RGB 색상 공간에서 색상 성분 이진화를 이용한차량 번호판 색상 분할 (Color Segmentation of Vehicle License Plates in the RGB Color Space Using Color Component Binarization)

  • This paper proposes a new color segmentation method of vehicle license plates in the RGB color space. Firstly, the proposed method shifts the histogram of an input image rightwards and then stretches the image of the histogram slide. Secondly, the method separates each of the three RGB color components and performs the adaptive threshold processing with the three components, respectively. Finally, it combines the three components under the condition of making up a segment color and removes noises with the morphological processing. The proposed method is implemented using C language in an embedded Linux system for a high-speed real-time image processing. Experiments were conducted by using real vehicle images. The results show that the proposed algorithm is successful for most vehicle images. However, the method fails in some vehicles when the body and the license plate have the same color.

다해상도 영상을 이용한 얼굴 구성요소 추출 (Face Component Extraction Using Multiresolution Image)

  • 이 논문에서는 칼라정보나 움직임 정보를 사용하지 않고 명암 영상에서 얼굴 구성요소론 추축하는 방법을 제안한다. 라플라시안 피라미드를 구성하고 저해상도 라플라시안 영상에서 명암 정보만을 이용하여 눈과 코 후보를 추출한 후 양 눈과 코로 구성될 수 있는 쌍을 구한다. 원 입력 영상에서는 이들 후보점들과 연관된 얼굴 구성요소들의 영역에서 수평 에지와 수직 에지를 찾고 이득 에지 정보를 사용하여 눈, 코, 입을 추출한다. 다양한 얼굴 크기, 위치를 가진 영상들에 대한 실험 결과 좋은 결과를 얻었다.

Spatial Clearinghouse Components for OpenGIS Data Providers

  • Recently, the necessity of accessing spatial data from remote computer via network has been increased as distributed spatial data have been increased due to their size and cost. Many methods have been used in recent years for transferring spatial data, such as socket, CORBA, HTTP, RPC, FTP, etc. In this paper, we propose spatial clearinghouse components to access distributed spatial data sources via CORBA and Internet. The spatial clearinghouse components are defined as OLE/COM components that enable users to access spatial data that meet their requests from remote computer. For reusability, we design the spatial clearinghouse with UML and implement it as a set of components. In order to enhance interoperability among different platforms in distributed computing environment, we adopt international standards and open architecture such as CORBA, HTTB, and OpenGIS Simple Features Specifications. There are two kinds of spatial clearinghouse: CORBA-based spatial clearinghouse and Internet-based spatial clearinghouse. The CORBA-based spatial clearinghouse supports COM-CORBA bridge to access spatial data from remote data providers that satisfy the OpenGIS Simple Features Specification for OLE/COM using COM and CORBA interfaces. The Internet-based spatial clearinghouse provides Web-service components to access spatial data from remote data providers using Web-browser.

Software Buffering Technique For Real-time Recording of High Speed Satellite Data

  • The real-time reception and recording of down-link mission data from a satellite requires the highest reliability because the data lost in receiving process cannot be recovered. The data receiving and recording system has moved from a set of dedicated hardware and software components to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components in order to reduce the system cost as well as to upgrade the system easily for handling other satellite data. The use of COTS hardware and middleware components prevents the system developer from correcting or modifying the internal operations of the COTS components, and hence, instant performance degradation of the COTS components which affects the reliable data acquisition must be covered by a software algorithm. This paper introduces the instant performance problem of a COTS data recording device which leads to the data loss in the real-time data reception and recording process. As a result, the requirement of the modification of the conventional data read/write technique is issued. In order to overcome the data loss problem due to the use of COTS components and the conventional software technique, a new algorithm called a software buffering technique is proposed. The experiments show that the application of the proposed technique results in reliable real-time reception and recording of high speed serial data.

