Effect of p-type a-SiO:H buffer layer at the interface of TCO and p-type layer in hydrogenated amorphous silicon solar cells

  • Wide band gap p-type hydrogenated amorphous silicon oxide (a-SiO:H) buffer layer has been used at the interface of transparent conductive oxide (TCO) and hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) p-type layer of a p-i-n type a-Si:H solar cell. Introduction of 5 nm thick buffer layer improves in blue response of the cell along with 0.5% enhancement of photovoltaic conversion efficiency (η). The cells with buffer layer show higher open circuit voltage (Voc), fill factor (FF), short circuit current density (Jsc) and improved blue response with respect to the cell without buffer layer.

수첨석유수지 개질에 의한 폴리프로필렌 필름의 특성 연구 (A Study on the Filmic Properties of Polypropylenen by Modification of Hydrogenated Hydrocarbon Resin)

  • 본 연구에서는 polypropylene (PP)을 기본 고분자로 하여, 석유수지(hydrocarbon resin, HCR) 종류와 함량을 달리하여PP/HCR 블랜드의 열량 거동을 분석하였고, 이를 이용하여 bi-axially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) 필름을 제조한 후 필름의 기계적 물성, 광학적 특성, 가스 및 수증기에 대한 투과도 그리고 수축률을 비교 평가하였다. 이 연구에서 HCR로는 수첨 dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) 수지와 수첨 C9 수지가 사용되었다. Homo-PP 대비 PP/HCR 블랜드는 stiffness의 증가 등 필름의 기계적 물성 증가, 필름의 haze 감소 등의 광학적 특성 향상, 가스 및 수증기에 대한 투과도 감소 그리고 필름의 수축률이 증가되었으며, HCR로 사용된 수첨DCPD수지와 수첨 C9수지는 기계적 물성 및 광학적 물성에서는 유사한 기여도를 보이지만, 가스 및 수증기에 대한 투과도와 필름의 수축률에 있어서는 차이를 보였다.

L-Menthol 수용액의 가용화에 미치는 에탄올의 영향 (Effects of Ethanol on Solubilization of L-Menthol Solution)

  • 본 연구에서 L-menthol 용액의 가용화에 미치는 에탄올의 영향을 연구하였다. L-menthol 용액은 1 mM L-menthol 수용액에 비이온 계면활성제인 PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil과 PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil을 가한 후, 에탄올의 농도를 변화시키면서 첨가하여 제조하였다. 제조한 용액의 입자크기와 표면장력을 측정하여 가용화에 미치는 에탄올의 영향에 대해 알아보았다. 에탄올의 함량이 증가할수록 입자크기와 표면장력이 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

Pressure-Temperature Diagram of Critical Condition for Disproportionation of Nd-Fe-B Alloy in Hydrogen

  • The HDDR (hydrogenation, disproportionation, desorption, and recombination) process can be used as an effective way of converting a no coercivity Nd-Fe-B ingot material, with a coarse $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ grain structure, to a highly coercive one with a fine grain structure. Careful control of the HDDR process can lead to an anisotropic powder with good $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ grain texture; the most critical step for inducing texture is disproportionation. The critical conditions (hydrogen pressure and temperature) for the disproportionation reaction of fully hydrogenated $Nd_{12.5}Fe_{81.1-(x+y)}B_{6.4}Ga_xNb_y$ (x = 0 or 0.3, y = 0 or 0.2) alloys, in different atmospheres of pure hydrogen and a mixed gas of hydrogen and argon, was investigated with TPA (thermopiezic analyser). From this, the hydrogen pressure-temperature diagram showing the critical conditions was established. The critical disproportionation temperature of the fully hydrogenated $Nd_{12.5}Fe_{81.1-(x+y)}B_{6.4}Ga_xNb_y$ alloys was slightly increased as the hydrogen pressure decreased in both pure hydrogen and mixed gas. The critical disproportionation temperature of the hydrogenated alloys was higher in the mixed gas than in pure hydrogen. Addition of Ga and Nb increased the critical disproportionation temperature of the fully hydrogenated Nd-Fe-B alloys.

Hydrophobic and Mechanical Characteristics of Hydrogenated Amorphous Carbon Films Synthesized by Linear Ar/CH4 Microwave Plasma

  • A 2.45 GHz microwave plasma with linear antenna has been prepared for hydrophobic and wear-resistible surface coating of carbon steel. Wear-resistible properties are required for the surface protection of cutting tools and achieved by depositing a hydrogenated amorphous carbon film on steel surface through linear microwave plasma source that has $TE_{10}-TEM$ waveguide. Compared to the existing RF plasma source driven by 13.56 MHz, linear microwave plasma source can easily generate high density plasma and provide faster deposition rate and wider process windows. In this study, $Ar/CH_4$ gas mixtures are used for hydrogenated amorphous carbon film deposition. When microwave power of 1000 W is applied, 40 cm long uniform $Ar/CH_4$ plasma could be obtained in gas pressure of 200~400 mTorr. The Vickers hardness measurement of hydrogenated amorphous carbon film on steel surface was evaluated. It was found the optimized deposition condition at $Ar:CH_4=25:25$ sccm, 300 mTorr with microwave power of 1000W and RF bias power of 100W. By deposition of hydrogenated amorphous carbon film, contact angle on steel surfaces increases from $43.9^{\circ}$ to $93.2^{\circ}$.

