Static VAR Compensator-based Feedback Control Implementation for Self-Excited Induction Generator Terminal Voltage Regulation Driven by Variable-Speed Prime Mover

  • In this paper, the steady-state analysis of the three-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG) driven by a variable-speed prime mover (VSPM) such as a wind turbine is presented. The steady-state torque-speed characteristics of the VSPM are considered with the three-phase SEIG equivalent circuit for evaluating the operating performances due to the inductive load variations. Furthermore, a PI closed-loop feedback voltage regulation scheme based on the static VAR compensator (SVC) for the three-phase SEIG driven by the VSPM is designed and considered for the wind power generation conditioner. The simulation and experimental results prove the practical effectiveness of the additional SVC with the PI controller-based feedback loop in terms of fast response and high performances.

  • 최근에 이르기까지 교통분야에서 차량에 관한 정보를 수집하기 위하여 사용되고 있는 검지쳬계는 유도식 루프검지기 (Inductive Loop Detector,ILD)이다. 유도식 검지기로 부터 수집되는 교통자료는 점유시간(차량이 검지기를 점유한시간)과 비점유시간(통행 차량과 차량간의 시간차)및 교통량이 기초 수집자료가 된다. 특히 점유 시간은 신호의 현시 길이를 결정 및 과포화제어를 위한 대기행렬예측 등 다양한 관제알고리즘에 있어서 핵심적인 자료이므로 높은 신뢰도가 요구된다. 이러한 신뢰도는 검지로 부터 수집될 수 있는 자료들을 토대로 통행 차종을 식별함으로써 향상시킬 수 있으며, 관련 관제 알고리즘의 신뢰도 향상은 물론 최근 관심이 고조되고 있는 무인자동감시 체계 및 교통정보 자동 수집장치의 개발을 유도할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 통행하는 차량들에 대하여 수집 되는 기초자료를 기반으로 인식하기 위한 방법으로 통계적 클러스터링 방법 두 가지와 신경망 클러스터링 방법 등 세가지 방법을 제시하고, 결과로서 무인 자동감시 체계에 관한 활용 방법을 제시한다.

KT-1 토카막의 전자석 코일에 의한 유도가열탈리

  • 토카막(Tokamak)에서는 플라즈마(plasma)로 불순불(impurity)의 유입을 방지하기 위해 고진공을 유지해야 하며 이를 위해 가열탈리(backing), 방전세정(discharge codanning) 등 wall conditioning이 기본적으로 요구된다. KT-1 토카막은 실험실 이전에 따른 해체로 인해 진공용기(vacuum vessel) 가 대기압 하에 수개월 동안 노출되어 있었기 때문에 재조립 후 가열 탈 리가 필수적이나 진공용기의 외부에 saddle loop coil을 비롯해 Rogowski, diamagnetic coil, poloidal field coil 등 많은 magnetic pick up coil 들이 설치되어 있어 열선 등 일반적인 방법으로 가열 탈 리가 어려운 상황이다. 따라서 KT-1 토카막에서는 전자석 코일에 상전원을 부가하였을 때 진공용기에 발생하는 유도가열 (inductive heatin)을 이용해 가열 탈리를 시도하였다. 유도 가열 탈리(inductive backing)는 토로이달 자장 코일(toroidal field coil)과 가열 저장 모일(ohmic heating coil)을 각각 이용하여 코일의 온도가 6$0^{\circ}C$ 이하가 유지되는 코일 전류 범위내에서 수행하였으며 먼저 이 둥 경우에 있어서 진공용기의 온도분포를 비교하엿다. 그리고 가열 탈리 기간 및 그 전, 후의 진공압력과 잔류기체 분압을 측정, 분석하였다. 유도가열에 의한 방법으로 KT-1 토카막에서 얻은 탈리온도는 12$0^{\circ}C$정도로 비교적 낮았으나 탈리 시간을 연장하여 탈리효과를 어느 정도 보상할 수 있으며 일반적인 가열 탈리가 여려운 경우 유도 가열 탈 리가 채택될 수 있는 또 하나의 방법이라 볼 수 있다.

