단일벽 탄소나노튜브의 표면 전도도 조절 및 유전영동에 대한 영향 (Surface Conductance Modulation of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes and Effects on Dielectrophoresis)

  • Dielectrophoresis has received considerable attention for separating nanotubes according to electronic types. Here we examine the effects of surface conductivity of semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT), induced by ionic surfactants, on the sign of dielectrophoretic force. The crossover frequency of semiconducting SWNT increases rapidly as the conductivity ratio between the particle and medium increases, leading to an incomplete separation of ionic surfactant suspended SWNT at an electric field frequency of 10 MHz. The surface charge of SWNT is neutralized by an equimolar mixture of anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and cationic surfactant cetyltrimenthylammonium bromide (CTAB), resulting in negative dielectrophoresis of semiconducting species at 10 MHz. A comparative Raman spectroscopy study shows a nearly complete separation of metallic SWNT.

  • The Judd-Ofelt theory is becoming basis that induced of ligand field of electric dipole transitions of between 4f electic states. It is developed for the rare earth ions through judd and of ofelt. This theory be applicate success to the raer earth ions in solid, liquid and gas state. This paper reports a optical characteristices of Nd:glass by using the Judd-Ofelt Method.

  • In this paper, we present a study of the structure and electro-optic behavior of hybrid liquid-crystal-silica sphere composite photonic crystals, formed by filling the (26% by volume) void space of fee (face centered cubic) silica opals infiltrated with a nematic liquid crystal. Three dimensional photonic crystals of visible range were fabricated via a self assembly method of silica spheres of submicron diameter. The expected fee structure was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of the dehydrated crystal with glass removed. The photonic crystal exhibited significant electric-field-induced shift of the optical Bragg reflection peak when the liquid crystal has the long molecular axis oriented parallel to the sphere surfaces.

Conformational Dynamics of Heme Pocket in Myoglobin and Hemoglobin

  • The conformational dynamics of heme pocket, a small vacant site near the binding site of heme proteins -myoglobin (Mb) and hemoglobin (Hb), was investigated after photolysis of carbon monoxide from MbCO and HbCO in D$_2$O solution at 283 K by probing time-resolved vibrational spectra of photolyzed CO. Two absorption bands, arising from CO in the heme pocket, evolve nonexponentially in time. The band at higher energy side blue shifts and broadens with time and the one at lower energy side narrows significantly with a negligible shift. These spectral evolutions are induced by protein conformational changes following photolysis that modify structure and electric field of heme pocket, and ligand dynamics in it. The conformational changes affecting the spectrum of photolyzed CO in heme pocket likely modulates ligand-binding activity.

Simple polarimetric method for electro-optic coefficients

  • A simple technique to measure electro-optic coefficients has been developed. It is based on rotating analyzer polarimetry. With a coaxial configuration of the optically active polarizing devices, the synchronously digitized signals are Fourier analyzed to quantitatively determine the elliptical polarization of light and, hence, the electric field induced birefringence. This technique has the advantage that it does not require waveguiding, and since it is improved from the crossed polarizer method it measures the phase retardation directly. It has been applied for the precise determination of electro-optic coefficients of uniaxial LiNbO3 single crystals. The excellent agreeement with reported values confirms its usefulness toward accurate characterization of electro-optic coefficients of unknown specimens.

유한 도전성 영상 평면이 PCB 전자파 복사에 미치는 영향 분석 (Effect of finite conductive image planes on PCB radiation)

  • 본 논문에서는 전류 라인 아래, 위에 놓은 유한 도전성 다층 영상 평면이 전자파 복사에 미치는 영향을 분석하였으며, 전류 라인과 영상 평면의 폭, 전류 라인과 평면의 거리 등의 함수로 영상 평면의 EMI 차폐성능을 계산하였다. 영상 평면에 유도된 전류분포는 모멘트 기법을 이용하여 전계 적분방정식을 풀어서 계산하였으며, 전류분포를 작은 매트릭스 크기로 효율적으로 구하기 위해 전류분포의 변화를 고려하여 적분구간을 분할하는 새로운 방법을 제안하고 그 결과를 다른 방법과 비교하였다.

  • In order to prevent the belt from being damaged by metal pieces, we developed multicoil-type metal detection system. This detects the presence of belt clips and position of metal pieces in ores being transported on conveyor belt. In this research, our coil sensor of multicoil-type metal detection system is divided into two parts, exciting part (transmitter coil) and sensing part composed of two receiver coils. Each receiver coil has several coils in the direction of belt width. Multicoil-type metal detection system is operated by supplying a transmitter coil with electric power resources to generate magnetic field, and then the change of magnetic flux resulted from a metal piece on the conveyor be a is induced into sensing coils. We can prevent detector from failing to catch metal pieces due to high threshold level produced by steel belt clips and male the sensitivity of belt-width direction uniform by using multicoil-type metal detection system. Besides, this developed system can recognize precise position and size of metal piece. The experiments shows that our multicoil-type metal detection system has better performances than the conventional metal piece detector.

Poling된 실리카 유리의 2차비선형광학효과와 공간전하분극의 관계 (Induced Second Order Optical Nonlinearity in Thermally Poled Silica Glasses)

  • The cause of Scond Harmonic Generation (SHG) in thermally poled silica glass is suggested basedon the electrical and dielectric relaxation measurements. The absorption currents as functions of time were measured for various types of silica glasses and analyzed by the theory of Space Charge Polarization. Space charge polarization occurs when an ionic conducting material is subjected to dc electric field with blocking electrode. Thermal poling performed to induce SHG in silica glass is basically identical to the process generating space charge polarization. Hence it was found that gene-ration removal reproduction and temperature dependence of SHG in poled silica is directly related to those of space charge polarization. It turned out that the fundamental parameters governing the SHG in poled silica are charge carrier concentration and mobility. Based on the theory of space charge polarization and experimental results of electrical rela-xation the method to increase the intensity of SHG is proposed.

InP 다이오드에서 항복전압의 해석적 모델 (Analytical Model for Breakdown Voltages of InP Diodes)

  • InP의 전자와 정공의 이온화계수로부터 추출한 유효이온화계수를 이용하여 InP 다이오드의 항복전압을 위한 해석적 표현식을 유도하였다. 해석적 항복전압 결과를 $N_D=6\times10^{14}cm^{-3}\sim3\times10^{17}cm^{-3}$의 도핑 농도에서 수치적 결과 및 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 각 농도에 따른 해석적 항복전압은 수치 해석적 결과와 매우 잘 일치하였고, 실험 결과와는 10% 이내의 오차로 잘 일치하였다.

  • 任意의 形態를 갖는 線形 안테나를 여러 區間으로 나누어 이를 moment 法에 의한 數値解析을 하므로서 旣存 유기 기전력 방법이나 retrarded potential method 보다 실제에 가까운 電流分布를 용이하게 얻을 수 있는 式을 유도하였다. 이 결과를 利用하여 三素子 yagi 안테나에 適用하여 電流分布와 射패턴이 旣存文獻의 理論値와 잘 일치할 수 있음을 보였다.
