  • This study examined the arrangement attribute of each component based on the relationship among the components using space syntax at the entire complex level when analyzing the outdoor space of an apartment complex in Cheonan and as a preliminary study. The accessibility change in the access space to each space and to the facilities were examined based on a resident walking in the perspective that the outdoor spaces of the apartment complex are one spatial structure connected together. The space was divided into a total of 5 periods and the access space to the facilities and spaces located in outdoor space of the apartment complex were established as the unit space. In this study, a total of 6 analysis items were established: main complex access space, main building access space, shopping mall within complex, control office/center for senior citizens, children's playground, and resident sports facilities. In the analysis, the following conclusion was obtained. First, the accessibility to the main complex access space was high over almost all periods and the main building access space generally showed low accessibility. Second, the shopping mall showed a tendency that the closer the period, the more the accessibility is increased. Third, the control office/center for senior citizens, which can be considered as a common resident space and the children's playground out of the resident sports facilities, showed an exceptional tendency, the integration order was constantly high without a large change by the period and the control office/center for senior citizens showed the tendency for a high integration order, indicating that it is planned mainly in a location with good accessibility.

  • Learning community is one of the important pillars of the education in knowledge-based society. How to encourage students' spontaneous participation to the learning community is one of the actual problems to solve for the revolution of the education scheme. In this paper we introduce a strategy to boost the activity of the learning community, which works in the on-line space. The keys for the on-line supporting system for the learning community are to have communication space, trading space and connection with industry. To support activities of each space, we provide an on-line web site which includes a community module, a knowledge market module and an industrial commentary module. Students can start their self-leading study in the communication space, and they can also practice skills for the knowledge management in the knowledge trading space. Through the connection space, they can learn more from the real world critics with help of industry.

  • The industry related to commercial space transport is growing rapidly as a futurity industry all over the world and America is leading them. If this trend continues, domestic individuals or private enterprises may plan for the commercial space transport business by adopting the advanced technology. Therefore it is necessary to make a law to control the business in our country for the industrial development and the growth related to commercial space transport. This paper provides outline for domestic commercial space transport law by the study and analysis of U.S. commercial space transport laws.

  • We suggests an effective method to construct time-varying C-obstacles in the 3-dimensional configuration space (C-space) using free arc. The concept of free arc was defined mathematically and the procedure to find free arc in the case off-dimensional C-space was derived in [1]. We showed that time-varying C-obstacles can be constructed efficiently using this concept, and presented simulation results for two SCARA robot manipulators to verify the efficacy of the proposed approach. In this paper, extensions of this approach to the 3-dimensional C-space is introduced since nearly all industrial manipulators are reasonably treated ill the too or three dimensional C-space f3r collision avoidance problem The free arc concept is summarized briefly and the method to find lice arc in the 3-dimensional f-space is explained. To show that this approach enables us to solve a practical collision avoidance problem simulation results f3r two PUMA robot manipulators are presented.

  • The bin packing problem (BPP) is an NP-Complete Problem. The problem can be described as there are $N=\{1,2,{\cdots},n\}$ which is a set of item indices and $L=\{s1,s2,{\cdots},sn\}$ be a set of item sizes sj, where $0<sj{\leq}1$, ${\forall}j{\in}N$. The objective is to minimize the number of bins used for packing items in N into a bin such that the total size of items in a bin does not exceed the bin capacity. Assume that the bins have capacity equal to one. In the past, many researchers put on effort to find the heuristic algorithms instead of solving the problem to optimality. Then, the quality of solution may be measured by the asymptotic worst-case ratio or the average-case ratio. The First Fit Decreasing (FFD) is one of the algorithms that its asymptotic worst-case ratio equals to 11/9. Many researchers prove the asymptotic worst-case ratio by using the weighting function and the proof is in a lengthy format. In this study, we found an easier way to prove that the asymptotic worst-case ratio of the First Fit Decreasing (FFD) is not more than 11/9. The proof comes from two ideas which are the occupied space in a bin is more than the size of the item and the occupied space in the optimal solution is less than occupied space in the FFD solution. The occupied space is later called the weighting function. The objective is to determine the maximum occupied space of the heuristics by using integer programming. The maximum value is the key to the asymptotic worst-case ratio.

  • This paper presents a implementation of speed sensorless vector control of induction motor using MATLAB/SIMULINK and dSPACE DS1104. Proposed flux estimation algorithm, which utilize the combination of the voltage model based on stator equivalent model and the current model based on rotor equivalent model, enables stable estimation of rotor flux. Proposed rotor speed estimation algorithm utilizes the estimated flux. And the estimated rotor speed is used to speed control of induction motor. Overall system consists of speed controller, current controller, and flux controller using the most general PI controller. Speed sensorless vector control algorithm is implemented as block diagrams using MATLAB/SIMULINK. And realtime control is performed by dSPACE DS1104 control board and Real-Time-Interface(RTI).

  • In Catholic Cathedrals, the Liturgy space is central to the worship of the church and the player. The composition of the liturgical space affects the sensitivity of the worshiper. Because this sensitivity is connected with the faith, it is a very important consideration for planning elements. In this study, the light sensitivity of the elements that identify the most important factors in changing the devotion and in liturgical space was planned to emphasize the role of light. Understanding the meaning and importance of the liturgical space determine the spatial phase and role. Therefore, to analyze the functional and emotional properties of the light, the properties, roles and conditions of the light were organized. The data was analyzed as the target of sensitivity to light. Through the case studies of light, the effectiveness and adequacy as well as the application conditions could be understood. The results obtained in this study suggest a plan for light elements applied in the liturgical space.

  • This study attempted quantitative analysis by space syntax on the plan of a non-hierarchical arrangement, which selected SANAA's work after Almere Stadt Theater, and analyzed the difference in the quantitative value of the non-hierarchical arrangement in plan that appears externally. The analysis results were as follows. First, SANAA's spaces with a non-hierarchical arrangement plan that appears externally showed a definite quantitative value difference, and had a hierarchical space difference in the plan that does not appear externally. Second, the spaces with a high integration value also had a high connectivity value, which is indicated by increasing the number of space openings using the method of giving hierarchy to the non-hierarchical arrangement plan or adjusting the size of the room or location to grant hidden hierarchy. Third, SANAA used exterior corridor rather than interior corridor in grid-type plan to solve the accessibility problem, and the open coat spaces between rooms provide natural lighting and ventilation and are used as equipment that controls the hidden hierarchy of space at the same time.

  • This paper presents a vector control implementation for SPMSM(Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) using dSPACE 1104 system and MATLAB/SIMULINK. SPMSM can be treated as a DC motor provided that currents of flux and torque component are controlled independently using vector control. Therefore various control algorithms for conventional DC motor control can be adopted to SPMSM. The system is designed to improve set-point tracking capability, fast response, and accuracy In This paper, d-q equivalent modeling of PMSM is derived based on vector control theory. PI controller is used for speed control and decoupling PI controller is used for current control. For the implementation of high performance vector control system, dSPACE 1104 system is used. Experiments were carried out to examine validity of the proposed vector control implementation.
