Background: Intracellular $Ca^{2+}$($[Ca^{2+}]_i$) is a platelet aggregation-inducing molecule. Therefore, understanding the inhibitory mechanism of $[Ca^{2+}]_i$mobilization is very important to evaluate the antiplatelet effect of a substance. This study was carried out to understand the $Ca^{2+}$-antagonistic effect of total saponin from Korean Red Ginseng (KRG-TS). Methods: We investigated the $Ca^{2+}$-antagonistic effect of KRG-TS on cyclic nucleotides-associated phosphorylation of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor type I ($IP_3RI$) and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP)-dependent protein kinase (PKA) in thrombin (0.05 U/mL)-stimulated human platelet aggregation. Results: The inhibition of $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ mobilization by KRG-TS was increased by a PKA inhibitor (Rp-8-BrcAMPS), which was more stronger than the inhibition by a cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)- dependent protein kinase (PKG) inhibitor (Rp-8-Br-cGMPS). In addition, Rp-8-Br-cAMPS inhibited phosphorylation of PKA catalytic subunit (PKAc) ($Thr^{197}$) by KRG-TS. The phosphorylation of $IP_3RI$ ($Ser^{1756}$) by KRG-TS was very strongly inhibited by Rp-8-Br-cAMPS compared with that by Rp-8-BrcGMPS. These results suggest that the inhibitory effect of $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ mobilization by KRG-TS is more strongly dependent on a cAMP/PKA pathway than a cGMP/PKG pathway. KRG-TS also inhibited the release of adenosine triphosphate and serotonin. In addition, only G-Rg3 of protopanaxadiol in KRG-TS inhibited thrombin-induced platelet aggregation. Conclusion: These results strongly indicate that KRG-TS is a potent beneficial compound that inhibits $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ mobilization in thrombin-platelet interactions, which may result in the prevention of platelet aggregation-mediated thrombotic disease.

The Trichinella spiralis novel cystatin (TsCstN) inhibits cathepsin L (CatL) activity and inflammation of macrophages during lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induction. To identify the protease inhibitory region, this study applied an in silico modeling approach to simulate truncation sites of TsCstN (Ts01), which created four truncated forms, including TsCstN^∆1-39 (Ts02), TsCstN^∆1-71 (Ts03), TsCstN^{∆1-20, ∆73-117} (Ts04), and TsCstN^{∆1-20, ∆42-117} (Ts05). The superimposition of these truncates modeled with AlphaFold Colab indicated that their structures were more akin to Ts01 than those modeled with I-TASSER. Moreover, Ts04 exhibited the closest resemblance to the structure of Ts01. The recombinant Ts01 (rTs01) and truncated proteins (rTs02, rTs03, and rTs04) were successfully expressed in a prokaryotic expression system while Ts05 was synthesized, with sizes of approximately 14, 12, 8, 10, and 2.5 kDa, respectively. When determining the inhibition of CatL activity, both rTs01 and rTs04 effectively reduced CatL activity in vitro. Thus, the combination of the α1 and L1 regions may be sufficient to inhibit CatL. This study provides comprehensive insights into TsCstN, particularly regarding its protein function and inhibitory domains against CatL.

The feasibility of the particle-in-cell (PIC) method is assessed to simulate the non-collective phenomena like non-collective Thomson scattering (TS). The non-collective TS in the laser-plasma interaction, which is related to the single-particle behavior, is simulated through a 2D relativistic PIC code (XOOPIC). For this simulation, a non-collective TS is emitted from a 50-50 DT plasma with electron density and temperature of n_e = 3.00 × 10¹³ cm^-3 and T_e = 1000 eV, typical for the edge plasma at ITER measured by ETS system, respectively. The wavelength, intensity, and FWHM of the laser applied in the ETS system are λ_i,0 = 1.064 × 10^-4 cm, I_i = 2.24 × 10¹⁷ erg=s·㎠, and 12.00 ns, respectively. The electron density and temperature predicted by the PIC simulation, obtained from the TS scattered wave, are n_e,TS = 2.91 × 10¹³ cm^-3 and T_e,TS = 1089 eV, respectively, which are in accordance with the input values of the simulated plasma. The obtained results indicate that the ambiguities rising due to the contradiction between the PIC statistical collective mechanism caused by the super-particle concept and the non-collective nature of TS are resolved. The ability and validity to use PIC method to study the non-collective regimes are verified.

In this paper, we describe a software implementation of a digital TV stream analyzer that can be used for analyzing and verifying digital TV bitstreams on personal computes. It accepts as input MPEG-2 transport streams (TS's) already stored on hard disks and doesn't require any special hardware. After classifying TS packets into program specific information(PSI) TS section auido, video, program clock reference (PCR) private data and null packets, it displays their contents through a graphic user interface along with the syntax elements of the TS header. Also it displays the decoded I frame nearest in time axis the TS packet currently shown This feature helps pin pointing the specific location of problematic parts in bitstreams. The bitsteam analyzer provides the compliance test of MPEG-2 Systems standard and the data injection functionality with which one can easily insert additional data to existing MPEG-2 bitstreams. Using the resulting system one can produce at low test streams for interactive broadcasting and data broadcasting for laboratory use.

