This paper describes on a position detection method for the motors which have repetitive operations using the Algorithmic State Machine(ASM), one of the digital logic design methods. With analyses for the incremental encoder output patterns, state diagram and state table are constructed and a digital circuit which can detect the changing point of direction of motor rotation is designed. To verify the validity of the designed circuit, simulations for all cases in which the direction of motor rotation is changed, are performed. Simulation results show the designed digital circuit can detect the direction of motor rotation accurately for all cases.

This study proposes compensation methods for the initial position error and torque ripple in vector control of two-phase hybrid stepping motors. Stepping motors have an asymmetrical structure due to misalignment, such as the eccentricity generated by the manufacturing and assembly process. When vector control is applied using the position information measured by an incremental encoder attached to the rotor shaft of such stepping motors, the following problems occur. First, an initial position error occurs during the forced excitation process for the initial rotor position alignment. Second, torque ripple corresponding to the mechanical rotation frequency is generated. In this study, these non-ideal phenomena that occur in vector control of the stepping motor are analyzed, and compensation methods are proposed to eliminate them. The validity of the proposed initial position error and torque ripple compensation methods is verified through experiments on a two-phase hybrid stepping motor drive system.
The precast reinforced concrete frame system is a method for industrialization of construction. However, the seismic performance factor of this structural system is not explicitly clarified in some existing building codes. In this paper, the seismic performance factor for the existing precast concrete building frame systems with cast-in-situ reinforced shear walls were evaluated. Nonlinear behavior of the precast beam-column joints and cast-in-situ reinforced shear walls were considered in the modeling of the structures. The ATC-19's coefficient method was used for calculating the seismic performance factor and the FEMA P-695's approach was adopted for evaluating the accuracy of the computed seismic performance factor. The results showed that the over-strength factor varies from 2 to 2.63 and the seismic performance factor (R factor) varies from 5.1 to 8.95 concerning the height of the structure. Also, it was proved that all of the examined buildings have adequate safety against the collapse at the MCE level of earthquake, so the validity of R factors was confirmed. The obtained incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) results indicated that the minimum adjusted collapse margin ratio (ACMR) of the precast buildings representing the seismic vulnerability of the structures approximately equaled to 2.7, and pass the requirements of FEMA P-695.
The Comprehensive Assessment of Psychopathic Personality(CAPP) is an emerging comprehensive approach that makes use of 99 items in 33 symptoms to well-represented psychopathic personality disorder, but cross-cultural generalizability of this potential model have not endured extensive validation to date. The current study sought to validate the recently published CAPP-Self-Report form(CAPP-SR). 311 participants were derived from eleven prisons by the systematic sampling. They were administered the CAPP-SR, Triarchic Psychopathy Measure(TriPM), Levenson's SRP(LSRP), Short Dark Tetrad(SD-4), and Korean Offender Risk Assessment-General(KORAS-G designed for predicting Korean offenders'recidivism. The results showed that the CAPP-SR total, domain, and symptom scores were generally associated with TriPM, LSRP, SD-4, and KORAS-G scores in a manner consistent with conceptual expectations. Also. the findings cross-culturally provide support for construct validity and incremental validity of the CAPP-SR in Korea as well as have clinical implications for the CAPP model more broadly, which are discussed.
Due to recent demographic changes, employees from diverse generations now work together in organizations. Thus, there is a need for research on intergenerational cooperation. However, the lack of valid and reliable measures to capture intergenerational climate in the workplace is an obstacle to research. Therefore, we translated the Workplace Intergenerational Climate Scale(WICS) into Korean and validated it with a sample of 1,052 Korean full-time employees. Firstly, we conducted an exploratory factor analysis by using sample 1(N = 460) and revealed a five-factor solution. Secondly, the confirmatory factor analysis(sample 2; N = 592) showed a good model fit of the correlated five-factor model. Thirdly, the scale's discriminant and convergent validity was supported by negative correlations with four types of existing ageism scales and by positive correlations with trust, organizational commitment, work engagement, psychological safety, intention to remain, job satisfaction, and communication satisfaction. Moreover, it further demonstrated significant incremental validity in predicting positive outcome variables even when controlling for pre-existing agism scales. Lastly, we confirmed strict measurement invariance of the scale between the age groups(below 40 versus above 40). The findings support the reliability and validity of the Korean version of WICS among Korean employees. The scale will be broadly applied to measure intergenerational climate of organizations and provide practical implications for HR management.

