Development of Test Equipment for KSLV-I Upper Stage (KSLV-I 상단부 시험장비(UTE) 설계 및 개발)

  • The Test Equipment for the upper stage of KSLV-I has following functions via umbilical cable interface; external power supply, command output such as discrete and analog, data acquisition, CS-I interface simulation for first stage of KSLV-I and RS-422 serial communication for PDU. The main purpose of UTE is the experiment or function verification of system-level upper stage. To realize this system, we used PXI control system. The UTE is consisted of the PXI control system, power supply, terminal block, internal harness, connector panel and so on. The software functions of UTE are classified by four blocks. These are Discrete/Analog I/O control, PDU RS-422 serial communication control, power supply GPIB control and UTE remote control. In this paper, we will describe the design on the hardware and software of UTE.

  • An integrated I&C architecture for nuclear power plants is designed by the systems and devices being developed in a project. Its design reference is the APR1400 that was design certified in Korea. Digital equipment and several kinds of data communication networks (DCN) are used. To confirm the validity of DCN based architecture design, the traffic loads fur each network were calculated assuming the anticipated maximum traffic condition. The analysis showed that the utilizations of all networks satisfied the design requirements.

  • ER clutch is a device using ER fluid, so called "intelligent material" and is a power transmission system controlled with electric field strength. In this paper(Part III), the behavior of ER clutch under proper conditions was investigated experimentally and compared to theoretical analyses developed from Part I, II. Considering the optimum design concept proposed from Part I, the concentric cylinder type of ER clutch was designed and the experimental apparatus for the performance test was constructed. The comparisons made indicated that the power transmission model of ER clutch and the temperature rise model of ER fluid developed from Part I, II were acceptable for engineering design calculations.culations.

  • Harmonic current originating from electric locomotives can be magnified due to the impedance characteristics of power supply circuit and bring about various problems. That is, electromagnetic interference with communication lines, operational trouble in signaling, overheat and/or vibration in power capacitor, mis-operation in protection relay and so on. Therefore, the exact assessment of the harmonic current flow must be undertaken at design and planning stage for the electric traction systems. For these reasons, this study propose a new approach to model and to analyse traction power feeding system focused on system response to current and voltage harmonic(PART I ). Measurements of harmonics are also performed for railway power supply systems under normal operation. Spectrum and distortion analyses in measurement data are variously described in PART II

  • In this paper, we firstly proposed to the boost type PFC circuit for a power factor improving and a harmonic decreasing. The predict current control method is used to control these PFC circuit. This current control method has a merit that is possible to improve power factor and harmonics. In addition, we suggested to the active DC filter, which is connected with the DC output terminal, in order to compensate the DC ripple components. Consequently, these results are proved by the simulation tool, PSIM, which is an exclusive simulator of power electronics.

  • A real-time monitoring of an immersed antenna type inductively coupled plasma (ICP) was done with optical emission spectroscopy (OES) to check the reports that sputtered atom density is decreasing as the ICP power is increased. At 10 mTorr pressure of Ar, Mg was sputtered by a bipolar pulsed power supply into 2 MHz ICP which has an insulator covered 2.5 turn antenna. Emitted light was collected in two different positions: above the target and inside the ICP region. With 100 W of Mg sputtering power, the intensities of Mg I (285.06 nm), Mg II (279.48 nm), Ar I (420.1 nm) were increased constantly with ICP power from 100 W to 600 W. At 500 W, the intensity of $Mg^+$ exceeded that of Mg under PID controlled discharge voltage of 180 V. The ratio of Mg II/Mg I was increased from 0.45 to 2.71 approximately 6 times.

  • In this paper, we introduce an extended form of the inverse power Lomax model via Marshall-Olkin approach. We call it the Marshall-Olkin inverse power Lomax (MOIPL) distribution. The four- parameter MOIPL distribution is very flexible which contains some former and new models. Vital properties of the MOIPL distribution are affirmed. Maximum likelihood estimators and approximate confidence intervals are considered under Type I censored samples. Maximum likelihood estimates are evaluated according to simulation study. Bayesian estimators as well as Bayesian credible intervals under symmetric loss function are obtained via Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) approach. Finally, the flexibility of the new model is analyzed by means of two real data sets. It is found that the MOIPL model provides closer fits than some other models based on the selected criteria.

  • For split plot designs exact univariate F tests of the within-subjects main effect are based on the assumption of multisample sphericity. Type I error rates and power are reported for the F test and two tests designed for use when multisample sphericity is violated: the $\widetilde{\xi}$-adjusted test and the Corrected Improved General Approximation(CIGA) test.The results indicate that even though the F test and the $\widetilde{\xi}$-adjusted test have better power than the CIGA test in some conditions, the F test and the $\widetilde{\xi}$-adjusted test do not control Type I error rates when the design is unbalanced and the F test dose not have a good control of Type I error rates when sphericity assumption is severely violated.

  • Recently, the high speed train was operated and then the train system's reliability requirements are growing more and more. The exact prediction simulation is necessary in the design of power feeding system by the increase of railway electrification. In order to develope the AC feeding system analysis technology, real-time power simulator was manufactured. It is composed to eight channels analog input, forty channels analog output and forty-eight channels digital I/O. The size of simulator rack is 19" and the two I/O boards are installed the PXI chassis built into the real time os. The signal I/O is possible through BNC connector. The test results of manufactured simulator are obtained that the error range of analog I/O signal is below 1 % and simulation condition is set to 1 ms and the simulation output of the analog output compares the results of the simulator.
