Hydrogen energy is expanding in range for civil use together with development of pollution-free power sources recently, and it is judged that the use of hydrogen will increase more as a part of carbon dioxide reduction measures according to the Climatic Change Convention. Especially, it is thought that the securement of safety of the used dispenser will be the biggest obstacle in the use of high-pressure hydrogen because the hydrogen station is operated in a high pressure. This study found risks in the process and problems on operation by making use of HAZOP(6 kinds), a qualitative safety evaluation technique, and FMEA(5 kinds), a fault mode effect analysis, for the hydrogen charging system at a hydrogen gas station, derived 6 risk factors from HAZOP and 5 risk factors from FMEA, and prepared measures for it.
In this study, mesh-type PECVD system was suggested to minimize the hydrogen concentration. The main structural difference between the triode system and a conventional system is that a mesh was attached to the substrate holding electrode. We investigated several conditions to compare with conventional PECVD. The main effect of mesh was to minimize the substrate damage by ion bombardment and to enhance the surface reaction to induce hydrogen desorption. It was also found that hydrogen concentration decreased but deposition rate increased as increasing applied dias. Applied DC bias enhanced sputtering process. Intense ion bombardment causes the weakly bonded hydrogen or hydrogen-containing species to leave the growing film and increased adatom mobility. Furthermore, addition of hydrogen gas enhance the surface diffusion of adatom. The structural properties of poly-Si films were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).
Along with the global discussion on climate change prevention, regulations on hazardous substances emitted from ships were also carried out. Batteries have been regularly proposed as a solution for transportation, but lack of energy density has presented hydrogen as a final alternative. This study conducted legal issues regarding the method of providing hydrogen fuel on land and providing hydrogen fuel at sea. It is necessary to study how to institutionalize hydrogen bunkering in the legal system of the licensing system and distribution system.
This study analyzed the central heating system and the cogeneration system among the methods of supplying energy which have application to the Hydrogen Fuel Cell system and apartment complexes for performance evaluations. Therefore, a feasibility study on the first application of this system in an apartment complexes was considered to evaluate the energy performance by the amount of fuel consumed by the system using Hydrogen Fuel Cell energy and environmental performance by the amount of greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, the Hydrogen Fuel Cell system consumes 83% of fuel while the cogeneration system consumes 81% of fuel comparison to conventional central heating system. The Hydrogen Fuel Cell and the cogeneration system produce 73%t and 70% of greenhouse gas emissions in comparison to conventional central heating system.
This study is a research to compare efficiency of new cooling system (chiller, pre-cooler) to that of the conventional system at the hydrogen refueling station (HRS). This study includes contents for thermodynamic comparison of cooling system for HRS and comparison of pros and cons of its components. So It is to establish design concept of cooling system of HRS supplying with fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). HRS is charging high pressure H2 (700 bar) to FCEV. However cooling system is need to prevent temperature rise in tank. This cooling system consists of pre-cooler and chiller system.
A low-temperature dyeing system for silk fabrics based on a redox system has been investigated. Some factors affecting dyeing of silk fabrics with levelling acid dyes in the absence and presence of certain redox system were investigated under different conditions. The variables studied were; type and concentration of redox system, dyeing conditions, i. e. temperature and time, dye concentration, material-to-liquor ration(LR) and colour fastness. The colour strength(K/S value) is outstandingly higher in the presence than in the absence of redox system. A comparison between the colour strength values of such dyeings abtained the three redox system would call for the following order ; Glyoxal/hydrogen peroxide>thiourea/hydrogen peroxide>glucose/hydrgen peroxide> nothing. In the presence of redox system, free radicals are supposed to be formed in both the fiber and the dye and the interaction between these free radicals bring about covalent fixation beside the usual electrostatic bonds, hydrogen bonds and Van der Waals forces.
This study focuses on the performance of hydrogen energy based hybrid system in terms of system reliability of electricity generation. With this aim to evaluate the off-grid system of photovoltaic (PV), wind turbine, electrolyzer, fuelcell, $H_2$ tank and storage batteries, 14 different sites in South Korea are simulated using HOMER. Performance analysis includes simulation on the different sites, verification of operational behaviors on regional and seasonal basis, and comparison among a control group. The result shows that the generation performance of hydrogen powered fuelcell is greatly affected by geographical change rather than seasonal effect. In addition, as the latitude of the hybrid systems location decrease, renewable power output and penetration ratio (%) increase under constant electrical load. Therefore, the hydrogen based hybrid system creates the stability of electricity generation, which best suits in the southern part of South Korea.

By Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation, general information about an internal gas flow can be achieved. This will be very useful to improve flow inside the pipes and snubber system. Relating with hydrogen compressing system, which plays an important role in hydrogen energy utilization, this method should be a powerful tool to observe the flow quickly and clearly. Flow pressure characteristic analysis of hydrogen gas flowing through the snubber of a reciprocating compressor is presented in this paper. The CFD calculation of pressure pulsation and pressure loss are very close to the experiment. Therefore, consequently development of the better hydrogen compressing system will be observed with better understanding by CFD.

This study is about a hydrogen mitigation system in a containment building like an offshore or a nuclear plant. A hydrogen explosion is possibly happened after condensation of steam if hydrogen releases with steam in a containment buildings. Passive autocatalytic recombiner is the one of the measures, but the performance of this equipment is not sure because the distribution of hydrogen is very irregular and is not predicted correctly. This study proposes a new approach for improving the hydrogen removing performance with hydrogen-guiding property. The steam is simulated and analysed. The results show that the shallow air containment reduced over 55% of the released hydrogen and the deep air containment type reduces over 80% of released hydrogen.
In this paper, the multi-point hydrogen detection system based on the combination of the hetero-core optical fiber SPR hydrogen tip sensor and interrogator by pseudorandom noise (PN) code correlation reflectometry has been developed. In a light intensity-based experiment with an LED operating at 850 nm, it has been presented that a transmitted loss change of 0.32dB was induced with a response time of 25 s for 4% $H_2$ in $N_2$ in the case of the 25-nm Au, 60-nm $Ta_2O_5$, and 5-nm Pd multi-layers film. The proposed sensor characteristic shows excellent reproducibility in terms of loss level and time response for the in- and out- $H_2$ action. In addition, in the experiment for multi-point hydrogen detection, all sensors show the real-time response for 4% hydrogen adding with reproducible working. As a result, the real-time multi-point hydrogen detection could be realized by means of the combination of interrogating system and hetero-core optical fiber SPR hydrogen tip sensors.