Introduction: Currently, F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography scans (FDG-PET) has been investigated in soft tissue tumor especially for tumor detection and noninvasive grading. However, the validity and the efficacy of FDG-PET are still unclear in clinical evaluation. The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of FDG-PET in compared to conventional diagnostic imaging studies currently used in the soft tissue tumor. Methods: Between March 2001 and March 2002, 29 patients (sixteen males, thirteen females, mean age, 47 years; a range from 4 to 73) diagnosed with soft tissue tumor were evaluated by both conventional diagnostic imaging and FDG-PET. Valid reference test of the local lesion was the histopathologic diagnosis, which was measured in all patients. The suspecting metastasis in the imaging studies was validated by pathology or follow up imaging for at least 6 months. Each imaging diagnosis was made independently. The accuracy of each diagnostic method was evaluated. The incremental cost accuracy ratio was determined in each diagnostic method. Results: For detection of local lesion, sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy for MRI and FDGPET scans were 91%, 57%, 83% and 95%, 43%, 83% respectively. For detection of distant lesion, sensitivity, specificity, accuracy for conventional diagnostic methods and FDG-PET scans were 77%, 89%, 87% and 92%, 94%, 93% respectively. The incremental cost accuracy ratio (ICAR) of FDG-PET for detection of distant lesion was 145,000won/%. According to ICAR for each tumor grade, PET strategy is most cost-effective at high grade tumors. Conclusions: For detection of local lesion such as recurrence or remnant tumor, FDG-PET scan was not more accurate than MRI. However, It was more accurate for detection of metastatic lesion than conventional methods. For detection of high grade tumor, PET was most costeffective than for detection of lower grade tumor.

The FEMA P695 document proposed a methodology to evaluate the collapse safety of a structure and the validity of the seismic design coefficients. In this study, the seismic performance of six- and twelve-story staggered wall structures with a middle corridor was evaluated based on the FEMA P695 procedure. The analysis results of the prototype structures were compared with those of the structures with an increased coupling beam depth or an increased re-bar ratio of the coupling beams in order to investigate the effect of retrofit. The adjusted collapse margin ratios (ACMR) of the model structures obtained from incremental dynamic analyses turned out to be larger than the specified limit states of an ACMR of 20%, which implies that the analysis model structures have enough strength against design level earthquakes. It was also observed that the increase in the re-bar ratio of the coupling beams between the staggered walls was more effective in increasing the ACMR than an increase in the depth of the coupling beams.

A finite element procedure which can trace plastic collapse behavior of plane frame structures under small and large deformation is presented. The member is assumed to be prismatic and straight, and has the rectangular or I cross section. For the elasto-plastic analysis, the concept of plastic hinge is introduced and the incremental displacement method is applied. The limit state condition of the plastic hinge is considered under the combined condition of a bending moment and an axial force. Numerical examples are presented in order to demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed procedure.

This paper is proposed new fuzzy controller for high performance of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive. New fuzzy controller take out appropriate amounts of accumulated control input according to fuzzily described situations in addition to the incremental control input calculated by conventional direct fuzzy controller The structures of the proposed controller is motivated by the problems of direct fuzzy controller. The direct controller generally give inevitable overshoot when one tries to reduce rise time of response especially when a system of order higher than one is under consideration. The undesirable characteristics of the direct fuzzy controller are caused by integrating operation of the controller, even though the Integrator itself is introduced to overcome steady state error in response. Proposed controller fuzzily clear out integrated quantities acrording to situation. This paper attempts to provide a thorough comparative insight into the behavior of IPMSM drive with direct and new fuzzy speed controller. The validity of new fuzzy speed controller is confirmed by response results for IPMSM drive system.
In this study, a numerical method for the material nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete shell structures including the time dependent effects due to creep and shrinkage is developed. Degenerate shell elements with the layered approach are used. The perfect or strain hardening plasticity model in compression and the linearly elastic model in tension until cracking for concrete are employed. The reinforcing bars are considered as a steel layer of equivalent thickness. Each :steel layer has an uniaxial behaviour resisting only the axial force in the bar direction. A bilinear idealization is adopted to model elasto-plastic stress-strain relationships. For the nonlinear anaysis, incremental load method combined with unbalanced load iterations for each load increment is used. To include time dependent effects of concrete, time domain is divided into several time steps which may have different length. Some numerical examples are presented to study the validity and applicability of the present method. The results are compared with experimental and numerical results obtained by other investigator.
