention(p<0.01). The revisit to the sleep treatment dental clinic and the recommending dentist increased in proportion to the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment, and the Beta value appeared to be 0.337 at the influence of the subordinate variable(p<0.001). As for the influence on the sleep dental treatment satisfaction, the Beta value of the dental hygienist was the highest, marking the value at 0.375(p<0.01). As for the satisfaction of the patients who experienced the sleep dental treatment, the Beta value of the treatment fee was the highest, marking 0.352(p<0.001), in the multiple regression analysis of the revisit and the encouraging intention, and the 0.156 of dentist factor and the 0.152 of treatment procedure and waiting time showed lower regression coefficient(p<0.05). Conclusions : It is assumed that the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment, which is carried out as a new dental service has influence on the increase of revisit to the dental clinic as an important factor. But it was disclosed that the high level of treatment fee has the biggest influence on choice of revisit to the dental clinic. In the current medical charge system, the sleep dental treatment appeared to have a big influence on raising the quality of dentists, the satisfaction of patients, the revisit and encouraging intention, and also the roles of the dental hygienist was important. It is assumed that these facts are functioning as the factors that are linked to the increase of revisit and the encouraging intention.
