  • Facing information overload in today's complex environments, managers look to a concise set of marketing metrics to provide direction for marketing decision making. While there have been several papers dealing with the theoretical aspects of dashboard creation, no research creates and tests a dashboard using scientific techniques. This study develops and demonstrates an empirical approach to dashboard metric selection. In a fast moving consumer goods category, this research selects leading indicators for national-brand and store-brand sales and revenue premium performance from 99 brand-specific and relative-to-competition variables including price, brand equity, usage occasions, and multiple measures of awareness, trial/usage, purchase intent, and liking/satisfaction. Plotting impact size and wear-in time reveals that different kinds of variables predict sales at distinct lead times, which implies that managerial action may be taken to turn the metrics around before performance itself declines.

  • Inter-Organizational Cooperation is the most common and important strategy in modern public and privet sectors managerial activities. In this paper the concepts of inter-organizational cooperation means not selfish cooperation as in the game circumstance and theory, but general collaborative action between organizations, they have share same goal. The achievement level of jointed-goal of inter-organization is depended upon the performance of cooperation, which resulted from the conditions and circumstances of cooperation. This paper analyses the effect of inter-organizational cooperation on achievement level of the jointed goal between two organizations with computer simulation model of the system dynamics approach. In the computer simulation model, three factors, goal perception, communication, and control, are considered as a key conditions of cooperation, which impact on the performance of cooperation. Simulation model was constructed with focus on the dynamic interactions between these three factors and the achievement level of jointed-goal. Consequently, the results found in this paper may provide further grounds for reducing the time delay that included in the conditions of cooperation.

  • Developing into information oriented society, dependency on network systems increases gradually in the area of economy, society and so on. Under that circumstance, temporary stop or damage of integrity of network system may have a strong impact on economic activities and overall society. Recently, threat of cyber terrorism, organized hostile action to government or industry through network, is increasing. Because of the features of network, it is not sufficient only a nation's countermeasure against Cyber terrorism, so international cooperation is needed. We review the status of countermeasure against cyber terrorism and examine several considerations for policy establishment.

  • Human reliability assessment (HRA) is conducted on the unspoken premise that 'human error' is a meaningful concept and that it can be associated with individual actions. The basis for this assumption it found in the origin of HRA, as a necessary extension of PSA to account for the impact of failures emanating from human actions. Although it was natural to model HRA on PSA, a large number of studies have shown that the premises are wrong, specifically that human and technological functions cannot be decomposed in the same manner. The general experience from accident studies also indicates that action failures are a function of the context, and that it is the variability of the context rather than the 'human error probability' that is the much sought for signal. Accepting this will have significant consequences for the way in which HRA, and ultimately also PSA, should be pursued.

  • Coastal concrete structure is harmed by physical and chemical action of sea water, impact load, meteorological effect and etc. especially, premature reinforcement corrosion in concrete exposed to sea water has an important problem. In this study, the behavior of chloride ions penetrated through the coastal concrete structure with ordinary portland cement or ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBFS) was modeled. The physicochemical processes including the diffusion of chloride and the chemical reaction of chloride ion with calcium silicate hydrate and the other constituents of hardened cement paste such as$C_3A$ and $C_4AF$were analyzed by using the Finite Element Method. From analysis result, the corrosion of concrete structure with GGBFS begins 1.69~1.76 times later than that of concrete structure with ordinary portland cement.

  • A huge offshore structures such as immersed tunnel, ice-resisting wall are continuously subjected to large force from water pressure, wave action and impact loads. Composite steel-concrete structure of sandwich system has profitable advantages for a huge offshore structures. This composite structures should exhibit a high degree of strength and ductility, because of concrete confining effect and the property of steel plate. Therefore, it endures large deformation and absorbs a great deal of energy until failure. In this study, nonlinear analysis for composite steel-concrete structure of sandwich system was carried out, and certify the effects of various parameters, elastic·plastic behavior characteristic, load-carrying and failure mechanism.

  • Mutations in Ras GTPase are among the most common genetic alterations in human cancers. Despite extensive research investigating Ras proteins, their functions still remain a challenge over a long period of time. The currently available data suggests that solving the outstanding issues regarding Ras could lead to development of effective drugs that could have a significant impact on cancer treatment. Developing a better understanding of their biochemical properties or modes of action, along with improvements in their pharmacologic profiles, clinical design and scheduling will enable the development of more effective therapies.

  • Most of the Information Systems(IS) literature has focused on utilitarian or hedonic Information Technology(IT) to explain and predict IT adoption and use. This study investigates the relationships among individuals' beliefs and intention to use of movie website, which has both utilitarian and hedonic characteristics simultaneously. As a theoretical background, this study adopts Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and Motivation Theory, in which the former is well-known as a theory of IT adoption and use in IS field, and the latter is famous for a theory of individual's behavior in organizational behavior field. With 153 responses, five hypotheses are tested by using structured equation model. The results show that perceived ease of use positively influences perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment, and that all individuals' beliefs have a positive impact on intention to use of movie web-site. Based upon the study results, movie website's managers and professionals can plan and conduct their courses of action effectively for users' continuous visits on their operating website.

  • In this paper, the dynamic response of a piezoelectric layer with a penny-shaped crack is investigated. The piezoelectric layer is subjected to an axisymmetrical action of both mechanical and electrical impacts. Two kinds of crack surface conditions, i.e., electrically impermeable and electrically permeable, are adopted. Based upon integral transform technique, the crack boundary value problem is reduced to a system of Fredholm integral equations in the Laplace transform domain. By making use of numerical Laplace inversion the time-dependent dynamic stress and electric displacement intensity factors are obtained, and the dynamic energy release rate is further derived. Numerical results are plotted to show the effects of both the piezoelectric layer thickness and the electrical impact loadings on the dynamic fracture behaviors of the crack tips.

  • This paper evaluated the feasibility of laser consolidation for improving the properties of the plasma coated layer, Further, the mechanim of the degradation sequence of the chrome carbide layer applied on the turbine blades was postualted. The laser consolidation could be successfully applied for improcing the surface properties of the plasma coated blade, if a proper condition was carefully chosen. The consolidated layer had erosion & corrosion resistance and vond strength superiro to those of the as-plasma coated layer. The properties of the consolidated layer were strongly dependent upon the degree of dilution, especially on the Fe pickup from the substrate. The degradation of the plasma coating layer was thought to be a reault of the repeating action of the solid particle erosion, corrosion penetration through the pores and oxide films formed along the interlayer surface and impact spalling.