  • In this paper, the single-phase static VAR compensator (SVC) is applied to regulate and stabilize the generated terminal voltage of the single-phase self-excited induction generator (single-phase SEIG) driven by a variable-speed prime mover (VSPM) under the conditions of the independent inductive load variations and the prime mover speed changes The conventional fixed gain PI controller-based feedback control scheme is employed to adjust the equivalent capacitance of the single-phase SVC composed of the fixed excitation capacitor FC in parallel with the thyristor switched capacitor TSC and the thyristor controlled reactor TCR The feedback closed-loop terminal voltage responses in the single-phase SEIG coupled by a VSPM with different inductive passive load disturbances using the single-phase SVC with the PI controller are considered and discussed herem. A VSPM coupled the single-phase SEIG prototype setup is established. Its experimental results are illustrated as compared with its simulation ones and give good agreements with the digital simulation results for the single-phase SEIG driven by a VSPM, which is based on the SVC voltage regulation feedback control scheme.

Analysis of Switching Clamped Oscillations of SiC MOSFETs

  • SiC MOSFETs have been used to improve system efficiency in high frequency converters due to their extremely high switching speed. However, this can result in undesirable parasitic oscillations in practical systems. In this paper, models of the key components are introduced first. Then, theoretical formulas are derived to calculate the switching oscillation frequencies after full turn-on and turn-off in clamped inductive circuits. Analysis indicates that the turn-on oscillation frequency depends on the power loop parasitic inductance and parasitic capacitances of the freewheeling diode and load inductor. On the other hand, the turn-off oscillation frequency is found to be determined by the output parasitic capacitance of the SiC MOSFET and power loop parasitic inductance. Moreover, the shifting regularity of the turn-off maximum peak voltage with a varying switching speed is investigated on the basis of time domain simulation. The distortion of the turn-on current is theoretically analyzed. Finally, experimental results verifying the above calculations and analyses are presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 미소전력 무선루프식 차량검지기술을 활용하여 무선루프식 차량검지기를 일체로 한 발리스 연구를 진행하였다. 검지정보를 센터까지 수집하기 위한 방법으로 중계기 및 검지정보 수집장치의 무급전(태양광)운영 가능성을 평가하기 위하여 현장시험을 진행하고, 철도환경을 대신하여 차량 회전율 특성이 유사하다고 판단된 12개의 주차장 환경에서 시험 및 분석 하였다. 운영 데이터를 분석한 결과, 현장수집장치로 수집되는 통과차량(열차, 트램 및 일반차량 등) 대수가 200회/일 내외인 경우 미소전력 무선 루프검지기 일체형 발리스를 활용한 차량검지 시스템의 운영이 무급전 무선통신으로 가능할 것으로 추정된다.

  • With the rapid development of information and communication technology, CBTC system based on the wireless communication is widely applied in the railway signal system recently. CBTC system has advantages of lower installation space and maintenance fee than existing systems and the increase of transportation capacity and improvement of operating efficiency etc. due to the short headway. Based on the continuous wireless data communication between onboard and wayside equipment, CBTC system not only locates the train and transmits the information required for the train control, but also implements the moving block function by calculating the brake curves continuously according to distance from the preceding train. CBTC system can use either inductive loop (IL-CBTC) or radio frequency transmissions (RF-CBTC). In this paper, we propose RF-CBTC system architecture based on the functional modules, in which the CAN bus network is applied for the interfaces between the modules.

  • More and All-Electric Aircraft (AEA) carry many loads with varied functions. In particular, there may be large pulsed loads with short duty ratio, which can affect the normal operation of other loads. In this paper, a bi-directional converter with inductive storage is used as a voltage bus conditioner (VBC) to mitigate voltage transients on the bus. In addition, the constant frequency hysteresis control technique for a VBC is presented. A simple and fast prediction of the hysteresis band-width is implemented by the phase-lock loop control, keeping constant switching frequency. This technique offers the excellent dynamic response in load or parameter variation. The control performance is illustrated by simulated results with the SABER package, The proposed hysteresis control results in the shortest and the smallest excursions.

Magnetically Soft Nanomaterials Obtained by Devitrification of Metallic Glasses

  • Magnetically soft nanomaterials obtained by controlled crystallisation of metallic glasses are the newest group of materials for inductive components. In particular, research is carried out in the field of alloys for high temperature applications. This kind of materials must meet two basic requirements: good magnetic properties and stability of properties and structure. In the present work the magnetic properties and structure of Fe-Co-Hf-Zr-Cu-B (HIDTPERM-type) alloys were investigated, as well as their stability. Differential thermal analysis, (DTA), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), magnetometry (VSM) and quasistatic hysteresis loop recording were used to characterise structure and properties of the alloys investigated. Optimisation against properties and their stability was performed, resulting in formulation of chemical composition of the optimum alloy, as well as its heat treatment.
