Mobile phone carriers face challenges from three synergistic dimensions: Wireless, social, and mobile. Despite significant advances that have been made about social networks and human mobility, respectively, our knowledge about the interplay between two layers remains largely limited, partly due to the difficulty in obtaining large-scale datasets that could offer at the same time social and mobile information across a substantial population over an extended period of time. In this paper, we take advantage of a massive, longitudinal mobile phone dataset that consists of human mobility and social network information simultaneously, allowing us to explore the impact of human mobility patterns on the underlying social network. We find that human mobility plays an important role in shaping both local and global structural properties of social network. In contrast to the lack of scale in social networks and human movements, we discovered a characteristic distance in physical space between 10 and 20 km that impacts both local clustering and modular structure in social network. We also find a surprising distinction in trajectory overlap that segments social ties into two categories. Our results are of fundamental relevance to quantitative studies of human behavior, and could serve as the basis of anchoring potential theoretical models of human behavior and building and developing new applications using social and mobile technologies.
Purpose: The primary aim of this study is to investigate the current issues in the leisure sports tourism and propose viable solutions based on a comprehensive review of existing literature. The specific objectives are to: (1) Identify the key challenges facing the leisure sports tourism industry. (2) Analyze the impact of these challenges on the industry's growth and sustainability. (3) Review and synthesize existing research to propose evidence-based solutions. Research design, data and methodology: The preliminary search yielded an extensive list of articles. These articles underwent a rigorous screening process based on their titles and abstracts. The inclusion criteria were: (1) studies focused specifically on the leisure sports tourism industry, (2) empirical research providing data on the identified issues, and (3) peer-reviewed journal articles. Results: The leisure sports tourism industry faces several pressing issues requiring effective solutions to ensure sustainability and growth. This section provides four critical solutions addressing the identified challenges: environmental sustainability, infrastructure and facility management, seasonality and economic impact, and health and safety concerns. Conclusions: The findings highlight several actionable solutions to the current issues faced by the leisure sports tourism industry. This industry can achieve a more stable and sustainable growth trajectory by addressing environmental sustainability, infrastructure and facility management, seasonality, and health and safety concerns.

Load representation has a significant impact on power system analysis and control results. In this paper, composite load models are developed based on on-line measurement data from a practical power system. Three types of static-dynamic load models are derived: general ZIP-induction motor model, Exponential-induction motor model and Z-induction motor model. For the dynamic induction motor model, two different third-order induction motor models are studied. The performances in modeling real and reactive power behaviors by composite load models are compared with other dynamic load models in terms of relative mismatch error. In addition, numerical consideration of ill-conditioned parameters is addressed based on trajectory sensitivity. Numerical studies indicate that the developed composite load models can accurately capture the dynamic behaviors of loads during disturbance.
Several interesting features in trajectory were observed in the direct dynamics study of formaldehyde dissociation above radical dissociation limit. The hydrogen atom deliberately placed on the radical dissociation path can turn around at some distance from C without completion of dissociation and return to HCO moiety, colliding with it just as in a radical-radical recombination and producing a highly energized molecule. Excursion of a hydrogen atom to a distance of 6-8 bohrs and migration of a hydrogen atom back and forth between C and O are two of the most interesting features exhibited by the energized molecule. A series of excursions is seen to lead to a different kind of dissociation resembling roaming-like dissociation characterized by high vibrational excitation of $H_2$ fragment. It is suggested that excursion occurs due to involvement of two different force field systems that exhibit discontinuity in 6-8 bohrs from HCO moiety. We argue that roaming is a non-zero impact parameter version of the excursion.

The simulation of the ballistic trajectory of penetrator into the spaced multi-layer RC targets is very important to predict the hitting condition in subsequent target. Because of perturbation by lateral load of penetrator caused by asymmetric hitting position between penetrator and steel bar reinforcement, penetrator rotates and deviates from the straight path. Therefore, penetration capability of penetrator is decreased in the subsequent targets. This paper presents the result of the penetration of steel-bar-reinforced concrete target by using the explicit finite element code LS-DYNA. A series of computations is performed and compared to experimental data and the computed results are in good agreement with the experimental results over a wide range of velocities. And then we conduct the simulation according to various RC target hitting condition and impact velocities.
Windborne debris is a major cause of structural damage during severe windstorms and hurricanes owing to its direct impact on building envelopes as well as to the 'chain reaction' failure mechanism it induces by interacting with wind pressure damage. Estimation of debris risk is an important component in evaluating wind damage risk to residential developments. A debris risk model developed by the authors enables one to analytically aggregate damage threats to a building from different types of debris originating from neighboring buildings. This model is extended herein to a general debris risk analysis methodology that is then incorporated into a vulnerability model accounting for the temporal evolution of the interaction between pressure damage and debris damage during storm passage. The current paper (Part I) introduces the debris risk analysis methodology, establishing the mathematical modeling framework. Stochastic models are proposed to estimate the probability distributions of debris trajectory parameters used in the method. It is shown that model statistics can be estimated from available information from wind-tunnel experiments and post-damage surveys. The incorporation of the methodology into vulnerability modeling is described in Part II.
In this paper, control of a planar two-link structurally flexible robotic manipulator executing unconstrained and constrained maneuvers is considered. The dynamic model, which is obtained by using the extended Hamilton's principle and the Galerkin criterion, includes the impact force generated during the transition from unconstrained to constrained segment of the robotic task. A method is presented to obtain the linearized equations of motion in Cartesian space for use in designing the control system. The linear quadratic Gaussian with loop transfer recovery (LQG/LTR) design methodology is exploited to design a robust feedback control system that can handle modeling errors and sensor noise, and operate on Cartesian space trajectory errors. The LQG/LTR compensator together with a feedforward loop is used to control the flexible manipulator. Simulated results are presented for a numerical example.
The high-pressurized spray nozzle is used f3r special washing and cutting with strong impact force. The performance of this nozzle, which focused on spray penetration and radial dispersion, was mainly investigated to maximize the momentum and minimize the flow loss. Hence, our experimental research was conducted by changing the aspect ratio ranging from 0 to 3 with nozzle outlet of 1.1. The spray trajectory far high-pressurized water was experimentally investigated using PDPA diagnostics, which was available at spray downstream region. As the spray at upstream near the nozzle exit did not show the improved disintegration. The results showed empirical correlation with regard to non-dimensional axial velocity distribution, spray penetration, and radial spreading rate with photographic visualization.

This research deals with the nonlinearities of rocking vibration associated with impact and sliding on the rocking behavior of rigid block under two dimensional sinusoidal excitation which has different frequencies in two excitation direction. The varied excitation direction influences not only the rocking response but also the sliding motion and the rocking response shape. Chaotic responses are observed in wider excitation amplitude region, when the frequencies in each excitation direction are different. The complex behavior of chaotic response, in the phase space, is related with the trajectory of base excitation and sliding motion.
"The FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System" is a comprehensive overhaul of U.S National Airspace System to make air travel more convenient and dependable, while ensuring the flight is as safe, secure and hassle-free as possible. At its most basic level, NextGen represents an evolution from a ground-based system of air traffic control to a satellite-based system of air traffic management. This evolution is vital to meeting future demand, and to avoiding gridlock in the sky and at U.S airports. NextGen will open worldwide's skies to continued growth and increased safety while reducing aviation's environmental impact.
