Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe and explore the experience process of life of patients with Crohn's disease. Methods: Using a grounded theory methodology, 24 interviews were performed with 7 men and 5 women, 17-47 years of age, suffering from Crohn's disease. Results: 'Tuning of two conflicting lives' was identified as the core category, and 5 subcategories were identified and they were integrated into the core category. The identified outcomes were 'Living a withdrawn life', 'coping flexibly', 'drifting with tangled emotions' and 'maintaining long-term remission'. Conclusion: When caring for these patients, it is important to identify needs, allow patients to express what they want at that moment and support them in maintaining a daily life that can be perceived as normal.
In this study, there are 6 mixers that are installed in a 600,000 barrel tank. We identified internal flow characteristics of floating roof tank with varying the number of operation from 4 to 6 because mixer is a variable that influence flow characteristics of the tank. And while varying an angle from Right $60^{\circ}$, Right $30^{\circ}$, Left $30^{\circ}$ to Left $60^{\circ}$, we identified internal flow characteristics of the tank. As a result, maximum velocity of flow was 0.02m/s stationarily when we changed the number of operation from 4 to 6. Maximum velocity of flow by change of an angle was from 0.42m/s to 0.47m/s. Therefore, we identified that these factors don't have a great influence on internal flow characteristics of a tank by investigating results with varying the number of operation and an angle.
In this paper, the acceptability of system identification results for health monitoring of instrumented bridges is addressed. This is conducted by comparing the confidence intervals of identified modal parameters for a bridge in California, namely Truckee I80/Truckee river bridge, with the change of these parameters caused by several damage scenarios. A challenge to the accuracy of the identified modal parameters involves consequences regarding the damage detection and health monitoring, as some of the identified modal information is essentially not useable for acquiring a reliable damage diagnosis of the bridge system. Use of strong motion data has limitations that should not be ignored. The results and conclusions underline these limitations while presenting the opportunities offered by system identification using strong motion data for better understanding and monitoring the health of bridge systems.
A total of 77 cases was identified to have human errors from a total of 255 trips occurred from 1978 to 1992 in Korean NPPs. The cases were analyzed to investigate how many human errors occurred on which work conditions to find out the areas of high priority for human error reduction. For the analysis of the 77 trip cases due to human errors, classifications were made for the following four categories ; plant systems, work situation, job types, and error types. Erroneous tasks critically influencing the plant trips were carefully identified and analyzed according to the classifications. Based on the results for the individual cases, the cases were counted for the classification items in each of the four categories, then also for the group of categories to investigate the relationships among the categories in aspects of human error occurrences. As results, the plant systems, work situations, and job types, and error types that are dominant in human errors related to the trips ore identified.
The sapogenins of two-and four-year-old A-merican ginseng plants (Panax quinquefolium L.) (Araliaceae) collected in July and September were studied. American ginseng saponins (panaquilins) differ from Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) saponins (ginsenosides). The American ginseng saponins separated and named were panaquilins A, B, C, D, E-l, E-2, E-3, G-l, G-2, (c) and (d). One-dimensional thin-layer chromatography did not completely separate panaquilin mixture and were subject to misinterpretation. The panaquilins were more accurately separated and identified by the two-dimensional thin-layer method established. Some differences in American ginseng saponins were dependent upon the plant age, time of collection, and part extracted. The American ginseng sapogenin components are panxadiol (panaquilins B and C), oleanolic acid (panaquilin D) and panaxatriol (panaquilin G-l). The panaquilins E-l, E-2 and E-3 mixture contains both panaxadiol and panaxatriol. The genins of panaquilins A, (c), (d) and G-2 were not identified. In addition, ${\beta}-sitosterol$ and stigmasterol were identified from the root ether extracts.
Peucedanum terebinthaceum Fischer (Umbelliferae) known as "Gi Reum Na Mool" in Korea and used for the treatment of cough, phlegm, headache and common cold etc. The substances were isolated from the fruits of Peucedanum terebinthaceum and identified by UV, GLC, IR, NMR, Mass spectra and physico-chemical tests. The steroidal compounds from the fruits were identified as $\beta$-sitosterol (tR 33.01 min.) and stigmasterol (tR 28.87 min.) by GLC. Substance I (colorless prismatic crystal, $C_{19}H_{20}O_5$, mp $110~111^{\circ}$) was identified as decursin which is one of the pyranocoumarin. Hydrolysis of substance I with 5%-potassium hydroxide produced decursinol. Acetylation of decursinot gave its monoacetate, white needles, $C_{16}H_{16}O_5$. Substance II(light yellowish white needle crystal, $C_9H_6O_3$, mp $227~228^{\circ}$) was proved to be umbelliferone. Substance I, decursin, was isolated for the first time from the fruits of Peucedanum spp. (Umbelliferae).
The genets of Suillus granulatus in a Pinus strobus stand ($13m{\times}60m$) were identified using random amplified polymorphic DNA molecular markers and the DNA of mushrooms that fruited for two years, and variations in genet size and distribution were analyzed. From a total of 116 mushrooms, 73 genets were identified and were grouped into three locations. The genets of mushrooms in close proximity differed from each other. The genet sizes varied at any of the three locations. The lengths of the identified genets in the pine stand ranged from 0.09 to 2.90 m. The average number of mushrooms per genet was 1.2 to 2.3, and the percentage of genets that were represented by a single mushroom was 44% to 94%. This variation in the genets of mushrooms in close proximity suggests that the ectomycorrhizal mycelial bodies of S. granulatus propagated sexually by fusing haploid spores derived from the mushrooms gills with below-ground mycelia. Therefore, it is necessary further to investigate the formation of new genets through spores in ectomycorrhizal fungal colonies.
The purpose of this study is to analyze styles of costume and understand meanings related to costume embodied in the images of Buddha in Baekche period. Visual and textual analysis of the paintings include the images of Buddha in Baekche period was used for the research. The results of this study were summarized as fellows; Budah's hair style is identified as simple, Gae. Buddha wears Sanghati(outer wear) made of Tongeun and Peundanwoogeun, and many cases Sanghati made of Tongeun are usually seen. Three kinds of upper garment were identified; Samkaksika, right and left crossed upper garment, and Peunsam. Samkaksika was frequently seen in the paintings. Lower garment was a Nirasana reach to the ankle, was worn with a belt. Two skirts were also seen occasionally. The symbolic meaning of costume of Buddha was related to its religious meaning and identified as majesty and saintliest, which is harmonized with her simple costume styles. The wrapped style of costume, which did not show the contour of the buddha's body adds mystery. Also, the styles of costume created by different wrapping methods signify originality.
In many cases the systems are so complex that it is not possible to obtain reasonable models using physical insight. Also a model based on physical insight contains a number of unknown parameters even if the structure is derived from physical laws. These problems can be solved by system identification. In this paper, Arago's disk system which has both stable and unstable regions is selected as an example for identification and a state-space model is identified using tailor-made model structure of this system. In stable region, a state-space model of Arago's disk system is identified through open loop experiment and a state-space model of unstable region is identified through closed loop experiment after using fuzzy controller to stabilize unstable system.
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are known for their role in mRNA silencing via interference pathways. Repetitive elements (REs) share several characteristics with endogenous precursor miRNAs. In this study, 406 previously identified and 1,494 novel RE-derived miRNAs were sorted from the GENCODE v.19 database using the RepeatMasker program. They were divided into six major types, based on their genomic structure. More novel RE-derived miRNAs were confirmed than identified as RE-derived miRNAs. In conclusion, many miRNAs have not yet been identified, most of which are derived from REs.
