  • In this paper, physical properties and dielectric characteristics of LLDPE and EVA which are used as a blending material to improve PE's performance are studied. LLDPE of 0.92[g/cm3] and EVA with the EVA contents of 12.5[%1 were selected as specimens, and X-ray diffraction(XRD) are used to analysis physical properties. We measured dielectric constant with the frequency range from 20[Hz] to 1 [MHz], applied voltage 6[V] and the temperature from 25[$^{\circ}C$] to 110[$^{\circ}C$]. From XRD, LLDPE has a crystallinity of 53[%] and, 46[%] for EVA. LLDPE has as low tan$\delta$ as of 10$^{-3}$ ~10$^{-4}$ and inflection point near 500[Hz]. At frequency region lower than 500[Hz], tan$\delta$ decreases with frequency and increases with temperature and it is considered to be caused by conductive carriers within specimen. Over 500[Hz], it is the reverse and we thought that it was caused by decrease of relaxation time due to Debye theory, EVA has tan$\delta$with the values of 10$^{-2}$ ~10$^{-3}$ , which is higher than that of LLDPE, and it has inflection point at 60[Hz]. It is shown that Dielectric characteristics of EVA are similar to LLDPE's.

  • In this study, basic data that can be referenced for ventilation modeling was presented by analyzing the characteristics of wind pressure coefficients(Cp) according to wind direction angles under conditions of different building layouts and aspect ratios through CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis for flat-type apartment complexes. In the case of a wind direction angle of 0°, Cp distribution in the form of an inverted S-shape was shown on the front of the building located on the windward side. And Cp corresponding to the lowest floor, the uppermost floor, and the two inflection points showed relatively close values regardless of the height of the building. The inflection point of the low-rise part was formed at a height of about 11m, and the height of the high-rise part could be calculated through a trend formula proportional to the height of the building. It was confirmed that the averaged Cp value can be applied in most conditions except for the wind direction angle of 45 degrees.

  • This study relates to a characteristic change and frequency correction method according to the temperature sensor position of an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) using a 10 MHz SC-CUT crystal. Although there are several methods of manufacturing the previous high-precision 10MHz OCXO, the present study shows that the frequency stability characteristics against external temperature changes can be improved simply by adjusting the position of the temperature sensor. Factors that affect the frequency characteristics of the OCXO include the temperature transmitted to the crystal, the voltage applied to the crystal, and the capacitance constituting the oscillation circuit. The amount of change in frequency due to these factors was measured, and the change in the correction value of the OCXO output frequency was investigated by measuring the temperature inflection point and changing the capacitor value.

  • In modern society, various video devices such as CCTV and black boxes are used for convenience. However, noise is frequently generated in the process of transmitting and receiving video images and video signals photographed at night. If such noise is not eliminated, the problem that the image is difficult to identify is generated. Accordingly, noise elimination of images in the image information is an indispensable step. Salt and Pepper noises are typical impulse noises among image noises. Previous research has been carried out as a method for eliminating noise, and CWMF, MMF and A-TMF are typical methods. In common, such a filter exhibits excellent performance in a low-density noise area, but a disadvantage is that noise elimination performance in a high-density noise area is somewhat insufficient. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm uses the inflection point of the histogram graph to separate areas and remove singular points, and proposes a weighting filter utilizing histogram distribution. PSNR was used for objective judgment.

  • Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of age and diet forms on growth-development patterns, serum metabolism indicators, and parameters of body fat deposition in Cherry Valley ducks. Methods: According to the hatching age and initial weight, a total of 150 1-day-old male SM3 Cherry Valley ducks were randomly assigned to two diet forms (pellet vs powder form). Each treatment had with 5 replicates per treatment and 15 meat ducks per replicate. The study lasted 42 d, which was divided into two periods (1 to 21 vs 22 to 42 d). Results: Our results showed that compared with powder group, ducks in pellet group had greater growth performance during different period (p<0.05). The inflection point was 24 d and was not numerically affected by diet forms. Increasing age (42 vs 21 d) significantly increased the weight of body fat and hepatic fat metabolism related enzyme activities in ducks (p<0.05), meanwhile, increasing age (42 vs 21 d) improved serum metabolism indicators and decreased mRNA expression levels of fat metabolism-related genes in liver (p<0.05). Ducks fed different diets (pellet vs powder form) increased growth performance as well as the weight of body fat and improved serum metabolism indicators (p<0.05). In addition, interactions were found between age and diet forms on the levels of serum metabolism indicators in ducks (p<0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, powder feed reduced growth performance of ducks, and the day of inflection point was 24 days old. Ducks with higher age or fed with pellet diet showed higher fat deposition. The effect of age and feed forms on body fat deposition might result from changes in the contents of serum metabolism indicators, key enzyme activity of lipid production, and hepatic gene expressions.

  • This study attempts to investigate why Stanislavsky's System, which has been the basis of modern acting, and the American Acting Method, which is the American succession of the System, were forced to become acting theories with a completely different nature. First, this study tracks the publishing and translating process of Stanislavsky's books related to System targeting the major countries of System succession, Russia, the United States, and South Korea, so it confirms that the System has been understood completely differently in each country. Based on this, this study aims to clarify the difference and cause of it in the two acting theories by discussing how the "Experiencing" and the actor's "Double Consciousness", which keep the ground of System, were accepted in the Method. To recognize Stanislavsky's publication, translation, and understanding of the System, which is an inflection point from the System to the Method, will be an attempt to fully understand both acting theories. It is hoped that this study that fundamentally seeks to comprehend System and Method will serve as the foundation for discussion from various perspectives on both acting theories in the future.

