국내 틸팅열차 도입을 위한 신호시스템 운영방안 연구 (The signal system operation plan research for a Tilting train introduction)

  • Since 2003, the domestic ground signalling system of the Kyeongbu and Honam lines has been steadily improving with the introduction of the ATP system and application of the system to the train is actively being pursued for 2009 target. Therefore, new ground signalling systems are being installed to the trains and track conditions to control the train speed to a maximum of either 80km/h, 120km/h, 150km/h, or 160km/h. As well, considering safe breaking distance, block signalling has been installed and also the change over times of the track switching device has been adjusted according to the train speed. Since the new Tilting trains will be running faster than present trains, at speeds over 180 km/h, we anticipate that there will be problems with present signalling facilities. Therefore this paper attempts to examine the various problems with the interface between the ATP signalling system and the new Tilting trains and also it will propose the most effective operating plan based upon case studies of successful foreign operations.

경기도권 철도체계의 문제점과 개선방안 - 노선축, 영업, 급행화를 중심으로 (Improving Methods of Metropolitan Railways in Gyeonggi-do - Focusing on Route, Operation and Express Service)

  • Although Gyeonggi-do is the core area which has a quarter of the population of Korea, it has poor railway network and then it have got serious traffic problem. So in this paper, it is introduced the improving methods of railways on Gyeonggi-do. In first, it was showed a fast and effective railway route implementation according to the characteristics with the similar population but the 17 times bigger area than that of Seoul. And it was explained multipurpose using method of the railways of Gyeonggi-do whit subway, commuter, express and high speed train etc. Finally unlike Seoul subway focusing on approachability, it was proposed 'express train paradigm' focusing on implementing the high movability which railways of Gyeonggi-do must have. So with 'Bundang-line' metropolitan railway, the case study in applying to southern metropolitan area with those suggestion was showed.

고속철도 운전직무의 휴먼에러 감축방안을 위한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on method to Reduce of Human Error of High-Speed Train Drivers)

  • This study tried to propose plan to prevent human error of railroad driver among human error of railroad worker which takes great share in railroad accident. For this, in order to maintain correlation between the accident actually occurred after the opening of high-speed railroad and experience of accident that did not happened, survey on respondent was analyzed by conducting survey on KTX captain who is working in driving work of high-speed railroad, and instruction management team manager who manages KTX captain and captain. This thesis classified the factors by human factor, job factor, environment factor, organization factor, and established human error management model by comparing and analyzing how each factors have spatial interrelations with a railroad accident. The purpose of this study is to contribute to make safe railroad, and reliable railroad by preventing human error accident by minimizing human error of high-speed railroad drivers, and improving driving workers to cope accurately and fast with irregularities through various institutional improvement, improvement of driving facilities, improvement of operating room environment, and improvement of education system.

KTX 관광 상품 개발을 통한 수익 증대 방안 (A plan to increase revenue through a travel product development of KTX)

  • Since the beginning of civilization, people live in the times that changes rapidly everyday. Above all things, In April, 2004 the first opening of KTX(high-speed railway) that has been considered as the greatest revolutionary project shrinks the whole nation into a quarter of a day life zone and has repeated the constant change and development. But now, In comparison with ordinary train system KTX fails to notice revenue for travel-product and other many factors of increased revenue. This study introduces and analyzes the present condition of high-speed railway and indicate 'the plan to increase revenue' and 'the effect of creating revenue' through a travel-product on the basis of the travel-products connected with KTX. This study focuses on 'KTX memory train travel' and propose revenue and advertisement-effect created from targeting the middle-aged market. In addition, For improving KORAIL's image and approaching the customer more and more friendly, it grasp diverse events and advertisement plans.

  • In this paper, an engineering database management system(EDMS) has been developed to support the system engineering for design of the high speed titling train to be put into the conventional lines. The developed system can be operated on client-server or web circumstances. To accomplish the concurrent engineering in design of the rolling stocks, this system has been fully equipped with a powerful viewer and a postprocessor for 3D CAD data or FE results. The system was tested using the engineering data produced during carrying out the G7 project to design KHST(Korean High Speed Train) in a crashworthy viewpoint. Through this example, it is shown that the system should be powerfully applied to improving the performance of the system engineering.

An experimental study on constructing MR secondary suspension for high-speed trains to improve lateral ride comfort

  • This paper presents an experimental study on constructing a tunable secondary suspension for high-speed trains using magneto-rheological fluid dampers (referred to as MR dampers hereafter), in the interest of improving lateral ride comfort. Two types of MR dampers (type-A and type-B) with different control ranges are designed and fabricated. The developed dampers are incorporated into a secondary suspension of a full-scale high-speed train carriage for rolling-vibration tests. The integrated rail vehicle runs at a series of speeds from 40 to 380 km/h and with different current inputs to the MR dampers. The dynamic performance of the two suspension systems and the ride comfort rating of the rail vehicle are evaluated using the accelerations measured during the tests. In this way, the effectiveness of the developed MR dampers for attenuating vibration is assessed. The type-A MR dampers function like a stiffness component, rather than an energy dissipative device, during the tests with different running speeds. While, the type-B MR dampers exhibit significant damping and high current input to the dampers may adversely affect the ride comfort. As part of an ongoing investigation on devising an effective MR secondary suspension for lateral vibration suppression, this preliminary study provides an insight into dynamic behavior of high-speed train secondary suspensions and unique full-scale experimental data for optimal design of MR dampers suitable for high-speed rail applications.

