Impact of Female Consumer Self-Image on Pursued Fashion Style

  • This study investigates the impact of female consumer self-image on pursued fashion style. A survey was carried out among 717 women between the ages of 20 and 60 living in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi. Analysis was conducted in the following manner: SPSS 18.0 was used to perform an Exploratory Factor Analysis (descriptive analysis, principal factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, frequency analysis, and reliability analysis) and AMOS 21.0 was used to carry out a Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Based on a Structure Equation Model, results show that ideal self-image and realistic self-image, which are factors derived from psychology, affect pursued fashion style. By contrast, social self-image - derived from social contexts - does not. Therefore, the female consumers' self-image influences pursued fashion style; this is opposed to the relationship between the realistic self-image and ideal self-image of women, which is more unconscious and self-satisfying. The presented results indicate that we should respond to changes in the fashion industry and develop a deeper understanding of consumer niches to discover the factors that predict purchasing behavior. This knowledge can then be applied to establish market strategies. This study contributes to the literature by producing preliminary data that can help support such strategy formulation in the fashion and clothing industry.

미디어 노출 신체이미지와 탄막 이용이 다이어트 의도에 미치는 영향 -중국 비리비리(Bilibili) 동영상 사이트를 중심으로 (Effect of Exposure to Body Image in Media and Bullet Screen on Weight Loss Intention - Focused on Bilibili, a Video Sharing Website of China)

  • 본 연구에서는 중국의 대표적인 탄막 동영상 사이트인 비리비리(Bilibili)를 중심으로 미디어 노출 신체이미지와 탄막의 이용이 다이어트 의도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 20대 중국인 여성 310명을 대상으로 온라인 실험 연구가 진행되었으며, 3 (탄막 여부: 탄막 없음 vs. 신체이미지 칭찬하는 탄막 vs. 신체이미지 비판하는 탄막) x 2 (미디어 노출 신체이미지: 이상적 vs. 현실적) 피험자 간 설계로 이루어졌다. 주요 연구 결과를 살펴보면, 이상적인 신체이미지를 칭찬하는 탄막과 현실적인 신체이미지를 비판하는 탄막에서 시청자의 다이어트 의도가 더 강하게 나타났다. 더 나아가, 시청자의 다이어트 의도는 현실적인 신체이미지를 탄막 없이 볼 때보다 이상적인 신체이미지를 탄막과 같이 볼 때, 그리고 현실적인 신체이미지를 비판하는 탄막을 볼 때보다 이상적인 신체이미지를 칭찬하는 탄막을 볼 때 더 강하게 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 사회적 시청의 방식 중 하나로서의 탄막의 이용과 수용자의 행동 의도에 미치는 영향을 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것이다.

A Level Set Method to Image Segmentation Based on Local Direction Gradient

  • For image segmentation with intensity inhomogeneity, many region-based level set methods have been proposed. Some of them however can't get the relatively ideal segmentation results under the severe intensity inhomogeneity and weak edges, and without use of the image gradient information. To improve that, we propose a new level set method combined with local direction gradient in this paper. Firstly, based on two assumptions on intensity inhomogeneity to images, the relationships between segmentation objects and image gradients to local minimum and maximum around a pixel are presented, from which a new pixel classification method based on weight of Euclidian distance is introduced. Secondly, to implement the model, variational level set method combined with image spatial neighborhood information is used, which enhances the anti-noise capacity of the proposed gradient information based model. Thirdly, a new diffusion process with an edge indicator function is incorporated into the level set function to classify the pixels in homogeneous regions of the same segmentation object, and also to make the proposed method more insensitive to initial contours and stable numerical implementation. To verify our proposed method, different testing images including synthetic images, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and real-world images are introduced. The image segmentation results demonstrate that our method can deal with the relatively severe intensity inhomogeneity and obtain the comparatively ideal segmentation results efficiently.

중년 여성의 이상적인 신체이미지 인식, 외모에 대한 내재화 및 항비만 태도에 대한 연구 (A study on awareness of ideal body image, internalization of appearance, and anti-fat attitudes among middle-aged women)

  • Society's emphasis on a thin body ideal may intensify an individual's negative perceptions of fatness. The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between sociocultural attitudes toward appearance (awareness and internalization of the female ideal) and anti-fat attitudes among middle-aged Korean women. In addition, the aim was to examine whether the body internalization of female ideals was a mediator in the proposed model. Participants included a sample of 264 middle-aged Korean women who completed a series of measures online. The following information was collected through online questionnaires: awareness and internalization of the female ideal, attitudes toward fat, body weight perception, and demographics. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The measurement model and the structural model testing provided an acceptable fit to the data, and all proposed pathways in the research model were statistically significant. Awareness of the female ideal was significantly and positively associated with internalization, and it significantly and positively predicted both constructs of anti-fat attitudes. Additionally, awareness of the female ideal was significantly and positively indirectly associated with attitudes toward fat people-dislike and willpower mediated by internalization. Overall, these findings suggest that society's emphasis on female appearance and a thin body can ultimately result in significant stigmatization of overweight/obese individuals. This study emphasizes the importance of establishing a healthy appearance standard to reduce anti-fat prejudice.

