  • LNG 선박에서 발생하는 슬로싱 충격하중은 다상유동 및 기체의 압축효과에 따라 CCS에서 발생하는 압력과 구조응답에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 슬로싱 운동 시 LNG의 유동에 의해 발생하는 슬로싱 충격을 시뮬레이션하기 위해서 다상유동을 적용한 수치해석 모델을 제시하였으며, 그 결과를 실험과 비교하여 타당성을 검토하였다. 또한 효율적인 구조 응답 계산을 위해 분사모델을 이용한 유체구조 연성해석 방법에 대해서 검토하고 멤브레인형 Mark III 화물창의 강도평가에 적용하여 LNG 화물창의 강도평가를 위한 가능성을 검토하였다.

  • The air flow and heat transfer characteristics of an air jet impinging on a pedestal heat source has been investigated numerically to examine the effects of geometric parameters such as nozzle-to-pedestal spacing, nozzle diameter and pedestal size. Also, the parameters of Reynolds number, air jet power, supplied heat and thermal conductivity of pedestal have been studied to reveal how these affect the average Nusselt number. Hence, a two-dimensional turbulent model has been developed and adopted to simulate the fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena numerically. The results obtained from the model show that the nozzle-to-pedestal spacing, relative size of nozzle to pedestal and Reynolds number of air jet have a significant influence on the cooling characteristics of heated pedestal. Furthermore, some useful guidelines could be given to the application of cooling the heated pedestal.

  • In the case of high-energy line breaks in nuclear power plants, supersonic steam jet is formed due to the rapid depressurization. The steam jet can cause impingement load on the adjacent structures, piping systems and components. In order to secure the design integrity of the nuclear power plant, it is necessary to evaluate the load characteristics of the steam jet generated by high-energy pipe rupture. In the design process of nuclear power plant, jet impingement load evaluation was usually performed based on ANSI/ANS 58.2. However, U.S. NRC recently pointed out that ANSI/ANS 58.2 oversimplifies the jet behavior and that some assumptions are non-conservative. In addition, it is recommended that dynamic analysis techniques should be applied to consider transient load characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to establish an evaluation methodology that can analyze the dynamic load characteristics of steam jet ejected when high energy pipe breaks. This research group has developed and validated the CFD analysis methodology to evaluate the transient behavior of supersonic impinging jet in the previous study. In this study, numerical study on the transient load characteristics of supersonic steam jet impingement was carried out and amplitude and frequency analysis of transient jet load was performed.

원형블록이 있는 벽면충돌제트 열전달 해석 (Prediction of Jet Impingement Heat Transfer on a Cylindrical Pedestal)

  • A numerical simulation is performed for the cooling heat transfer of a heated cylindrical pedestal by an axisymmetric jet impingement. Based on the k- $\varepsilon$- f$\sub$${\mu}$/ model of Park et at., the linear and nonlinear stress-strain relations are extended. The Reynolds number based on the jet diameter(D) is fixed at Re$\sub$D/ = 23000. The local heat transfer coefficients are compared with available experimental data. The predictions by k- $\varepsilon$-f$\sub$${\mu}$/ model are in good agreement with the experiments, whereas the standard 7- f model does not properly resolve the flow structures.

  • In the present paper, flow and heat transfer characteristics of confined impinging slot jets have been numerically investigated using a SIMPLE-based segregated SUPG finite element method. For laminar jets, it is shown that the skin friction coefficient obtained from the present SUPG formulation approaches the grid-independent Galerkin solution inducing negligible false diffusion in the flow field when a moderate number of grid points are used. For turbulent jets, the k-$\omega$turbulence model is adopted. The streamwise mean velocity and the heat transfer coefficient respectively agree very well with existing experimental data within limited ranges of parameters.

  • 기존의 이론적 연구와 실험적 연구를 바탕으로 충돌 제트의 수치 모델을 개발하였다. 본 모델은 like-doublet 충돌제트로부터 생성되는 액적의 모든 특성을 액막이 분열되는 시점에서 결정한다. 액적 특성을 결정하기 위해 이론적 연구로부터 얻어진 액막 두께, 액주의 직경, 액적 크기와 실험적 연구로부터 얻어진 액막/액적 속도, 액막 분열 거리, 분열 주파수, 액적 질량 유량 분포를 이용하였다. 액적의 질량 유량 분포는 Laplace 분포로부터 표준 편차를 이용하여 모사하였다. 또한 실험 결과를 이용하여 액막 분열 거리, 분열 주기, 표준 편차에 대한 경험식을 유도하였다. 개발된 모델은 정성적인 분무 패턴뿐만 아니라 정량적인 SMD 및 질량 유량 분포에서 실험 결과와 잘 일치한다.