모델 충실도 향상을 통한 도시철도 열차자동운전제어 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of Metro Train ATO Simulator by improving Train Model Fidelity)

  • 열차제어시스템의 기능 및 성능 검증을 위해 실제 열차 시험의 전 단계로 시뮬레이터를 이용하는데 이 경우 시뮬레이션 결과가 실제 시험과 얼마나 부합하는 지가 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 열차제어시스템 중 열차자동운전을 담당하는 ATO용 시뮬레이터에 대한 내용을 기술한다. ATO 관점에서 시뮬레이터와의 연결이 실제 열차와의 연결과 동일하도록 시뮬레이터에 실제 열차와 동일한 인터페이스를 구현하여 ATO와 통신하도록 하였다. 또한 시험으로 열차의 특성을 파악하여 열차 모델에 적용함으로써 열차 가감속 명령에 대한 시뮬레이션 상 열차의 반응이 실제와 유사하게 나타나도록 하였다. 시뮬레이션으로 수행한 정차 제어 시험 결과와 실제 본선 시운전 시험 결과를 보임으로써 본 연구에서 도출한 모델의 충실성과 시뮬레이터의 우수성을 보인다.

철도건널목 인근 신호교차로에서의 우선신호 전략 비교분석(열차속도를 중심으로) (Study of Effectiveness of Signal Preemption Strategy Depending on Train Speed at Intersections Near Highway-Railroad Grade Crossings)

  • 철도건널목 인근 신호교차로에서 우선신호의 주목적은 열차가 철도건널목에 도착하기 전에 철도건널목 위의 대기차량을 가능한 신속하게 소거시켜 열차와 철도건널목위의 차량 간의 충돌을 미연에 방지시키는 것이기 때문에, 신호교차로에서의 보행자의 안전이나 차량의 지체시간에 악영향을 미치는 것에는 그다지 관심을 기울이지 않았다. 그로인해, 현재의 우선신호 방법론은 철도건널목 인근 신호교차로에서의 보행자 안전과 교차로의 효율적인 운영에 있어서 심각한 문제를 내재하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 배경 하에 최근 기존의 표준 우선신호의 문제점을 보완한 전위 우선신호 전략(Transition Preemption Strategy, TPS)이 개발되었는데, 이는 표준 우선신호를 개선한 신호 운영전략으로 현재 철도건널목의 안전수준을 유지하는 동시에 인근 신호교차로의 안전성을 향상시킨 것이다. 하지만, 이 또한 교차로의 효율적인 운영측면은 고려하지 않았고, 또한 열차 도착예측치의 오차를 고려하지 않아 여전히 문제점을 내포하고 있었다. 이 에, TPS의 문제점을 보완하여 개선된 전위 우선신호 전략(Improved Transition Preemption Strategy, ITPS)이 개발되었고, 이는 TPS를 개선한 신호 운영전략으로 현재 철도건널목의 안전수준을 유지하는 동시에 인근 신호교차로의 안전과 효율성을 향상시킨 것이다. ITPS가 철도건널목 인근 신호교차로의 안전과 효율을 개선하는 효과는 있었지만, 이 전략은 차량 및 보행자 교통량, 열차 도착시간 예측오차, 열차속도 등 여러 가지의 요인에 의해 여전히 영향을 받는다. 그러므로 ITPS를 현장에서 실현하기 위해서는 이런 요소들의 영향을 이해하는 것이 필수적이라 할 수 있는데, 본 연구에서는 이 중에서 VISSIM 시뮬레이션 모델을 이용하여 열차속도의 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 분석 결과, 표준 운선신호나 TPS로 우선신호를 운영할 경우 열차의 속도가 신호교차로의 안전에 영향을 줄 수 있으나, ITPS의 경우에는 교차로 안전상의 문제가 발생하지 않았고, 열차의 속도가 높아질수록 교차로의 지체는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

Handover based on Maximum Cell Residence Time and Adaptive TTT for LTE-R High-Speed Railways

  • With the development of high-speed railway technologies, train velocities can now reach speeds up to 350 km/h, and higher in the future. In high-speed railway systems (HSRs), loss of communication can result in serious accidents, especially when the train is controlled through wireless communications. For to this reason, operators of Long Term Evolution for Railway (LTE-R) communication systems install eNodeBs (eNBs) with high density to achieve highly reliable communications. However, densely located eNBs can result in unnecessary frequent handovers (HOs) resulting in instability because, during every HO process, there is a period of time in which the communication link is disconnected. To solve this problem, in this paper, an HO scheme based on the maximum cell residence time (CRT) and adaptive time to trigger (aTTT), which are collectively called CaT, is proposed to reduce unnecessary HOs (using CRT estimations) and decrease HO failures by improving the handover command transmission point (HCTP) in LTE-R HSR communications.

고속철도의 안전운행을 위한 강우시 열차운전규제기준의 제안 (A Development of Rail-Transport Operation Control for High-Speed Railway under Rainfall)

  • 건설중인 경부고속철도에서는 열차의 운행안전을 확보하기 위하여 다양한 안정시스템을 채택하고 있어 예기치 못한 재해발생으로 인한 인적 물적 피해의 최소화에 만전을 기하고 있으나, 국외규정이 도입되는 과정에서 국내 선로, 기후, 지형 지질학적 특성을 반영한 국내규정으로는 정립되어 있지 않은 현실이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 강우시 고속철도의 안전한 운행을 위해 현재 설정되어 운용 예정인 강우시 운전규제를 위한 경계우량의 문제점을 파악하고 보완함으로써 보다 합리적인 경계우량의 재설정이 가능하였다. 또한, 이를 이용하여 CTC 등의 중앙통제기구에서 정상운행 경계발령 열차속도규제 운전정지의 4단계로 강우상황에 따라 열차의 안전을 명확하게 확보할 수 있을 것이며, 자연재해 발생 최소화에 기여할 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.
