  • This study is on the characteristics of discriminating of image using unique electric wave intensity value from satellite images data. Namely this study is on studying specific image characteristics by image spectrum and is on developing procedures discriminating of water, forest. narrow-leaved(coniferous) trees, broad-leaved(deciduous) trees, terrain, farmland, grassland, etc. using unique spectrum value in material. Finally applying this procedures, we design and implement discriminating system, IDEA(Information Discriminating Extracting Agent).

  • We know that JPEG image format is one of the most popular image formats in the digital area and distribution of digital photographic drawing it is interested frequently in certain types of forensic investigation. In most case, corrupted images are shown gaudiness with the boundary of the corrupted parts. In the paper, we propose a technique to carve correct JPEG images using transformation method and the approach can be used for JPEG image file carving tool development.

  • The passive focusing method finds the in-focus position by analyzing images captured by a camera. In this paper, we propose an efficient passive auto-focusing algorithm for video measuring systems. The sum of modified Laplacian of Gaussian is used to calculate focus values from images and Gaussian curve fitting is applied to estimate the optimal in-focus position. The Proposed method is tested for various objects and illuminations. The test result is compared with other methods to verify accuracy and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

  • Various services are developed from advancement of satellite imagery methodologies and internet infrastructure expansions. However, most of these services still rely upon low-resolution satellite images combined with DEM models. In this paper, we have implemented the raw data processing modules and other modules that transfer and render high-spatial resolution satellite images for efficient streaming services in web environments. By utilizing the Bukhan-mountain data as a pilot study, the paper has proposed the efficient approach to solve graphical problems in real time processing the large geographical area.

  • We present a new text localization method in images using a multi-layer perceptron(MLP) and a multiple continuously adaptive mean shift (MultiCAMShift) algorithm. An automatically constructed MLP-based texture classifier generates a text probability image for various types of images without an explicit feature extraction. The MultiCAMShift algorithm, which operates on the text probability Image produced by an MLP, can place bounding boxes efficiently without analyzing the texture properties of an entire image.

  • In this paper, a content-based image retrieval scheme based on scale-space theory is proposed. The existing methods using scale-space theory consider all scales for image retrieval, thereby requiring a lot of computation. To overcome this problem, the proposed algorithm utilizes amodified histogram intersection method to select candidate images from database. The relative scalebetween a query image and a candidate image is calculated by the ratio of histograms. Feature pointsare extracted from the candidates using a corner detection algorithm. The feature vector for eachfeature point is composed of RGB color components and differential invariants. For computing thesimilarity between a query image and a candidate image, the euclidean distance measure is used. Theproposed image retrieval method has been applied to various images and the performance improvementover the existing methods has been verified.

Abstract This paper presents an elegant method, an affine-model based approach, that can qualitatively estimate the information of camera motion. We define various types of camera motion by means of parameters of an affine-model. To get those parameters from images, we fit an affine-model to the field of instantaneous velocities, rather than raw images. We correlate consecutive images to get instantaneous velocities. The size filtering of the velocities are applied to remove noisy components, and the regression approach is employed for the fitting procedure. The fitted values of the parameters are examined to get the estimates of camera motion. The experimental results show that the suggested approach can yield the qualitative information of camera motion successfully.
