  • The fast and accurate spectrum sensing over an ultra-wide bandwidth is a big challenge for the radio environment cognition. Considering sparse signal feature, two novel compressed sensing schemes are proposed, which can reduce compressed sampling rate in contrast to the traditional scheme. One algorithm is dynamically adjusting compression ratio based on modulation recognition and identification of symbol rate, which can reduce compression ratio. Furthermore, without priori information of the modulation and symbol rate, another improved algorithm is proposed with the application potential in practice, which does not need to reconstruct the signals. The improved algorithm is divided into two stages, which are the approaching stage and the monitoring stage. The overall sampling rate can be dramatically reduced without the performance deterioration of the spectrum detection compared to the conventional static compressed sampling rate algorithm. Numerous results show that the proposed compressed sensing technique can reduce sampling rate by 35%, with an acceptable detection probability over 0.9.

  • Many diverse methods have been developing in the field of biometric identification as human-friendliness has been emphasized in the intelligent system's area. One of emerging method is to use human footprint. Automated footprint-based person recognition was started by Nakajima et al.'s research but they showed relatively low recognition result by low spatial resolution of pressure sensor and standing posture. In this paper, we proposed a modified Nakajima's method to use walking footprint which could give more stable toe information than standing posture. Finally, we prove the usefulness of proposed method as 91.4tt recognition rate in 11 volunteers' test.

  • Recently RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology advances in wireless communication technologies are bringing new challenges. But RFID tag packaging technology has been lagging compared to the demand, so this technology is being required to improve reliability. In this paper, reliability comparison among 11 types of most commonly used epoxy molding in electrical/electronic components packaging has been made through analysis of confidentiality using a humidity sensor. Consequently, the variation of moisture penetration time causes has been verified by the changes in molding thickness for 3 types of epoxy, and from the result, the best experimental results were observed in terms of confidentiality. Moreover we have been confirmed the relationship between confidentiality, the molding thickness, and thermal property of epoxy through thermal analysis.

  • Since it is a very issue that figures out a current position of mobile robots, various methods have been proposed until nowadays. This paper proposes the sensor model of RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) and position estimation algorithm for mobile robots. We designed the sensor model of RFID in experimenting repeatedly. The sensor model of RFID in this case is that of stochastics according to sensing rate. Based on this stochastic sensor model, we designed the algorithm which estimates distance and direction of RFID tag. Therefore we made sure that RFID tag is used as landmark.

  • Identification of escherchia coli K1 polysaccharide antigen isolated from urine specimens of urinary tract infections in children were performed from of 1992 to 1993 in Kyoto, Japan. The serotypes of E. coli were categorized that O1:H7, O2:H6, O2:H7, O16:H6, O18:H7, O18:H ̄, and O135:H44 among 14 strains isolated from urine specimens of urinary tract infections in children by the serological test. And, one strain (O18:H ̄, isolation rate: 7.1%) of E. coli K1 polysaccharide antigen among 14 strains were isolated from urine specimens of urinary tract infections in children by the bacteriophage test.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find how to determine the parameters of the basic control system design such as hinge moment coefficients and to display the controllability of the ChangCong-91. Since the estimation from the flight test of real aircraft is the most reliable, we performed the flight test of ChangGong-91 to get the various parameters such as velocity, height, control force, control surface deflection, 3 axis acceleration, 3 axis angular rate, pitch angle, angle of attack temperature and so on. We recorded the flight test data in VHS tapes and stored them to personal computer using A/D(analog to digital) converter. Flight test was done in various conditions, and the acquired data was processed with parameter identification method such as least square method. These data will be utilized for the development of Autopilot System design and Control Loading System design.

  • In recent years, in spite of medical advancement, tuberculosis (TB) remains a worldwide health problem. Although many laboratory methods have been developed to expedite the diagnosis of TB, delays in diagnosis remain a major problem in the clinical practice. Because of the slow growth rate of the causative agent Mycobacterium tuberculosis, isolation, identification, and drug susceptibility testing of this organism and other clinically important mycobacteria can take several weeks or longer. During the past several years, many methods have been developed for direct detection, species identification, and drug susceptibility testing of TB. A good understanding of the effectiveness and practical limitations of these methods is important to improve diagnosis. This review summarizes the currently-used advances in non-molecular and molecular diagnostics.

  • The conventional feature recombination technique is very effective in the band-limited noise condition, but in broad-band noise condition, the conventional feature recombination technique does not produce notable performance improvement compared with the full-band system. To cope with this drawback, we introduce a new technique of sub-band likelihood computation in the feature recombination, and propose a new feature recombination method by using this sub-band likelihood computation. Furthermore, the reliable sub-band selection based on the signal-to-noise ratio is used to improve the performance of this proposed feature recombination. Experimental results shows that the average error reduction rate in various noise condition is more than 27% compared with the conventional full-band speaker identification system.

  • The enhancements of bioenergy production effectiveness require the comprehensively experimental study of several parameters affecting these bioprocesses. The interpretation of the obtained experimental results and the estimation of optimum yield are extremely complicated such as misinterpreting the results of an experiment. The use of mathematical modeling and statistical experimental designs can consistently supply the predictions of the potential yield and the identification of defining parameters and also the understanding of key relationships between factors and responses. This paper summarizes several mathematical models used to achieve an adequate overall and maximal production yield and rate, to screen, to optimize, to identify, to describe and to provide useful information for the effect of several factors on bioenergy production processes. The usefulness, the validity and, the feasibility of each strategy for studying and optimizing the bioenergy-producing processes were discussed and confirmed by the good correlation between predicted and measured values.

  • This study aimed at discovering whether Korean language learners who had never been exposed to Korean phones before could distinguish Korean phones and whether learners who had comparatively better ability of identifying phonetic differences displayed a better result in acquiring Korean phonemes. The study conducted two experiments on 25 learners. In Experiment I, an oddball test (ABX) was performed to investigate the learners' ability to discriminate Korean phones on the first day of the course. In Experiment II, an identification test was administered to analyze the ability of identifying Korean phones on the same learners after three weeks of language instruction. The results revealed that the true-beginner learners demonstrated different phonetic discrimination abilities, but these abilities did not seem to correlate with the rate of acquisition.
