여군 전투복 내 관절 부위 보호 패드 개발을 위한 설계 변인 조합에 따른 물성 평가 (Evaluation of Physical Properties of Material Combination for Fabricating Protection Pads for Women's Army Combat Uniforms )

  • In this study, the properties of various material combinations were evaluated and an ideal material for fabricating protection pads for women's army combat uniforms was determined. Eight specimens were used for the evaluation: two types of materials, namely thermoplastic polyurethane for 3D printing, T and ethylene-vinyl acetate, E; two infill densities, namely 10%, 10 and 30%, 30; two types of pad designs, i.e., without holes, A and with holes, B; 2×2×2=8 and control E. The tensile strength, flexural strength, impact absorption, and weight of these specimens were evaluated. Results revealed that E was the most flexible material; however, its tensile strength and impact absorption were very low. Protection pads made from T (T-10A, T-10B, T-30A, and T-30B) had excellent tensile strength and impact absorption; however, they had low performance in ease of movement. Alternatively, protection pad with holes and an infill density of 30% produced using a combination of T and E had a high initial tensile modulus and exhibited excellent impact absorption. Moreover, it was flexible and light, which satisfies the standards and conditions required by protection pads. However, if T-E-10A and T-E-30B exhibited low impact absorption, as required, they can be regarded as appropriate materials for protection pads.

원주지역 중학생들의 성별에 따른 식행동과 신체만족도 및 체중조절 관심도에 영향을 미치는 변인 (Dietary Behaviors, Body Satisfaction and Factors Affecting the Weight Control Interest According to Gender of Middle School Students in Wonju Area)

  • 본 연구는 원주지역 중학생 446명을 대상으로 성별에 따른 비만도, 식행동 및 신체만족도, 그리고 체중조절 관심도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 조사하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 남학생의 평균 신장과 체중은 각각 $164.8{\pm}8.3\;cm$$55.5{\pm}12.3\;kg$이었고, 여학생은 $158.8{\pm}5.0\;cm$$48.7{\pm}7.4\;kg$으로 나타났으며, 평균 BMI는 남학생과 여학생이 각각 20.3과 19.3으로 나타났다. 하루 식사 중 세 끼를 다 먹는 경우는 남녀학생 모두 69.7%로 나타났으며, 식사를 거르는 경우는 남녀학생 모두 아침결식율(43%)이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다(p<0.01). 간식은 거의 대부분이 하루에 1번 이상 섭취(95.5%)하고 있었는데, 가공식품 구매 및 선택 시 영양표시를 읽는 지의 여부에 관해 '읽지 않는다'가 73.1%로 나타나 거의 대부분의 학생들이 영양표시를 읽지 않고 가공식품을 선택하는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 식이섭취태도 전체점수는 여학생이 $35.08{\pm}5.91$점, 남학생이 $33.81{\pm}5.45$점으로 여학생이 남학생보다 높게 나타났는데(p<0.01), 이는 남학생이 여학생보다 고열량 및 지방이 많이 함유된 식품을 선호하였기 때문인 것으로 생각된다. 식이자기효능감의 전체점수는 여학생이 남학생보다 높게 나타났으나 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 식이장애증상 전체점수는 여학생이 남학생보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며(p<0.01), 조사대상자의 87.2%가 정상군으로, 12.8%가 식이장애가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 성별에 따른 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 그러나 남학생의 식이장애 위험군은 다른 연구에 비해 매우 높은 수준을 나타내었다. 신체만족도는 여학생이 $28.00{\pm}5.52$점, 남학생이 $30.16{\pm}5.08$점으로 여학생이 남학생보다 신체만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다(p<0.001). 각 변인들 간의 상호관련성을 알아본 결과, 식이자기효능감은 식이섭취태도와 양의 상관관계(r=0.398, p<0.01)를 나타내었으며, 신체만족도는 식이섭취태도와 양의 상관관계(r=0.117, p<0.05)를, 식이장애증상(r=-0.104, p<0.05)과는 음의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 또한 성별, BMI, 식이섭취태도 및 식이자기효능감, 식이장애증상 그리고 신체만족도와 같은 변인들이 체중조절 관심도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 여러 독립변인들은 체중조절 관심도를 33.3% 설명해 주고 있으며, 신체만족도($\beta=-0.387$, p<0.001)가 체중조절 관심도에 영향을 미치는 가장 중요한 변인으로 작용하였다. 이상의 결과에서 청소년들이 영양적으로 균형 잡힌 식사방법과 자신의 신체에 대한 올바른 인식을 형성할 수 있는 체계적인 영양교육 프로그램이 청소년들의 식행동 및 신체만족도를 높일 수 있도록 개발된다면 청소년들의 건강한 식사패턴과 이상체형에 대한 왜곡된 인식을 개선해 나가는데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다.

