A study on the estimation of the K-address information industry and its economic effect (주소정보산업 규모 산정 및 경제적 효과 분석)

  • This study aims to establish the scope and statistics of the K-address information industry in Korea, estimating its size and prospects and estimates the economic effects through K-address information industry based on Input-Output analysis. Considering the characteristics and sectoral structure of the K-address information industry, the study delineates the scope and specific sectors, constructing sectoral statistics linked to the KSIC and the Bank of Korea's industrial classification. The study estimates the sectoral industry size, taking into account potential markets. Furthermore, it analyzes the economic impact of each sector within the K-address information industry. To figure out the economic effects, the study conducts Input-Output analysis by setting the K-address information industry as an exogenous sector in the input-output table. The results indicate that the overall size of the K-address information industry is estimated to grow from 406.1 billion KRW in 2021 to 3.65 trillion KRW in 2030. The economic effects of the K-address information industry vary by sector, emphasizing the importance of synergies and integration with related sectors, particularly those with significant inducement effects in high value-added manufacturing and service sectors. Furthermore, the industry's sensitivity to economic fluctuations is evident through the input-output analysis of inter-industry chain effects.

  • The Kernelized Correlation Filters (KCF) tracker has caused the extensive concern in recent years because of the high efficiency. Numerous improvements have been made successively. However, due to the abrupt motion between the consecutive image frames, these methods cannot track object well. To cope with the problem, we propose an extended KCF tracker based on swarm intelligence method. Unlike existing KCF-based trackers, we firstly introduce a swarm-based sampling method to KCF tracker and design a unified framework to track smooth or abrupt motion simultaneously. Secondly, we propose a global motion estimation method, where the exploration factor is constructed to search the whole state space so as to adapt abrupt motion. Finally, we give an adaptive threshold in light of confidence map, which ensures the accuracy of the motion estimation strategy. Extensive experimental results in both quantitative and qualitative measures demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method in tracking abrupt motion.

  • It is necessary to respond to rapid technological changes such as the 4th industrial revolution and digital transformation across industries. And, a change in the university education system is necessary in a crisis situation of universities due to the rapid decrease of the school-age population. This study is aimed at practical competency with the ability to apply intelligent information technology to their job fields based on a basic understanding of intelligent information technology rather than advanced competency centered on theory and research. Instead of presenting the curriculum system diagram so that it can be flexibly applied to the design and development of the curriculum for intelligent information technology, training modules according to job and level were presented. In relation to intelligent information technology, a questionnaire was conducted for college professors, and industry experts were conducted on the derived educational modules to reflect the opinions of the industry. Industry experts said that collaboration with PBL, Capstone, and industry is necessary to improve problem-solving and communication skills.

A Study on the International Competitiveness of Korea′s Information and Telecommunication Industry (정보통신 산업의 국제 경쟁력 분석)

  • This study examines the international competitiveness of the Korean information and telecommunication industry by using competitiveness index such as the RCA index, the Trade Specialization index, and the Total Factor Productivity. The results of this study show that the industry's competitiveness slightly decreases since 1995, but not its the total factor productivity. In conclusion, the industry has kept the competitiveness over all. Therefore, to keep or improve the competitiveness continuously, the industry is required the government's intensive investment and administrative support. And the industry should bring up by venture and small-medium-size-enterprises to have great economic impacts on other industries. Also, the increasing production and export promoting policy will be enhance the industry and improve nation's balance of trade.

An Information Technology Usage Level Assessment Model for Service Industry (서비스산업의 IT활용수준 평가모델 개발)

  • The purpose of this research is to develop an information technology (IT) usage level assessment model for service industry. It is necessary to develop an assessment model for service industry's IT usage to improve service productivity. However, it is not easy to develop assessment models due to service industry's diversity. In this paper a generic IT usage assessment model for service industry has been developed and validated through a descriptive approach. Key factors affecting service productivity have been identified and analysed. A pilot test on IT usage level has been performed to investigate the relevance and importance of IT usage indicators (factors). As a result, a set of effective IT usage indicators for service industry have been found. A short-cut model and a full scale model have been proposed for efficient and effective usage. The results of this study can be used for enhancement of service industry productivity through the increase of IT usage level.

  • Tourism industry increasingly rely on information technology (IT) to improve the task performance. Many studies suggested that the evidence of IT showed not only task performance improvement but also organizational performance. Drawing from the resource-based view, technology and task fitness, and marketing orientation theories, this study proposes that IT use influences directly the task performance and proved the effectiveness of IT in the organizations of tourism industry. Further, the innovativeness, resources, and marketing orientation are identified as main determinants of IT use. The use of IT can serve as a catalyst in improving task performance for organizations in tourism industry. Based on data collected from surveying people who work in the tourism industry, the present study shed light on these issues. The findings provide a new perspective of IT effectiveness in the tourism industry. Then, we discussed the theoretical and practical implications.

This research analyzes Region Industry Total Information System status to manage regional R&D and suggests methods for regional industry project management.   • With the development of digital technology and the influence of the global pandemic, the metaverse, a three-dimensional virtual world, is receiving attention in society, economy and overall industry, and the manufacturing industry is also accepting it as a major strategic agenda for digital transformation. Therefore, in this study, the concept of the industry metaverse from the perspective of the manufacturing industry was defined, and the types of the industry metaverse were classified into four types by reflecting the characteristics of the manufacturing industry based on the general metaverse scenario presented in previous studies. These are Virtual behavior simulation, Augmented operation of business objects and Virtual experience simulation, Augmented decision of business subjects. In addition, through case analysis of solutions used in the manufacturing industry, it was confirmed that the central technology of the Industry Metaverse is the digital twin, and that it is being implemented by convergence with major digital technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, digital human, and AI. This study will be able to provide guidelines for future research on the metaverse from the perspective of the manufacturing industry and establishment of a digital transformation strategy for the industry.

  • In recent years, industrial convergence centered on ICBM (internet of things (IoT), cloud, big data, mobile) has been experiencing rapid development in various fields such as agriculture and the financial industry. In order to prepare for cyber threats, one of the biggest problems facing the convergence industry in the future, the development of the industry must proceed in tandem with a framework of information security. In this study, we analyze the details of the current industrial development policy and related information protection policies using cross impact analysis and present policy priorities through the expert questionnaire. The aim of the study was to clarify the priorities and interrelationships within information security policy as a first step in suggesting effective policy direction. As a result, all six information security policy tasks derived from this study belong to key drivers. Considering the importance of policies, policies such as improving the constitution of the security industry and strengthening of support, training of information protection talent, and investing in the information security industry need to be implemented relatively first.

  • Budget for the industry-university co-operation is expanded by the increasing of the importance of industry-university co-operation. Even though, industry and university do not co-operate voluntarily. Until now, there is no research about industry-university co-operation focusing on SMEs. This paper is about industry-university co-operation focusing on SMEs. In this paper, we introduce the status and structural problems of industry-university co-operation related with SMEs. And we derive the problems of industry-university co-operation in terms of co-operation purpose. Industry-university co-operation in terms of co-operation purpose can be categorized as R&D, technology transfer, infrastructure, and manpower training. And last, we suggest how we improve the industry-university co-operation system to benefit SMEs.
