  • In this paper, interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) design for sensorless drive, considering magnetic neutral point shift according to magnetic saturation, has been proposed. Sensorless control was divided into a method based on inductance and a method based on back induced voltage. Because induced voltage is very small at zero or low speed, error in rotor initial position estimation may occur. Using the ratio of saliency addresses this problem. When using high-frequency injections at low speed, the rotor's initial position is estimated at the smallest portion of the inductance. IPMSM has the minimum inductance at the d-axis. However, if magnetic saturation leads to magnetic neutral point variation, following the load current change, there is a change in the minimum point of inductance. In this case, it can lead to failure of initial rotor position estimation. As a result, it is essential that the blocking design has an inductance minimum point shift. As such, in this study, an IPMSM design method, by blocking magnetic neutral point change, has been proposed. After determining the inductance profile based on the finite element analysis (FEA), the results of proposed method were verified.

  • This paper presents a new analytical representation and simulation of the phase inductance of a Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) using Matlab/M-file. This simulation method has many advantages: it is free from expression, can be applied widely, demonstrates inductance profile using motor parameter only, and save run time. Moreover, this simulation method can be easily realize various SRM model unlikely the existing method that limited itself to one model. And analytical expression for inductance profile is welcome as it allows for easier analysis of the motor, for it can bring insight in it working, in formulating control strategies and in achieving high accuracy in performance computations.

  • This paper describes a current-shaping method for the production of constant torque of SRM under the nonlinear magnetic saturation condition. A current detection technique in the inductance increasing region and an approximation technique for modeling of nonlinear inductance profile are adopted. In the proposed system, a single switching angle control and voltage control is used to shape the current waveform for the generation of flat torque at any given load condition. Finally the validity of the proposed method was verified using a constructed 3HP 6/4 SRM.

  • The Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) has good properties to the adjustable speed control. But, high torque ripple and noise decrease this merit and make unstable state. Also, because of the saturation in the magnetic circuit, it is difficult to predict the inductance profile. If the inductance pronto is known, it's possible to make flat-top torque by applying some control strategy. This paper suggests method to develope flat-top torque using a Artificial Neural Network(ANN) method that can calculate a nonlinear inductance profile.

  • This Paper analysis variable characteristics of inductance profiles and basic magnetic fields for Switched Reluctance Motors(SRM). The varying Inductance and flux linkage on operating control condition are very important for developing control algorithm and SRM accurate drive system. Therefore, we have analytical model for varying inductance and flux linkage with simulation and experimental mothed, and to find an analytical expression for the SRM coenergy. There are shown some good results that comparison of simulated and analytical inductance, flux linkage and current waves.

  • A coreless printed circuit board(PCB) transformer is employed in a contactless energy transfer circuit that achieves an efficient power conversion at the presence of a considerable airgap between the source and the load side. A half-bridge series resonant converter is selected as the contactless energy transfer circuit in order to minimize the detrimental effects of large leakage inductance small magnetizing inductance and poor coupling coefficient of the coreless PCB transformer. The operation and performance of the proposed contactless power converter are verified on a 7 W experimental circuit that provides an 18V/0.4A output from a 210-370 V input source.

  • Switched Reluctance Motors(SRMs) have a considerable inherent torque ripple due to the driving characteristics of pulse current waveform and the nonlinear variation inductance profile. This paper describes a current shape characteristics to effect a torque ripple reduction, and one pulse mode switching control method is proposed to minimize torque ripple of a switched reluctance motor regardless of speed and load condition by regulating tow parameters, such as, advance angle and exciting voltage. The experiments are performed to verify the capability of proposed switching method on 6/4 salient type SRM.

  • Recently, the Single phase SRM has been researched and developed in many appliances with various types. This paper presents a theoretical representation of the phase inductance of a single phase SRM, as function of position and current, taking into account the non-linearity of the magnetic circuit. The method is based on the Fourier series expansion. the theoretical expressions for the calculation of instantaneous phase inductance, flux linkage, coenergy and electromagnetic torque as a function of rotor position and winding currents are derived. And it is compared with the results of the finite element analysis.