  • The increasing functional needs of top-quality printing papers and packaging paperboards, and especially the rapid developments in electronic printing processes and various computer printers during past few years, set new targets and requirements for modern paper quality. Most of these paper grades of today have relatively high filler content, are moderately or heavily calendered , and have many coating layers for the best appearance and performance. In practice, this means that many of the traditional quality assurance methods, mostly designed to measure papers made of pure. native pulp only, can not reliably (or at all) be used to analyze or rank the quality of modern papers. Hence, introduction of new measurement techniques is necessary to assure and further develop the paper quality today and in the future. Paper formation , i.e. small scale (millimeter scale) variation of basis weight, is the most important quality parameter of paper-making due to its influence on practically all the other quality properties of paper. The ideal paper would be completely uniform so that the basis weight of each small point (area) measured would be the same. In practice, of course, this is not possible because there always exists relatively large local variations in paper. However, these small scale basis weight variations are the major reason for many other quality problems, including calender blacking uneven coating result, uneven printing result, etc. The traditionally used visual inspection or optical measurement of the paper does not give us a reliable understanding of the material variations in the paper because in modern paper making process the optical behavior of paper is strongly affected by using e.g. fillers, dye or coating colors. Futhermore, the opacity (optical density) of the paper is changed at different process stages like wet pressing and calendering. The greatest advantage of using beta transmission method to measure paper formation is that it can be very reliably calibrated to measure true basis weight variation of all kinds of paper and board, independently on sample basis weight or paper grade. This gives us the possibility to measure, compare and judge papers made of different raw materials, different color, or even to measure heavily calendered, coated or printed papers. Scientific research of paper physics has shown that the orientation of the top layer (paper surface) fibers of the sheet paly the key role in paper curling and cockling , causing the typical practical problems (paper jam) with modern fax and copy machines, electronic printing , etc. On the other hand, the fiber orientation at the surface and middle layer of the sheet controls the bending stiffness of paperboard . Therefore, a reliable measurement of paper surface fiber orientation gives us a magnificent tool to investigate and predict paper curling and coclking tendency, and provides the necessary information to finetune, the manufacturing process for optimum quality. many papers, especially heavily calendered and coated grades, do resist liquid and gas penetration very much, bing beyond the measurement range of the traditional instruments or resulting invonveniently long measuring time per sample . The increased surface hardness and use of filler minerals and mechanical pulp make a reliable, nonleaking sample contact to the measurement head a challenge of its own. Paper surface coating causes, as expected, a layer which has completely different permeability characteristics compared to the other layer of the sheet. The latest developments in sensor technologies have made it possible to reliably measure gas flow in well controlled conditions, allowing us to investigate the gas penetration of open structures, such as cigarette paper, tissue or sack paper, and in the low permeability range analyze even fully greaseproof papers, silicon papers, heavily coated papers and boards or even detect defects in barrier coatings ! Even nitrogen or helium may be used as the gas, giving us completely new possibilities to rank the products or to find correlation to critical process or converting parameters. All the modern paper machines include many on-line measuring instruments which are used to give the necessary information for automatic process control systems. hence, the reliability of this information obtained from different sensors is vital for good optimizing and process stability. If any of these on-line sensors do not operate perfectly ass planned (having even small measurement error or malfunction ), the process control will set the machine to operate away from the optimum , resulting loss of profit or eventual problems in quality or runnability. To assure optimum operation of the paper machines, a novel quality assurance policy for the on-line measurements has been developed, including control procedures utilizing traceable, accredited standards for the best reliability and performance.

대맥의 등숙기간중 엽신의 노화와 동화산물전류의 품종간 차이 (Varietal Differences of Leaf Senescence and Photosynthate Translocation Rate During Grain Filling Period in Barley)

