  • VOQ 방법은 입력 큐잉의 저 비용과 출력 큐잉의 고성능이라는 장점을 결합한 효과적인 큐잉방법이다. VOQ를 효과적으로 사용하기 위해서는 셀의 순서를 스케쥴 해주는 스케쥴링 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 iSlip, RRM의 round-robin based priority 방식을 따르면서 큐의 현재 상태에 따라서 스케쥴링을 달리하는 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 이 알고리즘에서는 큐에 대한 threshold값을 설정하고 큐에 저장하고 있는 셀의 수가 threshold값 보다 클 경우 그 큐의 셀을 연속해서 포워딩 하도록 하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 본 논문에서 제시한 알고리즘과 기존의 iSlip 알고리즘과의 성능을 패킷의 지연시간 측면에서 비교해 보았다.

Control Scheme Using Forward Slip for a Multi-stand Hot Strip Rolling Mill

  • Forward slip is an important parameter often used in rolling-speed control models for tandem hot strip rolling mills. In a hot strip mill, on-line measurement of strip speed is inherently very difficult. Therefore, for the set-up of the finishing mill, a forward slip model is used to calculate the strip speed from roll circumferential velocity at each mill stand. Due to its complexity, most previous researches have used semi-empirical methods in determining values for the forward slip. Although these investigations may be useful in process design and control, they do not have a theoretical basis. In the present study, a better forward slip model has been developed, which provides for a better set-up and more precise control of the mill. Factors such as neutral point, friction coefficient, width spread, shape of deformation zone in the roll bite are incorporated into the model. Implementation of the new forward slip model for the control of a 7-stand hot strip tandem rolling mill shows significant improvement in roll speed set-up accuracy.

A Study of the Slip Structure of an Aged and Deformed Nickel-Base Superalloy

  • Deformation modes at room temperature and the interaction between slip lines and ${\gamma}$' precipitate particles in heat treated Rene 41 were studied by means of replica techniques in an electron microscope. The alloy had been deformed by compression after aging for times up to 9300 hr at 76$0^{\circ}C$ and 87$0^{\circ}C$. The slip structure observed was similar to that of o brass, i.e., consisting of single slip lines occurred on the{111}<110> system. The slip structure was also correlated with aging conditions. Slip lines appeared to pass through ${\gamma}$' particles, shearing them with the matrix even after a prolonged heat treatment. It was concluded on the basis of comparison with previously published data that ${\gamma}$' particles remain at least partially coherent with the matrix even in a greatly overaged condition.

  • The objective of this paper was to investigate the slip rate and the slip frequency number of damper clutch of torque converter in 2.4L passenger vehicle with 5-speed A/T and analyze the effect of slip control and control strategy on driving characteristics and the fuel economy. The newly developed torque converter with the more durable wet friction material and the slip-controlled damper clutch system, the DCC system, was installed, which was easily compatible and amendable of the lock-up clutch of the base system. The vehicle has been tested on the fuel economy modes such as FTP-75, HWFET and NEDC (ECE15+EUDC) driving cycle at chassis dynamometer. The DCC mode (II), of which the control strategy had both the lock-up and the slip-controlled clutch, and the DCC mode (I) with full slip-controlled clutch were compared with the base system with only the lock-up clutch. As the research result, comparison to base system, the fuel consumption of the vehicle with the DCC control (II) was effectively improved by 6.6% and 7.7% on FTP-75 and NEDC mode.

  • The 3D nonlinear analysis for steel-concrete hybrid deck is carried out by utilizing 2D plane interface element. The effect of the slip occurred between steel and concrete can be modeled by this element. This analysis focuses on not only global behavior of steel-concrete hybrid deck but also local behaviors of members of it such as lower steel plate, I-beam, and concrete which are varied by slip modulus. In this analysis, it was founded that the limit slip modulus could classify the states of steel-concrete hybrid deck into three parts such as full-composite, partial-composite, and non-composite, considering the behavior of lower steel plate, I-beam, and concrete at the mid span and the support as well as the yield load and ultimate load of it.

Calculation model for layered glass

  • This paper presents a mathematical model suitable for the calculation of laminated glass, i.e. glass plates combined with an interlayer material. The model is based on a beam differential equation for each glass plate and a separate differential equation for the slip in the interlayer. In addition to slip, the model takes into account prestressing force in the interlayer. It is possible to combine the two contributions arbitrarily, which is important because the glass sheet fabrication process changes the stiffness of the interlayer in ways that are not easily predictable and could introduce prestressing of varying magnitude. The model is suitable for reformulation into an inverse procedure for calculation of the relevant parameters. Model consisting of a system of differential-algebraic equations, proved too stiff for cases with the thin interlayer. This novel approach covers the full range of possible stiffnesses of layered glass sheets, i.e., from zero to infinite stiffness of the interlayer. The comparison of numerical and experimental results contributes to the validation of the model.

  • The recombination motion of Partial dislocations on basal slip (0001) 1/3<1120> in sapphire ($\alpha$-Al$_2$$O_3$) single crystals was investigated using the four-point bending test with the prism plane (1120) samples. These bending experiments were carried but in the temperature range from $1200^{\circ}C$ to $1400^{\circ}C$ at various engineering stresses 90MPa, 120MPa, and 150MPa. During these tests it was shown that an incubation time was needed for basal slip to be activated. The activation energy for the incubation time was 5.6-6.0eV in the temperature range from $1200^{\circ}C$ to $1400^{\circ}C$. The incubation time is believed to be related to recombination of climb dissociated partial dislocations via self-climb. In addition, these activation energies are nearly same as those for oxygen self-diffusion in $Al_2$$O_3$ (approximately 6.3 eV). Thus, the recombination of the two partial dislocations would be possibly controlled by oxygen diffusion on the stacking fault between the partials.

  • The basal slip (0001)1/3<1120 > dislocation velocity in sapphire ($\alpha$-$Al_2$$O_3$) single crystals was measured by four-point bending test. The bending experiment was carried out in the temperature range from 120$0^{\circ}C$ to $1400^{\circ}C$ at various engineering stresses 90MPa, 120MPa, and 150MPa. The velocity of such dislocations was estimated from the bending displacement rate of the four-point bend sample. The dependence of temperature and stress in dislocation velocity was investigated. The activation energy for dislocation velocity was determined to be about 2.2$\pm$0.4eV. In addition, the stress exponent (m) describing the stress dependence of dislocation velocities was in the range of 2.0$\pm$0.2.

  • A new process, gelcasting in aqueous medium, to fabricate complex-shaped ceramic core has investigated. The ceramic slurry, mixture of fused silica powder and additives such as zircon and cordierite, was electrosterically stabilizes. The slip was prepared by ball milling of polydispered ceramic suspension with monomer, dimer and dispersant. The rheological behavior of slip was evaluated by viscosity measurement. It was found that the high solid loading of polydispersed ceramic slip, which has low viscosity of 50vol%, is possible to obtained. The viscosity of the slip was significantly dependent upon the amount of polymer dispersant and the formulation of monomer and dimer. The green bodies were fabricated through casting and gelation at room temperature followed by drying at $25^{\circ}C$ for 48hrs under relative humidity of 80~85%. Crack-free green body was successfully fabricated through the above process.