수소 처리시킨 N-채널 다결정 실리콘 TFT에서 스트레스인가에 의한 핫캐리어의 감지 특성 (Sensitive Characteristics of Hot Carriers by Bias Stress in Hydrogenated n-chnnel Poly-silicon TFT)

  • 플라즈마, $H_2$$H_2$/플라즈마 공정에 의해 수소 처리시킨 n-채널 다결정실리콘 박막트랜지스터(TFT)를 제작하였다. 전압 바이어스 스트레스로 게이트 산화막에 유기된 감지 특성들을 분석하였다. 수소 처리시킨 소자에서 전기적 스트레스 조건에 의해 야기된 인자적 감지 특성들은 드레인전류, 문턱전압(Vth), 문턱전압 아래기울기(S), 그리고 최대 전달 컨덕턴스(Gm) 값을 측정하여 조사하였다. 분석 결과로서, 수소화 처리시킨 n-채널 다결정 실리콘 박막 트랜지스터에서 감지된 열화특성은 다결정실리콘/산화막의 계면과 다결정 실리콘의 그레인 경계에서 실리콘-수소(Si-H) 본드의 해리에 의한 현수 본드의 증가가 원인이 되었다. 게이트 산화막내 트랩의 생성은 채널 영역에서 게이트 산화막 속으로 핫 전자 주입에 의해 야기되었다.

옥수수기름과 극도경화대두 혼합유의 이화학적 성질에 대한 무작위 에스테르 교환의 영향 (Effect of Random Interesterification on the Physicochemical Properties in Blends of Corn Germ Oil and Fully Hydrogenated Soybean Oil)

  • 가정용 마아가린의 물성에 적합한 원료유지를 제조하기 위하여 옥수수기름(corn germ oil, CGO)과 극도경화 대두유(fully hydrogenated soybean oil, FHSO)의 혼합유를 무작위 에스테르 교환하였을 때 이들 혼합유의 이화학적 성질의 변화를 연구하였다. 에스테르 교환은 triglyceride 조성을 분석한 결과 $80^{\circ}C$에서 sodium methoxide를 0.4% 사용하였을 때 35분만에 반응이 완결되었다. 융점과 고체지 함량은 에스테르 교환에 의해 현저하게 감소하였고, 거칠고 큰 결정형태는 미세하고 균일한 크기로 변화하였다. 에스테르 교환 전후의 지방산 조성은 변화가 없었으나, triglyceride 조성은 상당한 변화를 나타내었다. PN별로 triglyceride 조성을 분석한 결과 PN 42, 44, 52 및 54는 감소하였는데 이는 $GU_3$$GS_3$의 감소와 관련이 있으며, PN 46, 48 및 50은 증가 하였는데 이는 $GU_2S$$GUS_2$의 증가와 관련있는 것으로 판단되었다. 본 연구에서 융점, 고체지 함량, 결정형태 등의 변화와 지방산 조성으로 볼 때 CGO와 FHSO를 80 : 20과 75 : 25로 혼합하여 에스테르 교환한 것이 가장 바람직한 물성과 영양성을 갖는 가정용 마아가린의 원료 유지임을 알 수 있었다.

Effects of topical application of Phospholipid derivatives on the secretion of sebum on the skin of the fuzzy rats

  • The fuzzy rat that expresses hypersecretion of sebum and hyperplastic sebaceous glands is a genetic mutant for the study of many pharmacological aspects especially human acne. Through this model, we examined the effects of several phospholipids on the secretion of sebum after topical application. The phospholipid derivatives were phosphatidylcholine (PC), hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine (HPC), phosphati dylserine (PS) and hydrogenated phosphatidylserine(HPS). All agents were dissolved into the vehicle (1, 3-Butanediol, ethanol and water) at 0.5% weight volume and applied on the dorsal area of the fuzzy rat. To observe histological changes, the skin biopsies were stained with Oil Red O and the size and morphology of sebaceous gland was observed under microscope. Topical treatment with PC and/or HPC showed a marked decrease in sebum excretion. Especially hydrogenated PC (HPC) appeared to have more predominant sebosuppressive function than any other treatment. The other agents such as PS and HPS showed a marginal effect on sebum secretion. With the sebosuppressive activity, HPC and PC seem to have a good potential application on acne treatment. In order to obtain more insights into possible mechanisms behind the above observations, effects of each phospholipid on the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) genes were investigated. Recently, it has been demonstrated that expression and activation of PPAR subtypes appear to modulate the accumulation of cytoplasmic fat droplets that characterizes the sebocyte differentiation(1). It was also previously suggested that PPAR${\gamma}$ antagonist would seem possible to interfere sebum production without side effects (2). In this study we examined the diverse effects of the tested phospholipids on the expression of several PPAR genes based on reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) from the topically treated skin of fuzzy rats. The results and possible implications are discussed.

Relationship between Secondary Electron Emissions and Film Thickness of Hydrogenated Amorphous Silicon

  • The temporal variation of a secondary electron emission coefficient (${\gamma}$ coefficient) of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) was investigated in a dc silane plasma. Estimated ${\gamma}$ coefficients have a value of 2.73 ${\times}$ 10$^{-2}$ on the pure aluminum electrode and 1.5 ${\times}$ 10$^{-3}$ after 2 hours deposition of -Si:H thin films on a cathode. It showed an abrupt decrease for about 30 minutes before saturation. The variation of the ${\gamma}$ coefficient was estimated as a function of the thin film thickness, and the film thickness was about 80 nm after 30 minutes deposition time. These results are compared with the results of a computer simulation for ion penetration into a cathode.
