This study investigates the effect of technology outsourcing on the value of the firm in Korea. The result shows that the technology outsourcing in the high growth industries gives positive effects on the value of the firm. The results supports the investment opportunity hypothesis. With respect to the free cash flow hypothesis, this study finds no supporting evidences. The paper concludes that growth is the dominant factor for determining the effect of technology outsourcing on the value of the firm.

The individual behavior on considering prior information when one assesses the probability of uncertain event by representativeness heuristic has been investigated. While prior researches proposed two contrasting behaviors on the employment, we tested the mixed hypothesis that individual ignores the prior information to some extents and begins to consider it above certain threshold when the evidence of representativeness is not salient. The threshold effect of prior probability is positively experimented and the results strongly support the discontinuity hypothesis of representativeness heuristic.

The proposed class of generalized logistic models, indexed by an extra parameter, can be used to model or to examine symmetric or asymmetric discrepancies from the logistic model. When there are a finite number of different design points, we are mainly concerned with maximum likelihood estimation of parameters and in deriving their large sample behavior A score test and a bootstrap hypothesis test are also considered to check if the standard logistic model is appropriate to fit the data or if a generalization is needed .

In this paper we introduced a new score generating function for the rank dispersion function in a general linear model. Based on the new score function, we derived the null asymptotic theory of the rank-based hypothesis testing in a linear model. In essence we showed that several rank test statistics, which are primarily focused on our new score generating function and new dispersion function, are mainly distribution free and asymptotically converges to a chi-square distribution.

A computing method of fractional Bayes factor (FBF) for a point null hypothesis is explained. We propose alternative form of FBF that is the product of density ratio and a quantity using the generalized Savage-Dickey density ratio method. When it is difficult to compute the alternative form of FBF analytically, each term of the proposed form can be estimated by MCMC method. Finally, two examples are given.

The Bayes factor provides a possible hierarchical Bayesian approach for studying the change point problems. A hypothesis for testing change versus no change is considered using predictive distributions. When the underlying distribution is in one-parameter exponential family with conjugate priors, Bayes factors are investigated to the hypothesis above. Finally one example is provided .

We propose some properties of fuzzy p-value and fuzzy significance level to the test statistics for the fuzzy hypotheses testing. Appling the principle of agreement index, we suggest two method for fuzzy hypothesis testing by fuzzy rejection region and fuzzy p-value with fuzzy hypothesis $H_{f,0}$.

Based on the principles described in Part I, we have implemented a working prototype vision system using a feature structure called an LSG (local surface group) for generating object hypotheses. In order to verify an object hypothesis, we estimate the view of the hypothesized model object and render the model object for the computed view. The object hypothesis is then verified by finding additional features in the scene that match those present in the rendered image. Experimental results on synthetic and real range images show the effectiveness of the indexing scheme.

Direct-Sequence code-division multiple access(DS/CDMA) is considered by many to be a promising technology for future wireless communication networks. In this paper, we report new analysis for probability of BPSK CDMA hypothesis test in jointly distributed AWGN Rayleigh-fading received signal. In previous method, analysis is performed on AWGN or Rayleigh-faded signal in separately. In this paper, we propose model for hypothesis test system of the AWGN Rayleigh-faded received signal.
