  • This study investigated the 16 priority PAH concentrations and emission sources from two region (Southwest and East) soils in Jeollanamdo. National industrial complexes have been operated in these regions. PAH concentrations in east region were higher than southeast region, and 9.1 times higher for polluted area and approximately 8.5 times higher for industrial complex were observed. Individual PAH ratios and LMW/HMW ratio indicated that PAHs were emitted from pyrogenic sources in two regions. Average Ant/(Ant+Phe) ratios in southwest and east were 0.14 and 0.22, respectively. From a principal component analysis, it was concluded that PAHs were originated from vehicles and coal power plants.

  • The purpose of Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is to design the least costly (distance, time) routes for a fleet of identically capacitated vehicles to serve geographically scattered customers. There may be some restrictions such as the maximal capacity for each vehicle, maximal distance for each vehicle, time window to visit the specific customers, and so forth. This paper is concerned with VRP to minimize the sum of elapsed time from departure, where the elapsed time is defined as the time taken in a moving vehicle from the depot to each customer. It is important to control the time taken from departure in the delivery of perishable products or foods, whose freshness may deteriorate during the delivery time. An integer linear programming formulation is suggested and a heuristic for practical use is constructed. The heuristic is based on the set partitioning problem whose performances are compared with those of ILOG dispatcher. It is shown that the suggested heuristic gave good solutions within a short computation time by computational experiments.

  • In the Electric Vehicle(EV) driving system, the Battery Management System(BMS) is very important and an essential equipment. Particularly, BMS monitors the State of Charge(SOC), voltage, current, and temperature of the battery modules when Electric Vehicle is in the state of motoring or charging. Major roles of BMS are like these the first, estimation of State of Charge(SOC), the second, detection of the unbalance of the voltage between battery modules, the third, control of the available limit of the voltage and temperature of batteries by monitoring the batteries status during motoring or charging. In this research, We have focused on estimating SOC of battery according to the status of Electric Vehicle and the BMS operation algorithm. The result for algorithm of SOC estimation is presented. It have been modified, compensated, and verified by means of the experiment.

  • Today, due to the development of the industrial society, the need for sustainable research and development for energy depletion and environmental protection is increasing. Among sustainable research, remanufacturing is an ideal way to meet environmental and economic aspects. In this paper, we investigated the End-of-Life Vehicle(ELV) in order to find the recovery method of the core which is the preceding stage of remanufacturing. The number of End-of-Life Vehicle is increasing year by year, but the core recovery rate from ELV is still low. Therefore, a methodology to determine the disassembly priority of each part is proposed to increase the core recovery rate. Based on the analysis Table through the disassembly process, the decision rule was selected and the weighted score evaluation Table was completed to complete the disassembly priority system. Finally, evaluation was made on gasoline vehicles to determine priorities.

  • Space development has been led by the state due to huge investment, risks of development failure, and restrictions on international cooperation on technology development and transfer. For this reason, it has been developed mainly by some advanced countries and industrial network formed among them. However, Korean space industry is being promoted by the successful launch of 'KSLV-I' and 'CAS 500-I' and the space launch vehicle "KSLV-II" under development. Recently, Korea and U.S. agreed to end bilateral missile guidelines. Therefore it is expected that development of Korean space industry will be accelerated due to the disappearance of the constraining factors for the development of space launch vehicles. Accordingly, this study examined the development and formation of the Korean space industry through the framework of network analysis. Based on this, the effect of structural position in the industrial network as a resource on the performance of Korean space companies was examined. Panel analysis was applied. Through this study, ideas for fostering the domestic space industry and implications for national policy related with building an industrial ecosystem are derived. It contributes to the development of space industry in Korea.

  • Hydrostatic transmission (HST) comprises rotary parts, shafts, valve plate, swashplate, and servo pistons. Ensuring structural stability of each part of an HST has a significant impact on product safety. In this study, the structural stability of HST in agricultural machinery and industrial vehicles was analyzed using ANSYS software. For conservative evaluation, high-pressure conditions (35.5 MPa and 2 MPa pilot pressure) were applied as load conditions. The number of grids used in the calculations ranged from 0.4 to 0.8 million depending on modeling requirements. Structural analysis was performed for essential parts and safety factor was analyzed. All major parts of HST had a safety factor of ≥ 1.5. Thus, they were judged to be structurally safe. This study provides important information for designing an HST system.

  • In this paper, we developed a 100% detection system for entering and leaving vehicles by improving the detection rate of existing detection cameras based on the LiDAR sensor, which is one of the core technologies of the 4th industrial revolution. Since the currently operating parking lot depends only on the recognition rate of the license plate number of about 98%, there are various problems such as inconsistency in the entry/exit count, inability to make a reservation in advance due to inaccurate information provision, and inconsistency in real-time parking information. Parking status information should be managed with 100% accuracy, and for this, we built a parking lot entrance/exit detection system using LIDAR. When a parking system is developed by applying the LIDAR sensor, which is mainly used to detect vehicles and objects in autonomous vehicles, it is possible to improve the accuracy of vehicle entry/exit information and the reliability of the entry/exit count with the detected sensing information. The resolution of LIDAR was guaranteed to be 100%, and it was possible to implement so that the sum of entering (+) and exiting (-) vehicles in the parking lot was 0. As a result of testing with 3,000 actual parking lot entrances and exits, the accuracy of entering and exiting parking vehicles was 100%.

  • This study has developed a packaging criterion to minimize the level of discomfort which drivers using their vehicles for daily life purposes may experience due to ill designed vehicle packaging of mid-size sedan based on users' daily-life scenario. To find out optimal range of packaging dimension criterion, discomfort levels the test participants with different physical conditions suffer while performing various activities were analyzed. One hundred two test participants were carefully selected to represent entire Korean mid-size sedan owner-drivers. They were directed to test drive on the course designed to simulate mid-size sedan daily-usage scenario. At pre-designed locations, each of questions was asked to the test participants to be answered in the form of 10 point discomfort level score. By analyzing the test results, the optimal range for packaging dimensions was defined to be used as a packaging criterion.

  • Micro Electric Vehicles are considered as a solution for reducing $CO_2$ emissions, however, it is difficult to evaluate its impact in a local community when it has been introduced. In this study, we evaluated how to spread the Micro EV within the community, using the utility derived from a multinomial logit model, and analyze the effect on $CO_2$ emissions. The householder's utility model is based on an investigation about Kiryu citizen's activities of shopping, transportation methods, etc. Using the geographic information system, we get the distances of each householder and the stores, and estimate a multinomial logit model about the combination choices of shopping stores and transportation method.

  • According to electrical output up rating of a permanent magnet motor and request to operate for a large variable speed range, resonance between structural natural vibration and electromagnetic force inside the motor can take place and make noise. This paper describes the mechanism of a resonance between them and noise lowering procedure by frequency shift when they are applied to the reluctance torque largely employed new motor named Permanent magnet Reluctance Motor (PRM).