  • 출수후 등숙기간 동안에 엽신의 노화속도와 동화산물의 전류특성과의 관계를 구명하며 등숙향상 및 단기등숙 품종육성을 위한 선발지표를 제공코자 엽신의 노화정도가 다른 올보리외 29품종 및 계통을 공시하여 엽신 노화율, 등숙율 및 상호 상관관계를 조사하였던 바 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 엽신의 노화속도 및 입충전속도(등숙율)는 계통에 따라 큰 차이가 있었다 2. 등숙초ㆍ중기(출수후 10-20일) 및 등숙중ㆍ후기(출수후 20-30일)의 엽신 노화율과 해당 각 시기의 등숙율과는 높은 정의 상관관계가 있었다. 3. 등숙초ㆍ중기의 엽신 노화율과 등숙전기간(출수후 10-35일)의 등숙율과는 부의 상관이 등숙중ㆍ후기의 엽신 노화율과는 고도의 정의 상관관계가 있었다. 4. 입중과 등숙중ㆍ후기 및 등숙전기간의 등숙율과는 고도의 정의 상관관계가 있었으나 등숙초ㆍ중기의 등숙율 및 등숙일수와는 상관이 없었다. 5. 노화지수의 감소 양상은 계통에 따라 4가지 유형으로 분류할 수 있었는데 종실수량 및 등숙율면에서 가장 이상적인 유형은 IV형이었다 6. 본 시험결과 단기등숙형 대맥 품종으로 가장 이상적인 형은 등숙초ㆍ중기에는 노화지수가 높으면서도 노화속도가 느리나 등숙중ㆍ후기에는 노화속도가 빠른 품종임이 구명되었다.

심마비용액의 삼투압을 유지하기위한 첨가 물질들의 차이가 심근보호에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Additives in the Cardioplegic Solution on the Recovery of Myocardium, Compariosn Among Albumin, Mannitol, and Glucose)

  • High potassium cardioplegia is a widely accepted procedure to enhance myocardial protection from ischemic injuries associated with open heart surgery. Maintaining optimum osmolarity of the cardioplegic solution is one of the required conditions for an ideal cardioplegic solution Albumin is an frequently added component for maintaining optimum osmolarity of clinically used cardioplegic solutions. But the source of albumin is human blood so that the supply is limited and the cost of manufacturing is relatively high. Recently there are moves to minimized the use of blood product for fear of blood-associated infections or immunological disorders. In this experiment, we substituted mannitol or glucose for albumin added to the cardioplegic solution which has been used at the Wonju Medical College, To determine whether addition of mannitol or glucose instead of albumin in the cardioplegic solution can produce satisfactory myocardial protection during ischemia, three different groups of isolated rat heart perfused by modified Langendorff technique were studied. Wonju Cardioplegic Solution was selected as a standard high potassium[18mEq/L of K+] cardioplegic solution. Three kinds of cardioplegic solution were made by modifying the composition maintaining the same osmolarity[339$\pm$1mOsm/Kg] Isolated rat heart were perfused initially with retrograde nonworking mode and then changed to working mode. After measuring the heart rate, systolic aortic pressure, aortic flow, coronary flow, ischemic arrest by aorta cross clamp and cardioplegia was made maintaining the temperature of water jacket at 10oC. The heart was rewarmed and reperfused after 60min of ischemic arrest with intermittent cardioplegia at the 30min interval. The time to return of heart beat and the time required to get. Regular heart beat were observed after reperfusion. The recovery rate of the functional variables-heart rate, systolic aortic pressure, aortic flow, coronary flow and cardiac output were calculated and compared among the three groups of different cardioplegia-albumin, mannitol, and glucose. The wet weight and dry weight was measured and the water content of the heart as figured out for comparison. The time to return of heart beat was fastest in the albumin group, The functional recovery rates were best in the albumin group also. In the above conditions, albumin was the best additive to the cardioplegic solution compared to the mannitol or glucose.

충남지역 일부 여대생의 식이를 통한 중금속 섭취량과 혈중 중금속 농도 (Daily Intakes and the Blood Levels of Heavy Metals of the College Women Living in Choongchung-NamDo Area)