윤곽선화상과 배경화상을 분리 처리하는 화상데이타 압축기법 (An Image Data Compression Algorithm by Means of Separating Edge Image and Non-Edge Image)

  • 본 논문에서는 화상을 고주파 성분이 포함된 윤곽신 화상과 저주파 성분이 포함된 배경 화상으로 분리하여 압축하는 화상 데이타 압축 알고리즘을 제질하였다. 윤관선 화상은 8방향 경사마스크를 사용하여 검출하고 연속길이 Huffman 부호화 방법을 적용하여 부호화하고 배경화상은 원화상에서 윤곽선화상을 제시하여 줌으로써 추출한 후 DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform)을 취하여 이 개수에 대한 비트 할당표를 구하여 부호화 하였다. 실제 화상에 적용한 결과 최고 신호내 잡음비(PSNR)이 36 dB에서 압축율이 0.52bpp(bit/pixel)로 만족할만한 결과를 보여 주었다.

여대생의 퍼스널 이미지가 자기효능감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Personal Image on Self-Efficacy in Female University Students)

  • By investigating structural relationships between personal image and self-efficacy, this experimental study purposes to suggest a direction and the meaning of effective education on personal image. Based on scholars' studies on personal image and self-efficacy, this study extracts a revised questionnaire on personal image. The experimental study proved the relationship between the variables of personal image and self-efficacy by using personal image questionnaires which are extracted from the literature study. For this purpose, we have conducted a questionnaire survey including 234 students from women's university in Seoul. The results of this study are as follows. First, for cognitions on personal image, which are components of the internal image, both the visual image and social image impacting on self-efficacy have a significant efficacy in the self-regulation factor. Second, the satisfaction rates of the components for personal image impacting all the factors of self-efficacy showed a significant effect. Third, the significant results are being obtained from the analysis of differences in self-efficacy according to the levels of satisfaction rates on internal image and social image, which are expected to have effects on the self-efficacy between the groups for all factors. However, according to the analysis of differences in self-efficacy in relation to the levels of satisfaction for visual images, only the self-confidence factor in the self-efficacy is different between the groups.

  • DBS 알고리즘은 레이다가 방위각 해상도 성능을 향상시키는 방안이다. DBS 영상에는 레이다의 탐색영역 정보를 포함하기 때문에 탐지하고자 하는 표적외에도 다양한 클러터 성분이 존재한다. DBS 영상에서 원하는 표적을 탐지/추적하기 위해서는 표적과 클러터 성분을 식별할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 DBS 영상에서 표적을 식별하기 위하여 영상크기와 지형 정보(DTED)를 이용하는 방안을 서술한다. 형태연산(morphological) 필터, 체인코드를 이용하여 영상의 크기정보를 획득하고 클러터 성분을 배제하였고, DTED와 정합하여 표적을 결정한다.

  • A concession business at Incheon Int'l airport has achieved a huge success since its grand opening of 2001. However the duty-free market became matured due to downtown duty free stores and on-line stores. Thus this paper tried to research and suggest strategic planning of VMD at Incheon airport's duty-free after analyzing the relationship among the components of duty-free store's VMD, brand awareness, brand image and customer's loyalty. Components of VMD are constructed in harmony, attractiveness, trendiness and Trust, which are independent variables. In addition, brand awareness and brand image are chosen as control variables. Customer loyalty is also designated as a dependant variable. Focusing those variables, this paper tried to find out the effect of VMD components to brand and consumer loyalty. According to the research result, it is proven attractiveness and harmony have a significant positive impact on brand awareness and brand image. It is also found out brand awareness and image have a positive impact on passenger's loyalty on duty-free stores at Incheon airport.

  • We derive the point-spread function of the reconstructed image from a point-source complex hologram, which includes phase error caused by polarization components, in the longitudinal direction of the point-spread function and analyze the effect of the error sources of polarization components having influence on image reconstruction of a point-source complex hologram in incoherent triangular holography.

  • Signal is composed of the independent components that can describe itself. These components can distinguish itself from any other signals and be extracted by analysis itself. This algorithm is called Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and image signal is considered as linear combination of independent components and features that is the weighted vector of independent component. This algorithm is already used in order to extract the good feature for image classification and very effective In this paper, we'll explain the method of stereo matching using independent component analysis and show the experimental result.