  • This study analyzes the authorship of all articles published in four domestic LIS journals over a 20-year period from 2002 to 2021 to examine the current status of scholarly communication through Korean LIS journals and suggest future prospects. To achieve this purpose, the study analyzed the number of co-authors, the proportion of returning authors, the publishing preference index (PPI), the author group change trend, and the researcher attraction index (RAI). The analysis revealed the level of collaborative research in each journal, the degree of formation of related author groups by journal, the inflection point of author group changes, the characteristics of emerging researchers, and the degree of author sharing between journals. Overall, 2015 was found to be an inflection point where the author community of Korean LIS journals changed. The newer generation of researchers showed a slightly different behavior of publishing papers than the older generation, as they mainly conduct collaborative research. These quantitative results could be triangulated with the qualitative interview data of previous studies to further strengthen the development strategy of Korean LIS journals.

  • Growth curves were estimated for 1083 female Korean cattle raised in Daekwanryeong branch, National Livestock Research Institute (NLRI). Comparisons were made among various growth curve models for goodness of fit for the growth of the cows. Estimated growth curve functions were $W_t=370.2e^{-2.208e^{-0.00327t}$ for Gompertz model, for von Bertalanffy model, and $W_t=341.2(1+5.652e^{-0.00524t})^{-1}$ for Logistic model. Ages at inflection estimated from Gompertz model, von Bertalanffy model and Logistic model were 242.2 days, 191.5 days, and 330.5 days respectively, body weight at inflection were 136kg, 115kg, and 170kg, and daily gain at inflection were 0.445kg, 0.451kg, and 0.446kg. The predicted weights by ages from Gompertz model, von Bertalanffy model, and Logistic model were onsistently overestimated at birth weight and underestimated at 36 month weight. The von Bertalanffy model which had a variable point of inflection fit the data best.

  • 1. This study indicates that above the fiber saturation point the drying rate can be increased with increasing the velocity of the air circutation, i.e., the drying rate of sample boards is proportional to the air velocity, but below the fiber saturation point, the effect of the velocity of air circulation is very low as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. 2. Under the controlled temperature and humidity in the kiln, the more the sample boards have moisture, the higher drying rate of it can be obtained. In other words, this means that even though in the case of drying various moisture content of wood, at the final drying stage, approximately the same percentage of moisture content of wood can be secured by employing the higher velocity of air circulation. 3. This study shows that the rate of drying in kiln changes distinctly at the fiber saturation point, i, e., above the fiber saturation point, the drying curve shows concave aginst the X axsis, but below the fiber saturation point, in the range from 30 percent of moisture content to 20 percent of moisture content, the curve shows convex as shown in Fig. 3. As the drying progresses, however, the drying curve shows concave again below 20 percent of moisture content. This means that inflection point of drying curve may be located clearly at the fiber saturation point, i.e., 30 percent of moisture content. As mentioned above, the 30 percent of moisture content of wood at which the inflectional point appears can be recognized as a critical point, i. e., the fiber saturation point at which all free water was removed from wood. The existence of inflectional point indicates that the evaporation of hygroscopic water in a cell wall is more difficult than the evaporation of free water in a cell cavity and the minor space of cell wall. The convex curve in the range of moisture content from 30 percent to 20 percent means that the evaporation of capillary condensed water has a tendency of the same rates of drying approximately, but as approaching to the 20 percent of moisture, the transfusion of moisture from wood becomes difficult because of having less moisture in cell wall. Below 20 percent of moisture content, the drying curve shows concave again, which means that it is difficult to remove the moisture located nearer to the surface of cellulose molecules and the surface bound water. These relations were revealed in Fig. 4. In comparison AC curve which does not have the two inflection points with BD curve which has two inflection points, i.e., Band D, they are mentioned already, by existence of the inflection points, the curve BD shows that the change of drying rate in the interval from 20 percent of moisture content to 30 percent of moisture content is not greater than in the case of the curve AC in the same interval. At the inflection point of 30 percent of moisture content, it can be noticed that the changing of the drying rate is very conspicuous. This phenomenon also can be recognized, as it is noticed by the Fig. 3, the drying rate from green to 30 percent of moisture content is very great. But the inclination of the curve is very slow from 30 percent of moisture content to 20 percent of moisture content, i.e., the inclination of the curve becomes almost horizontal lines. Acknowledgments Gratitude is expressed to Fred E. Dickinson, Professor of 'Wood Technology, School of Natural Resources, University of Michigan, USA for his suggestion to carry out this study.

  • This paper attempts to address the motion parameter skip problem associated with three-dimensional trajectory tracking of an underactuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) using backstepping-based control, due to the unsmoothness of tracking trajectory. Through kinematics concepts, a three-dimensional dynamic velocity regulation controller is derived. This controller makes use of the surge and angular velocity errors with bio-inspired models and backstepping techniques. It overcomes the frequently occurring problem of parameter skip at inflection point existing in backstepping tracking control method and increases system robustness. Moreover, the proposed method can effectively avoid the singularity problem in backstepping control of virtual velocity error. The control system is proved to be uniformly ultimately bounded using Lyapunov stability theory. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the developed controller, which can realize accurate three-dimensional trajectory tracking for an underactuated AUV with constant external disturbances.
