  • This paper concerns on developing a multi-purpose test device for measuring mechanical properties of shoes. The device was modified from a commercial robot manipulator, with which impact, bending, and pronation tests were suggested to evaluate performances of shoes. From several experiments, the developed device could produce repetitive and consistent results corresponding to the different material of shoes. In the shoe industry, it is expected that the device could contribute to developing a better shoe for comfort of costumers.

촉진 열화 느티나무 부재의 역학적 특성 (Mechanical Properties of Zelkova Serrata Makino in Accelerated Weathering Test)

  • This study was carried out to analyze the effects on mechanical properties of deteriorated wood member by outdoor condition. The surface color, mechanical properties and structural stability of traditional wooden structures, exposed in water and UV, could be changeable. For the purpose, accelerated weathering test based on outdoor condition was carried out. The weathering time levels were composed 0, 500, 1000, 1,500 and 2,000 hours and mechanical properties were evaluated on each specimen according to weathering time level. Bending properties were decreased on weathering but recovered after 1,000 hours. Fatigue and impact strength were decreased to 1,000 hours and did not changed since then. Abrasion resistance was minimized in 1,000 hours. This results could be utilized for effectively stability management of traditional wooden structures and members.

시효처리한 Sn-xAg-Cu계 무연솔더 조성에 따른 굽힘충격 특성평가 (Bending Impact Properties Evaluation of Sn-xAg-Cu Lead Free Solder Composition and aging treatment)

  • 전자기기에서의 고장 중 대부분은 작동 중 발생하는 열과 충격에 기인한다. 이 열과 충격은 PCB(Printed Board) 부품의 접합부 계면에 균열을 야기 시키고, 이 균열은 금속간 화합물(Intermetallic Compound: IMC)의 형성과 밀접한 관계를 가진다. 본 연구에서는 Sn-Ag-Cu계의 Ag함량을 변화한 Sn-1.0Ag-0.5Cu와 Sn-1.2Ag-0.5Cu 및 Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu의 3가지 조성의 솔더로 접합한 소재를 대상으로 1000시간 까지 등온시효(Isothermal Aging) 하였다. 등온시효 동 안 솔더(Solder)의 계면에 발생하는 IMC(Intermetallic Compound) 성장이 관찰되었으며, solder 접합부의 기계적 특성은 굽힘충격 시험법을 이용하여 평가되었다. 그 결과 시효처리 전에는 Ag 함량이 낮은 solder의 굽힘충격 특성이 우수하게 나타났으나, 시효처리 후에는 반대의 결과를 나타내었다. 이 결과는 IMC layer 주변에 생성된 미세한 $Ag_3Sn$ 및 조대한 $Cu_6Sn_5$와 관련되어, 미세한 $Ag_3Sn$이 충격을 완화한 것으로 나타나 이에 따라 굽힘충격 특성에 차이가 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

3점 굽힘 하중 해석을 통한 금속 판재형 도어 임팩트 단면형상 최적설계 (Optimal Section Design for Metal Press Door Impact Beam Development by 3-Point Bending Analysis)

  • 금속 일체형 판재 도어 임팩트 빔 개발을 위해 단면 형상의 최적설계를 진행하였다. 기존의 도어 임팩트는 충격을 흡수하는 강관과 양쪽에 브라켓을 용접하여 자동차에 설치하는 구조로 이루어졌다. 하지만, 브라켓을 설치하기 위한 용접작업은 생산성을 떨어뜨리고 생산단가를 증가시키는 과정이다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 일체형 판재 도어 임팩트 빔의 개발은 반드시 필요한 공정이다. 본 논문에서는 일체형 판재 도어 임팩트의 단면 형상을 수치해석의 방법으로 제안하는 연구를 진행하였다. 외부 충격에 대한 반력 하중 및 생산성을 고려하여 엔지니어의 직관적인 설계 형상 6가지에 대하여 수치해석을 진행하였다. 객관적인 비교를 위해 3점 굽힘 하중 실험을 모사하는 유한요소해석을 진행하였다. 형상과 치수가 상이한 6가지의 단면 형상 중 최적의 형상을 선정하고, 상세 설계를 위해 단면형상의 높이와 폭의 치수를 변화시키며 해석을 진행하였다. 이를 통해, 일체형 판재 도어 임팩트의 최적의 단면 형상을 제안하였다.

자동차 측면 도어의 섬유금속적층판을 적용한 임펙트 빔의 수치해석에 의한 성능 평가 (Numerical Study on Performance Evaluation of Impact Beam for Automotive Side-Door using Fiber Metal Laminate)

  • 섬유금속적층판은 금속 판재와 섬유 강화 플라스틱을 적층한 하이브리드 소재 중 하나다. 섬유금속적층판은 부품 경량화 측면을 고려했을 시, 뛰어난 충격흡수능력을 가지고 있기 때문에 자동차 및 항공우주 산업에서 적용 및 연구를 진행하고 있는 추세다. 특히, 자동차의 측면 도어 임펙트 빔의 경우, 기존의 금속소재에서 복합재료로 대체하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 본 연구에서는 자동차의 측면 도어 임펙트 빔을 금속소재와 자기 강화형 폴리프로필렌을 적층한 섬유금속적층판으로 대체하는 것이 목표다. 3가지 종류의 임펙트 빔의 3점 굽힘 시험 수치해석을 통해 단면적 대비 굽힘 저항력의 크기를 비교하였다. 그 후, 제작 실현성을 고려하여 굽힘 저항력이 우수한 이중모자형 임펙트 빔을 순수 DP 980과 섬유금속적층판으로 제작하여 자동차 측면 도어에 설치된 모델을 상정하고 충돌 해석을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 섬유금속적층판을 사용한 임펙트 빔은 기존의 DP 980보다 무게 대비 충격 에너지 흡수 능력이 약 7배 높음을 알 수 있었다.