  • As the severity of environmental pollution increases, the foodstuffs are contaminated more the ever. There are 40 kinds of heavy metals that we are able to consume through the heavy metal contaminated-foodstuffs. Arsenic, lead, cadmium, and chromium out or them have been know to be a potential cause for a alzheimers disease, kidney diseases, and cancer. However, research data on the daily intakes of such heavy metals are limited. This study was performed to evaluate the daily intakes of nutrients and the dietary heavy metals of the college women living in Choongchung-NamDo Area, where had been reported to have high contents of heavy metals for the seafoods. We also investigated the blood levels of the heavy metals. The mean age, height, weight, BMI and percent ideal body weight(PIBW) of the subjects were 20$\pm$1.0yr, 158.4$\pm$0.7cm, 55.1$\pm$1.4kg, 22.4$\pm$.04, and 103.3$\pm$2.5 %, resp-ectivly. The mean of daily energy intake was 1,717.03$\pm$55.99kacl/day(86% of RDA for women). The ratio to energy from carbohydrate, fat and protein was 60: 24: 16. Daily intakes of Vit A, Vit B$_2$, CA, and Fe were under the RDA for those nutrients. The mean adequate ratio of the subjects was 0.92 . The daily intakes of heavy metal, such as As, Pb, Co, Cr and Mn , were 1.80$\pm$0.27mg, 75.21$\pm$4.12$\mu\textrm{g}$, 21.12$\pm$12.34$\mu\textrm{g}$, 60.07$\pm$6.24$\mu\textrm{g}$ and 6.23 $\pm$0.12mg respectively. the blood levels of As, Pb, Co, Cr and Mn were 16.10$\pm$2.10$\mu\textrm{g}$/dl, 4.32$\pm$0.58$\mu\textrm{g}$/dl, 0.02$\pm$0.01$\mu\textrm{g}$/dl, 4.23$\pm$0.41$\mu\textrm{g}$/dl, and 4.40$\pm$0.21$\mu\textrm{g}$/dl, respectively. In conclusion, daily intake of heavy metals for the college women living in Choongchung-NamDo area was lower than that of WHOs re-commendation, however, the blood levels of each heavy metals were higher than those of Japanese, american, and italian, There were no correlations between the dietary intakes and blood levels of each heavy metals. 여고생의 철영양상태 개선을 위한 영양교육과 철보충제 효과 연구 (The Effect of Nutrition Education and Iron Supplementation on Iron Status of High School Girls)

  • This study was designed to investigate the effects of iron supplementation and nutrition education on the iron status and anemia of high school girls. The subjects resided in Ulsan city in Korea and were already diagnosed as having anemia or iron deficiency. Over a period of three months, one iron tablet (80 mg Fe as ferrous sulfate/day) was administered to the iron deficient subjects and two tablets (160 mg Fe as ferrous sulfate/day) were administered to the anemia subjects. The average height and weight of anemia subjects were 161.24 $\pm$ 4.50 cm and 50.87 $\pm$ 5.86 kg, respectively. The average BMI (kg/$m^2$ )was 19.58 $\pm$ 2.03 and the PIBW(percent ideal body weight) were 92.52 $\pm$ 9.84%. Except for vitamin A and vitamin C intakes, the intake levels of all other nutrients were below the RDA. Total calorie intakes of anemia subjects were 73.5% of RDA. The iron intakes of subjects from food were 69. 1% of RDA and the Ca intakes were 59.1% of RDA. The basal hemoglobin(Hb) concentration of anemia subjects averaged 10.77 $\pm$ 1.33 g/dl, and this increased significantly (p < 0.001) to 12.12 $\pm$ 1.08 g/dl, after iron supplementation. The basal ferritin, and transferrin saturations {TS (%)}of anemia subjects were 12.51 $\pm$ 15.19 ng/$m\ell$ and 8.43 $\pm$ 7.56%, respectively, and these significantly increased to 20.59 $\pm$ 22.39 ng/$m\ell$ and 15.56 $\pm$ 12.87%, respectively. The level of total iron binding protein (TIBC) significantly decreased from the initial 486.80 $\pm$ 70.16 $\mu\textrm{g}$/dl to 417.86 $\pm$ 67.73 $\mu\textrm{g}$/dl (p < 0.001) after iron supplementation. For the iron deficiency subjects, the ferritin, iron and TS(%) levels were increased significantly (p < 0.001) and the TIBC levels were significantly (p <0.001) decreased after iron supplementation. Anemia symptoms such as 'Feeling blue (p<0.05)', 'Decreased ability to concentrate (p<0.001)' and 'Poor memory (p<0.05)' improved significantly after iron supplementation in the anemia subjects. The number of tablets administered was positively correlated with changes in serum hemoglobin (t=0.194, p< 0.01), serum ferritin (t=0.181, p<0.01), TS(%) (t=0.141, p<0.05), and hematocrit (t=0.254, p<0.01), and was negatively correlated with changes in TIBC (t=-0.143. p<0.05) and red cell distribution width (RDW, t=-0.140, p<0.05). In conclusion, daily iron supplementation was effective in improving the iron status and reducing symptoms of anemia in high school girls. (Korean J Nutrition 35 (9) : 943~951,2002)

유기산과 증점제를 첨가한 쌀국수의 품질 특성 (Quality characteristics of rice noodles with organic acid and thickening agents)

