  • This study examined how preschool children's age and mothers' modes of verbal control affect children's lying. A sample of 108 preschool children aged from 3 to 6 participated in a lying experiment. Their mothers answered questionnaires regarding the mothers' modes of verbal control. Preschool children's lying was measured by the Guessing Game Experiment developed by Talwar and Lee(2002). Mothers' modes of verbal control were measured by Jung's(2005) scale for preschool children. To analyze the data, crosstabs and logistic regression analyses were conducted. The results of the experiment showed that three-year-old children are able to lie intentionally. The older preschool children lied more than the younger ones. Mothers' imperative and personal modes of verbal control were positively related to preschool children's lying. The most significant variable on preschool children's lying was mother's imperative modes of verbal control, followed by personal modes of verbal control, which emphasizes the crucial influence of parenting on preschool children's lying.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of Parent Effectiveness Training (P. E. T.) on (1) parental awareness and verbal control patterns of mothers and (2) the relationship between parental awareness and verbal control patterns of mothers. The subjects were 43 mothers whose children were in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades in one of two elementary schools in the City of Seoul. Mothers who participated in a P. E. T. class were assigned either to an experimental or a control group. Mothers in the experimental group received P. E. T. during the study; those in the control group received it after the study. Instruments were the Parental Awareness Interview (Newberger, 1980) and the revised Verbal Control Patters (Gumperz, 1973) for mothers. The data were analyzed by t-tests and Pearson's correlations. The results showed that (1) P. E. T. influenced parental awareness of mothers, and this change was maintained one month after completion of the P. E. T. class. (2) Mothers' verbal control patterns were changed by P. E. T. Specifically, mother' imperative and positional verbal control patterns decreased while personal verbal control patterns increased after P. E. T. (3) P. E. T. was negativeiy related to mother's imperative and positional verbal control patterns but positively related to personal verbal control patterns.

  • In order to increase the productivity of software, the research to reduce the total cost in software development environments is working, Considerable time is wasted waiting for a changed program in program development, however smell the change, to be edited and compiled and executed. In case of partial change, we need incremental interpreter for reexecuting the changed parts and its affected parts, In this paper, we implement the incremental interpreter by using analyzing dynamic semantics at execution time, We define a new IMPLO(IMPerative Language with Object) language using EBNF(Extended Backus Naur Form) notation and then, design and implement the incremental interpreter of this language by using action equations to describe the dynamic semantics.

  • A control flow graph(CFG) is an essential data structure for program analyses based on graph theory or control-/data- flow analyses. Esterel is an imperative synchronous language and its synchronous parallelism makes it difficult to construct a CFG of an Esterel program. In this work, we present a method to construct over-approximated CFGs for Esterel. Our method is very intuitive and generated CFGs include not only exposed paths but also invisible ones. Though the CFGs may contain some inexecutable paths due to complex combinations of parallelism and exception handling, they are very useful for other program analyses.

  • As the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to permeate every facet of modern life, the imperative to secure this vast and dynamic frontier becomes increasingly paramount. This presents a comprehensive exploration of the challenges and opportunities inherent in safeguarding the interconnected web of IoT devices. The research critically examines the limitations of current cybersecurity measures through an extensive review of diverse topics, including IoT network performance, smart grid security, and the escalating cyber threats against critical infrastructures. A meticulous analysis of research findings underscores the need for enhanced infrastructure and ongoing research to fortify the cybersecurity mechanisms surrounding IoT objects. We underline the imperative of relentless research efforts to parry the advancing threats and leverage the promise of nascent technologies. Our findings affirm the pivotal influence of robust cybersecurity measures in crafting a resiliently connected ecosystem. The paper underscores the importance of ongoing research to address evolving threats and harness the potential of emerging technologies, reaffirming the central role of cybersecurity in shaping a secure interconnected world. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of cybersecurity on the IoT frontier. It unveils a complex landscape of challenges, ranging from network performance intricacies to the security concerns of critical infrastructures.

  • The main purpose of this dissertation is a introductive proposal to reconstruct confucian moral principles. The most classical question in moral principles is : what is the good. In order to reconstruct confucian moral principles, this dissertation begin with question of what is the good in confucian moral principles. Confucianism believe in reality of the human good mind and good nature. Confucian the human good mind and good nature is comprised of benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom. Benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom(四德) is the origin of morality. Confucian's moral principles of human relationship is none other than conscientiousness and altruism. Conscientiousness is a principle of self-cultivation and self-revelation. As to altruism, confucious said, "the man of perfect virtue, wishing to be established himself", or "do not impose on others what you do not desire others to impose upon you." Altruism is rectified as a principle of reciprocity methodology of the making of whole kingdom peaceful in The Great Learning. Confucian golden rule(conscientiousness and altruism is equal to Kantian categorical imperative in The Fundamental principles of Metaphysics of Ethics. : Act only on that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law ... etc. Kant's three principles of moral philosophy(Categorical Imperatives) imply that the idea of universality, freedom, and the kingdom of ends. We contrast confucian moral principles with Kant's three principles of Categorical Imperatives. In conclusion, confucian moral principles implicate Kant's principle of universalizability and impartiality.

  • Home economics education professional knowledge consists of empirical interpretive critical science component. Thus it is imperative that the alternative research perspectives be used to gain certain knowledge for the profession of home economics education. In human inquiry and education there is a growing concern that the dominant research paradigm positivist natural science model is inadequate to address the phenomena constructed by persons. However, Home economics education has not examined and almost utilized alternative research perspectives. This review will probe research logic and resecrach methodology of qualitative inquiry within home economics education and highlight the shift from positivism to post-positivism.

  • Recently, sectionalizing switches have been coming to be operated by remote control through the distribution SCADA system. However, the problem of determining the optimal switching sequence is a combinatorial optimization problem, and is quite difficult to solve, Hence, it is imperative to develop practically applicable solution algorithms create a new arbitral distribution system configuration from an initial configuration, and some of these algorithms do not show a load transfer sequence to reach the objective system.

  • Fly ash is the most common artificial pozzolan, which is a material precipitated electrostatically from the exhaust gases of coal-fired power stations. Fly ash can be used as the supplementary material as well as the material for high performance concrete and hence, the development of high-volume fly ash concrete is imperative. In this study, the characteristics of drying shrinkage of high volume fly ash concrete is investigated. It is found from test results that as the replaced amount of fly ash in concrete is increased, drying shrinkage of concrete is reduced.

  • The prismatic luminaire named as a dome pendent is considered to save energy and improve visibility. This luminaire is using prismatic rome, and is designed to be used in commercial and industrial high-bay applications where quality light levels and energy savings are imperative. Although this kind of luminaire needs an accurate optic calculation process, the lumanires are manufactured without such a process. Therefore the purpose of this study is to develop a numerical model to accurately predict luminous intensity distribution of luminaire with prism.