고장력 소재로 롤-포밍 공법에 의한 자동차 도어 사이드 임팩트 빔 개발 (Development of Vehicle Door Side Impact Beam with High Tensile Steel using Roll Forming Process)

  • The purpose of this study is to produce a side impact beam with high tensile steel using a roll forming process. The door side impact beam plays an important roll in a car because it protects passengers from external crash. The roll forming process is a continuous bending process wherein a long metal sheet is bended as it continuously passes several rolls. The characteristic of this study is that an impact beam is produced by a continuous process using a ultra high strength steel without a hardening heat treatment. A model was determined by analysing plasticity of a cross section shape considering high strength. Design parameters of the impact beam was determined by crash-analysing the model. Workpiece products were manufactured by designing dies for roll forming and setting them up in a following process line. Results of a bending test and a FEM analysis was considered and reviewed.

  • Recently, the importance of improving air quality has been greatly highlighted due to environmental problems such as indoor air pollution, and efforts are being made to improve indoor air quality not only in Korea but also around the world. In this situation, this study aims to study the physical properties of cement boards using pearlite with excellent physical adsorption performance due to micropores in materials, expanded graphite that is widely used as a flame retardant to prevent heat transfer in the event of a fire. The experimental items are bending fracture load and impact resistance. The bending destruction load at the fiber mixing rates 1, 2, 3, and 4 (%) did not meet the standard 140N, but the bending destruction load at 5% was 168.2N, and the impact resistance of the fiber mixing rates 1 and 2 (%) could not be measured due to cracks and damage, and the impact resistance at 3, 4, and 5 (%).

조선용 고장력강재와 보통강도강재간의 용접부위의 부식피로와 전기방식에 관한 연구 (A study on the corrosion fatigue and cathodic protection of the welded zone between high tensile strength steel and general strength steel used for the shipbuilding)

  • The plane bending corrosion fatigue test was performed on the welded zone between SM58 steel plate and SM41 steel plate jointed with submerged arc welding in the air and in the natural sea water with various conditions. The main results obtained from the test are summarized as follows: 1) The welded zone of the steel plates has the lowest impact strength and the highest electrode potential, but the hardness was mediate of SM58 base and SM41 base. 2) The cathodic protection of the welded zone was also effective for the plane bending corrosion fatigue, and the optimum protection potential of the welded zone was -1,000 mV SCE. 3) The corrosion fatigue strength under the various stress conditions of the steel plate could be estimated and also the require safety factors on the design could be obtained from the plane bending fatigue limit diagram.

치과교정용 wire 납착시 가열온도의 변화가 제특성에 미치는 영향 (Impact on the characteristics by heating temperature change during orthodontic wire solder)

  • Purpose : To understand the impact on the strength or restoration force by the change of heating temperature when soldering 18-8 stainless steel round wire which is the chrome-nickel class for dental orthodontic device production. Methods : The following conclusions were made upon the results from tensile strength test, 3 point bending test, and $90^{\circ}$ bending fatigue test with 24 samples that had been applied with condition 1 (before heat treatment - natural) and condition 2 (after heat treatment - mooring 30 seconds after heating up to $500^{\circ}C$, $700^{\circ}C$, and $900^{\circ}C$) to ${\phi}0.4mm$, ${\phi}0.7{\beta}mm$, 18-8 stainless steel round wire (spring hard) by Jinsung Company. Results : When it was heat-treated at $900^{\circ}C$, both ${\phi}0.4mm$ and ${\phi}0.7mm$ showed very low tensile strengths compared to the heat treated cases at $500^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$ Yield strengths of both ${\phi}0.4mm$ and ${\phi}0.7mm$ showed very low compared to the heat treated cases at natural, $500^{\circ}C$, and $700^{\circ}C$, as well. Upon the results of 3 point bending test, the heat treated case at $900^{\circ}C$ showed very low in both ${\phi}0.4mm$ and ${\phi}0.7mm$, compared to the heat treated cases at natural, $500^{\circ}C$, and $700^{\circ}C$. Tensile strength of both ${\phi}0.4mm$ and ${\phi}0.7mm$ as well, showed very low compared to the heat treated cases at natural, $500^{\circ}C$, and $700^{\circ}C$. Upon the results of $90^{\circ}$ bending fatigue test, the heat treated case at $900^{\circ}C$ showed the highest wave node resistance in both ${\phi}0.4mm$ and ${\phi}0.7mm$. Conclusion : This study concluded that heating temperature change during wire soldering impacts on the characteristics of orthodntic wire.