Many of companies all over the world have been certified ISO 9000 which is customer focused since last ten 10 years, and industrial sector specific certifications have been developed, such as QS-9000 and ISO/TS 16949 which are specific requirements added to ISO 9000 for the automotive industrial sector. Requirements addressed in ISO 9000, QS-9000 and ISO/TS 16949 are considered to be significant. And I think that requirements for reliability elements such as Design FMEA, Process FMEA and Gage R＆R are very important. I sincerely hope that my study for requirements for reliability elements to be helpful to individual, companies and related association. There should be a lot of requirements in related with reliability in other industrial sectors and I am planning to study on it continuously.

This study presents similarities and differences between Turkish Building Code for Steel Structures, which are TS 648 and SDCCSS (Specification for Design, Calculation and Construction of Steel Structures) in terms of the design of the members. Hot-rolled I-shaped steel sections for symmetrical and U-shaped steel sections (i.e., channels) for monosymmetric sections were elaborated in detail. The design strength of tension members under tensile load, compression members under axial load and flexural members under flexure and shear were examined separately. Connection details for tension members, slenderness for compression members and distance between lateral supports for flexural members were considered as prime variables. Analysis results revealed the design strength of the tension members where at least one of the cross-sectional parts is not connected to the connection plates, I-shaped compression members where a slenderness ratio is below 39 (𝛌<39), U-shaped compression members and flexural members where L_b is between L_p and L_r (L_pb≤L_r) designed based on TS 648 are greater than those designed based on SDCCSS 2018. Strength differences between the specification can reach 79% for tensile members, 13% for compression members and 9% for flexural members.

본 논문에서는 디지털 TV 방송 스트림을 분석, 검증하기 위한 시스템을 PC 상에서 소프트웨어 기반으로 구현하였다. 저장되어 있는 MPEG-2 트란스포트 스트림(transport stream, TS) 파일을 입력으로 받으며 별도의 하드웨어 장치를 사용하지 않는다. 이 분석기는 PSI(program specific information), TS 섹션, TS 헤더 등 기본 내용뿐만 아니라, TS 패킷들을 오디오, 비디오, PCR(program clock reference), 부가 데이터, 널(null) 패킷 등으로 구분하여 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스 통하여 보여 준다. 또한, 현재 표시되고 있는 TS 패킷과 가장 가까운 I 프레임를 디스플레이 해줌으로써 비트스트림 상의 오류 부분과 실제 영상과 쉽게 매칭시킬 수 있도록 해 준다. 본 논문의 분석기는 MPEG-2 비트스트림 적합성 검사 기능도 제공하며, 데이터 방송을 위한 여러 가지 부가 데이터를 MPEG-2 기본 스트림에 삽입하는 기능도 갖고 있다. 본 논문의 분석기를 이용함으로써 저비용으로 방송 스트림을 분석, 검증할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 실험실 연구를 위한 데이터 방송용 비트스트림을 저비용으로 제작할 수 있다.

Toona sinensis (TS) leaf is known to antinociceptive, antioxidative stress and skin moisturizing effects. Acnes vulgaris is a chronic skin disease with various symptoms including itchiness, pain and interruption of normal skin function. Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) is a major factor in the occurrence of inflammatory acnes. This study evaluated the antioxidant and anti-inflammation effects by TS extract from adventitious shoots. TS extract showed anti-inflammatory activities by suppression of pro-inflammation mediators (iNOS and COX-2) in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. TS extract also has anti-inflammatory activities by inhibiting the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines on P. acnes-stimulated HaCaT cells. These effects were regulated by MAPK signaling pathway. Therefore, we suggest that TS extract from adventitious shoots might have applications as a medicine for treating P. acnes-induced skin diseases.

통신시스템의 고발열 전자부품 냉각을 위해 3종류의 써모싸이폰을 각각의 용도에 따라 개 발하였으며 그 각각의 설계변수에 대한 냉각특성을 실험적으로 구하였다. TS-I에서는 증발부 내부 에 금속스크린 메쉬형심지를 삽입함으로써 시간에 따른 온도 변화를 작게 하여 냉각성능 안정성을 확보하였고, TS-II에서는 9W/cm2의 높은 냉각성능을 가진 루프형 써모사이폰을 개발하였으며 TS-III에서는 작동유체의 종류, 파이프개수 와이어 삽입여부등 써모사이폰의 주요 설계변수에 따 른 냉각특성을 구하였다.

Tan spot (TS), caused by the fungus Pyrenophora tritici-repentis (Died) Drechs, is an important foliar disease of wheat and has become a threat to world wheat production since the 1970s. In this study a globally diverse pre-1940s collection of 247 wheat genotypes was evaluated against Ptr ToxA, P. tritici-repentis race 1, and stem rust to determine if; (i) acquisition of Ptr ToxA by the P. tritici-repentis from Stagonospora nodorum led to increased pathogen virulence or (ii) incorporation of TS susceptibility during development stem rust resistant cultivars led to an increase in TS epidemics globally. Most genotypes were susceptible to stem rust; however, a range of reactions to TS and Ptr ToxA were observed. Four combinations of diseasetoxin reactions were observed among the genotypes; TS susceptible-Ptr ToxA sensitive, TS susceptible-Ptr ToxA insensitive, TS resistant-Ptr ToxA insensitive, and TS resistant-Ptr ToxA toxin sensitive. A weak correlation (r = 0.14 for bread wheat and -0.082 for durum) was observed between stem rust susceptibility and TS resistance. Even though there were no reported epidemics in the pre-1940s, TS sensitive genotypes were widely grown in that period, suggesting that Ptr ToxA may not be an important factor responsible for enhanced prevalence of TS.
