  • Nonlinear loads with harmonics exist in an actual power system where harmonic currents make voltage distortion. The sum of reactive power measured at individual load is different from the measured reactive power at a bus in a power system with linear and non-linear loads. In this study, ANN(artificial neural network) load modeling technique with consideration of harmonics is introduced for more accurate component load modeling and an impact coefficient is proposed for aggregation of component loads. Results of this research show more accurate load modeling method. Since precise data for power system analysis can be acquired, the proposed method will be used for power system planning and maintenance.

  • The present study was undertaken to investigate the dry wear process and wear mechanism of the alumina ceramics in the purity variation which are used for the mechanical seal, roll, liner and dies. The wear test was carried out under different experimental condition using the wear testing device and in which the annular surface rubbed on dry sliding condition various sliding speed, contact pressure and sliding distance. In case of alumina purity 95%, there was speed range which wear loss increased rapidly owing to enlargement of heat impact force and temperature rise of wear surface. According as the alumina purity increased, wear loss decreased but alumina purity 85% with much void and defect had the most wear loss than any other alumina purity. The friction coefficient of sliding initial stage of wear curves has a large value but according to increase of sliding distance, it decreased owing to drop of the shear strength of wear surfaces.

  • A three dimensional multibody modeling of a launcher system was developed and dynamic characteristics of the system was carried out. All the components were modeled as rigid bodies, All the components of system, ie; chassis, turret, cage and suspension parts, are modeled as rigid. The force interaction between the ground and tire was modeled as a point contact model. The factors were selected as cause and effect diagram of the MINITAB. To see effect of the stiffness, damping, mass at the launcher system, several cases of suspension parameters were compared and optimal values were selected. The stiffness and the damping coefficient were selected as design variables to minimize the required time for the next fire. The dynamic simulation was carried out using the ADAMS, and the MINITAB was employed for data analysis.

  • Cold gas dynamic spray is a relatively new coating process by which coatings can be produced without significant heating during the process. Cold-spray uses supersonic gas flow to carry metallic powders to the substrate. Its low process temperature can minimize thermal stress and also reduce the deformation of the substrate. Most researches on cold-spray have focused on micro scale coating, but in this study macro scale deposition was conducted. Properties of aluminum layer by cold-spray deposition such as coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), modulus of elasticity. hardness, and electric conductivity were measured. The results showed that properties of aluminum layer by cold-spray deposition were different from properties of pure aluminum and aluminum alloy.

  • The cutting mechanism of ultrasonic vibration machining is characterized as two phases, that is an impact at the cutting edge and a reduction of cutting force due to non-contact interval between tool and workpiece. In this paper, in order to identfy cutting dynamics of a system with ultrasonically vibrated cutting tool, an ARMA modelling is performed on experimental cutting force signals which have a dominant effect on cutting dynamics. The aim of this study is, through Dynamic Data System methodology, to find the inherent characteristics of an ultrasonic vibration cutting process by considering natural frequencyand damping coefficient. Surface roughness and stability of cutting process under ultrasonic vibration are also considered

  • Microelectronic fabrication technology .is based on the use of lithsgraphy to create small linewidths and patterns that make up ULSI. In previous papers, we discussed the theoretically calculated values such as ion range, ion concentration, ion transmission coefficient and the defocused ion beam-induced characteristics in a-Se$_{75}$Ge$_{25}$. In this paper, the typical Monte Carlo (MC) simulation results and p개cedures for the focused ion beam lithography were presented. The interaction and scattering of ions with the resist depend on the beam energy, impact parameter arid resist parameters. For ion exposure simulations, the quantity of interest is the spatial distribution of energy deposited by ions in the resist due to interaction phenomena with resist ions.s.s.

  • The analysis of mud pumping which causes track irregularities during softening of present roadbed is needed in order to prepare countermeasure that is efficient and reasonable against the softening of railway roadbed. In this study, model tests were performed in order to evaluate property of the railway softening under the train loading, considering the wheel load and the impact coefficient due to the train passing velocity. The existence of the mud pumping, settlements of roadbed and vertical earth pressure were measured under the train loading.

  • A semi-empirical model to predict ship resistance in level ice based on Lindqvist's model is presented. This model assumes that contact between the ship and the ice is a case of symmetrical collision, and two contact cases are considered. Submersion force is calculated via Lindqvist's formula, and the crushing and breaking forces are determined by a concept of energy consideration during ship and ice impact. The effect of the contact coefficient is analyzed in the ice resistance prediction. To validate this model, the predicted results are compared with model test data of USCGC Healy and icebreaker Araon, and full-scale data of the icebreaker KV Svalbard. A relatively good agreement is achieved. As a result, the presented model is recommended for preliminary total resistance prediction in advance of the evaluation of the icebreaking performance of vessels.

  • Purpose: This study was a descriptive research to investigate the impact for middle aged women of health perception, self-efficacy, family support on Yangsaeng, a traditional Oriental way of promoting health. Method: Data were collected through questionnaires from 277 middle aged women. Collected data were analyzed using PASW Statistics 18. Analysis included descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in Yangsaeng according to average monthly household income. There was a significant positive correlation between Yangsaeng and self-efficacy, family support, and health perception. Health perception, family support, self-efficacy, and monthly income were found to be significant predictors (36%) of Yangsaeng. Conclusion: To promote Yangsaeng in middle aged women, nurses should focus on factors identified in this study when developing nursing interventions for health promotion.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop eco-friendly internal material of acrylic emulsion mortars using light-weight aggregate carrier which contains pyroligneous liquid. Four types of light-weight aggregates (vermiculite, perlite, charcoal, zeolite) that are widely used in building materials are selected and the properties such as adhesion, water absorption coefficient, antibiosis, crack and impact resistance are evaluated in accordance with KS F 4715. As a result, the properties of acrylic emulsion mortars using light-weight aggregate carrier are satisfied with KS requirements. The antibiosis is improved with increasing zeolite light-weight carrier content.