  • 유방암중 관상피내암으로 진단 받은 환자를 대상으로 기존의 지방 억제 기법인 CHESS와 새로운 기법인 IDEAL을 정량적으로 비교 분석하여 IDEAL기법의 효과와 유용성을 고찰 해보고자 한다. 조직학적으로 관상피 내암으로 진단 받은 환자 20명을 대상으로 3.0T MR scanner를 이용하여 CHESS 기법과 IDEAL 기법을 이용하여 지방 억제한 횡이완 강조 영상과 조영 증강 전후의 종이완 강조 영상을 획득하였다. 분석 결과 횡이완 강조 영상과 조영 증강 전, 후의 종이완 강조 영상에서 신호대 잡음비는 병변 부위에서는 차이를 보이지 않는 반면 유관조직과 지방조직에서는 IDEAL 기법을 이용한 그룹에서 높은 신호대 잡음비를 보였으며 두 그룹에서의 대조도대 잡음비는 IDEAL 기법을 이용한 그룹에서 높은 대조도대 잡음비를 보였다.

NEUTROSOPHIC IDEALS IN SUBTRACTION ALGEBRAS

  • The notions of a neutrosophic subalgebra and a neutrosohic ideal of a subtraction algebra are introduced. Characterizations of a neutrosophic subalgebra and a neutrosophic ideal are investigated. We show that the homomorphic preimage of a neutrosophic subalgebra of a subtraction algebra is a neutrosophic subalgebra, and the onto homomorphic image of a neutrosophic subalgebra of a subtraction algebra is a neutrosophic subalgebra.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of perceived risk and product express-ive self-image on the consumer's adoption of casua hanbok. A questionnaire was developed and data colle-cted from 269 women in Pusan. Data were analyzed to investigate the relation-ship among purchase intention perceived risk and product epressive self-image. Marketing implication about risk reduction was discussed. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Consumer's perceived risk on adoption o casual hanbok classified into four factors They were the risk on the confirmation of advantage of casual hanbok the risk on the negative viewpoint of others the risk on the complexity of dressing and care and the risk on the shortcoming of casual hanbok. It was explained that casual hanbok is innovative product. 2. According to the level of adoption of casual hanbok. consumers were categorized into three groups i.e. adopter potential adopter rejector. They differed in the degree of risk perception age and subjective knowledge redlated to casual hanbok. 3. Consumer's subjective knowledge age and two types of risk has predicting power to the purchase intention. Consumer's subjective knowledge was the best predicted factor and risk perception was negatively related to purchase intention. 4. The significant differences among the categ-orized consumer group was founded in the ideal self image and product expressive self-image 5. The gap of perception between ideal self-image and product expressive self-image was significantly different in each categorized consumer groups.

정신장애자를 대상으로 한 의상치료 효과(제1보) (Effect of the Fashion Therapy for the Psychiatric Patients(Part I))

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on self-esteem and emotion of an improved self-appearance image among the female psychiatric patients, and the therapeutic effect of fashion therapy. The treatment intervention was provided for 37 psychiatric patients and the data of 17 participants was analyzed. The results were as follows: 1. The actual self-appearance image improved overall and all factors. Their expectation for the‘attractive’image was heightened. Their self-esteem was improved and negative emotions were reduced overall and depression. 2. The changes of the actual self-appearance had a positive correlation with self-esteem. and a negative correlation with negative emotion overall, especially anxiety, depression. Improvement of ‘attractive’image had the most correlation. 3. The changes of the ideal self-appearance image didn't have the correlation with self-esteem, but negative correlation with emotions overall and anxiety, depression and hostility. 4. The change in the incongruity of their ideal and actual self-appearance image overall had a negative correlation with the change of self-esteem and positive correlation with negative emotion, especially depression and hostility.

이상적 몸의 이미지를 갖춘 캐릭터의 창작 연구 (A study of creating character which has the image of ideal human body)

  • 오늘날에는 신체의 시각적 표현이 다양한 범주에서 보여 지고 있고, 컴퓨터 환경이야말로 개별적인 신체의 환경을 뛰어 넘는 커뮤니케이션의 새로운 형태라 말할 수 있다. 사이버 공간에서 몸의 상호 작용의 한 분야로서 게임에서, 캐릭터의 존재와 역할로 커뮤니케이션이 이루어 질 때, 각 캐릭터의 이상적인 신체 표현은 현실을 뛰어 넘는 극적인 아름다움을 표현 한다. 본 논문에서는 미술작품에 나타난 몸의 이미지 표현 방법과 변화과정을 분석하여, 이상적 인간형의 게임캐릭터 창작에 활용할 수 있는 방법을 모색하여 보았다. 캐릭터 제작 기술의 진보는 이미 한계에 이르렀지만, 그리이스시대 이래 현재까지 확립되어 온 신체비 례에 현대적이면서 미래적인 해석을 가미하여, 개성적이고 아름다운 캐릭터 전형을 창조함에 있어서, 이상적 몸의 이미지를 갖춘 캐릭터 창작방법의 바탕을 제시하였다.