  • TNumerical simulations of the supersonic impinging jet flows are carried out using the 3D Navier-Stokes code. This paper is focuses on the unsteady flow features associated with stagnation bubbles and other oscillatory behavior. The 3D code was validated by reproducing the results of Lamont's experiments. Computation is carried out for the cases in which the unsteadiness of the plate shock has been observed experimentally. The computational results confirm the oscillatory feature in several kHz. Unsteady calculation with algebraic turbulence model is also performed. It is found that the laminar and turbulent results have some discrepancy in the transient period. However, both of them reveal the oscillatory behavior with similar frequency.

초임계 탄화수소계열 혼합유체의 이중 충돌 제트 분무 가시화 (Visualization of Doublet Impinging Jet Spray in Supercritical Mixed Hydrocarbon Fluid)

  • 대체모델을 사용한 탄화수소계열 혼합유체를 아임계 및 초임계 상태에서 이중 충돌 분무를 통해 분무 메커니즘을 가시화하여 분석하였다. 임계압력과 온도가 다른 데칸과 메틸사이클로헥산을 대체모델로 선정하였다. 챔버 내부에 이중 충돌 인젝터를 설치하여 아임계 및 초임계 상태에서 고속카메라를 통해 분무를 가시화하였다. 혼합유체의 분사 및 챔버 환산압력은 Pr(P/Pc)=1로 유사하게 유지하였으며 Tr(T/Tc)은 0.48에서 1.02까지 증가시켰다. Tr이 증가할수록 혼합유체의 물성치가 각각의 임계점에 도달하여 분무각은 증가하고 시트분열길이는 감소하였다. 또한 혼합 유체가 모두 근임계점에 도달하였을 때 이중 충돌 분열 메커니즘에서 벗어나 밀도 구배의 변화가 크게 관측됨을 보였다.

  • A numerical study has been carried out to investigate the flow and heat transfer from an aluminum foam heat sink in a confined channel. A uniform heat flux is given at the bottom of the aluminum foam heat sink, which is horizontally placed on the heated surface. The channel walls are assumed to be adiabatic. Cold air is supplied from the top opening of the channel and exhausted to the channel outlet. Comprehensive numerical solutions are acquired to the governing Wavier-Stokes and energy equations, using the Brinkman-Forchheimer extended Darcy model and the local thermal non-equilibrium model f3r the region of porous media. Details of flow and thermal fields are examined over wide ranges of the principal parameters; i.e., the Reynolds number Re, the height of heat sink h/H, porosity $\varepsilon$and pore diameter ratio $R_{H}$.

Numerical Simulation of Edgetone Phenomenon in Flow of a Jet-edge System Using Lattice Boltzmann Model

  • An edgetone is the discrete tone or narrow-band sound produced by an oscillating free shear layer, impinging on a rigid surface. In this paper, 2-dimensional edgetone to predict the frequency characteristics of the discrete oscillations of a jet-edge feedback cycle is presented using lattice Boltmznan model with 21 bits, which is introduced a flexible specific heat ratio y to simulate diatomic gases like air. The blown jet is given a parabolic inflow profile for the velocity, and the edges consist of wedges with angle 20 degree (for symmetric wedge) and 23 degree (for inclined wedge), respectively. At a stand-off distance w, the edge is inserted along the centerline of the jet, and a sinuous instability wave with real frequency is assumed to be created in the vicinity of the nozzle exit and to propagate towards the downward. Present results presented have shown in capturing small pressure fluctuating resulting from periodic oscillation of the jet around the edge. The pressure fluctuations propagate with the speed of sound. Their interaction with the wedge produces an irrotational feedback field which, near the nozzle exit, is a periodic transverse flow producing the singularities at the nozzle lips. It is found that, as the numerical example, satisfactory simulation results on the edgetone can be obtained for the complex flow-edge interaction mechanism, demonstrating the capability of the lattice Boltzmann model with flexible specific heat ratio to predict flow-induced noises in the ventilating systems of ship.
