  • Our government announced blue hydrogen as clean hydrogen with almost no carbon emissions through the '1st Hydrogen Economy Implementation Master Plan' in November 2021, and introduced the Korean clean hydrogen certification system and mandatory clean hydrogen power generation system. Accordingly, it is necessary to convert natural gas produced from countries with overseas oil and gas resources into blue hydrogen combined with carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology and introduce it domestically. Blue hydrogen produced from overseas must be transported to Korea through liquefied hydrogen carriers, and in Korea, hydrogen-natural gas must be transported through the existing natural gasnatural gas pipeline network to be supplied to users such as power plants. This study organizes existing data related to blue hydrogen, including the production of blue hydrogen from overseas reservoirs such as the UAE, the transportation of blue hydrogen produced overseas through liquefied hydrogen carriers, and the transport of hydrogen-natural gas through the existingnatural gas natural gas pipeline network. The current technological status of the entire process for implementing the blue hydrogen ecosystem, including mixed transport, is investigated and analyzed.