  • 쌀을 주원료로 국수를 제조하기 위해 유기산과 증점제를 이용하고 단백질, 텍스트린, 정제염을 첨가하였다. 혼합 유기산과 증점제를 사용한 쌀가루 반죽의 증숙 후 물성은 최대응력(max weight)은 평균 $2040.00\;g/cm^2$ 이었고 탄성 139.12%, 응집력 66.05%, 씹음성 1,396.13 g, 깨짐성 190,456.12 g으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과 쌀가루를 이용한 쌀국수제조에 적합한 조건은 다음과 같다. 원료쌀의 수침은 $20{\sim}25^{\circ}C$에서 12시간 실시하고 $35^{\circ}C$이하 온도에서 분쇄를 2회 실시하는 것이 적합하였고, 쌀가루의 물성을 변화시키기 위해 혼합유기산 0.255%(무수 구연산 0.10%, 사과산 0.75%, adipic acid 0.03%, 양조식초 0.05%), 혼합 증점제 2.820%(산탄검 1.00%, 구아검 0.80%, 알긴산나트륨 0.96%, 폴리아크릴산나트륨 0.06%), 글루텐 3.00%, 덱스트린 1.00%, 카제인나트륨 1.00%, 정제염 3.88%를 혼합한 쌀가루로 국수를 제조하는 것이 적합한 조건으로 판단되었다.

대전시에 거주하는 남ㆍ녀 고등학생의 체격지수 평가 및 섭식 장애 행동 분석 (Study on the Physique Status and Eating Disorder Behavior among High School Students in Daejeon)

  • 본 연구는 대전시 소재 고둥학교를 대상으로 동일한 학년의 남학생과 여학생으로 분류하여 체형에 대한 주관적, 객관적 평가를 하고 섭식 장애 행동을 분석하여 섭식 장애 고위험집단을 분류해 내었다. 또한, 체형에 대한 만족도 및 체중조절 행동 및 식생활 행동을 분석하여 섭식장애 행동과의 상관성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 여학생들은 유의적으로 동일 연령의 남학생에 비해(p<0.05) 자신의 체형을 실제보다 더 비만한 쪽으로 생각하는 경향을 보였으며, 정상체중을 유지하고 있음에도 불구하고 과체중으로 인식하고 있었다. 섭식장애 고위험 집단으로 분류된 남학생과 여학생은 2.6%와 11.4%로 나타났으며, 전체 7.2%로 분류되었다. 섭식장애 행동에는 체형에 대한 만족도, 체중 조절 경험 그리고 식생활 행동이 영향을 미치는 변인으로 분석되었으며 이러한 경향은 여학생에게서 뚜렷하게 나타났다(p<0.001).

Effect of Lysine to Digestible Energy Ratio on Growth Performance and Carcass Characteristics in Finishing Pigs

  • This experiment was performed to investigate the effects of lysine (Lys) to DE ratio on growth performance, and carcass characterics in finishing barrows. Ninety six cross-bred finishing barrows ((Landrace${\times}$Yorkshire)${\times}$Duroc, average BW $58.25{\pm}0.48$ kg) were assigned as a randomized complete block design by 2 energy levels and 4 Lys:DE ratios on the basis of BW to one of 8 treatments with 3 replications with 4 animals per pen. The levels of DE and Lys:DE ratio for each treatment were i) DE 3.35 Mcal/kg, 1.5 g Lys/Mcal DE, ii) DE 3.35 Mcal/kg, 1.8 g Lys/Mcal DE, iii) DE 3.35 Mcal/kg, 2.1 g Lys/Mcal DE, iv) DE 3.35 Mcal/kg, 2.4 g Lys/Mcal DE, v) DE 3.60 Mcal/kg, 1.5 g Lys/Mcal DE, vi) DE 3.60 Mcal/kg, 1.8 g Lys/Mcal DE, vii) DE 3.60 Mcal/kg, 2.1 g Lys/Mcal DE, viii) DE 3.60 Mcal/kg, 2.4 g Lys/Mcal DE. During finishing period from 58 kg to 103 kg of BW, increased energy density in the diet increased (p<0.05) ADG and gain:feed ratio, but did not influence ADFI. As Lys:DE ratio was increased, ADG, ADFI and gain:feed ratio were improved in finishing barrows (p<0.05). There were positive interactions (p<0.05) between carcass weight, grade, and backfat thickness and energy density and Lys level (p<0.05). In conclusion, data from our current study suggest that maximum yields including ADG, gain:feed ratio, carcass weight and grade can be achieved by administrating finishing pigs with an ideal Lys:DE ratio, Lys 2.1 g/DE Mcal.
